Emerging use cases and stringent requirements for 6G and beyond networks require new quantum leaps in mobile communication due to the demands of higher throughput, extensive bandwidth requirements, ultra-low latency and massive number of connected devices. The advancement in wireless communications and the advancement in optical networks will be essential in addressing the demands for future mobile networks by providing an innovative infrastructure for 6G and beyond networks. To support stringent requirements for 6G networks and beyond, new innovative technologies and systems are required that will combine optical and wireless networks. An innovative approach of converging optical and wireless networks promises to improve the network into new heights by creating a smart world with beyond-human cognitive communication capacity and speed, improved network scalability and enhanced energy efficiency. Research has shown that a promising architecture to achieve this goal, and cater for extremely high bandwidth and extremely low latency requirements is based on an all-Photonics network. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an all-Photonics network for the future to address bandwidth limitations, latency issues and massive connectivity. Furthermore, we propose an evolved infrastructure or architecture converging optical and wireless networks. Potential benefits for the evolved infrastructure are also discussed.

The Internet of Everything (IoT) has grown quickly in recent years, as have applications for autonomous robotics that use network connectivity. Robots will therefore become a practical reality future as smart sensors with wireless sensors (i.e., autonomous robotic platforms) operate in demanding conditions *** issues, particularly when thinking about human-robot collaboration, unfortunately arise as a result of technological growth. System failures and information errors are two irregularities that frequently jeopardise the fundamental security of cooperative robotic fleets. With the use of the Internet of Things, this study aims to outline the design process for a control framework for secure robotic systems. Blocks are used as the constituent parts in the suggested concept to illustrate the structure of a control system. Robots are intended to interact with humans safely and function in a networked fashion thanks to the structure's architecture. Brief descriptions are given of the relationships and properties of the individual components. The security methods are the aspect of the suggested concept that is *** report also classifies two basic types of network attacks and summarises their causes in terms of how they affect systems that enable human-robot collaboration. It is also brought up to discuss standards. The work of the European Parliament (EP) and the National American national Standards institute (ANSI) on the safety patterns for communication channels is discussed in particular. © 2023 IEEE.

The development of 6G communication has made low earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks to be a critical component of global communication systems. The high density of LEO satellites enables mobile devices to have continuous communication. However, managing satellites in mega-constellation LEO satellite networks poses a scalability challenge due to the large number of LEO satellite nodes. Besides, due to the high mobility of LEO satellites, inter-satellite handover frequently occurs, which leads to the degradation of traffic QoS (Quality of Service). To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a novel virtual node-based multi-controller management architecture for LEO-satellite constellation networks, that can effectively shield the dynamics of satellite network topology. In specific, we first redefine the virtual node as a geographical area with clear boundaries. Then, we set up domain controllers in each virtual node to manage the satellites. Besides, we propose a handover algorithm to reduce delay jitter and delay by jointly considering the probability of handover and the cost of rerouting. We conduct simulations on Starlink Phase I and the results show that compared with benchmark algorithms, the proposed architecture can reduce the delay jitter by more than 50% and the delay by 10%. © 2023 IEEE.

In current offshore fishing operations, there is a growing demand for long-distance operations by small and medium-sized fishing vessels. However, due to the remote distance from the land, terrestrial communication infrastructure such as land-based communication stations cannot communicate with these vessels in a timely manner. Installing satellite communication equipment on fishing vessels is a common method for communication, but the limited bandwidth capacity and expensive cost of satellite communication make it impossible to maintain continuous real-time communication with all fishing vessels. Utilizing the LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) networking protocol for vessel networking communication can effectively address such issues. This involves integrating information from cluster head vessels within a cluster and then communicating with satellites, thus enabling satellite communication for vessels within the cluster and extending the lifespan of the communication network. However, the main challenges during offshore fishing operations are the long communication distances and significant delays, compounded by the limited energy carried by communication terminals. Therefore, the traditional Leach protocol's frequent cluster iteration leading to communication energy consumption and substantial time overhead cannot be ignored. To address these challenges, this paper proposes an improved protocol named LEACH-FV. This protocol optimizes cluster head selection based on parameters such as remaining energy and location information of communication nodes, specifically tailored for scenarios with large delays and long communication distances. Furthermore, optimizations are made during subsequent cluster iteration rounds, effectively enhancing the survival period of communication networks for fishing vessels. The status monitoring of the airborne test switching network is the key to ensuring the reliable and effective collection of flight test data. To address the issues of protocol inconsistency, high link reliability, and real-time requirements brought about by heterogeneous networks, a state automatic monitoring technology for airborne test switching networks based on SNMP protocol and Pcap data source parsing is proposed. On the basis of analyzing the nodes of the airborne testing network, the author defined and graded the key attributes of the network nodes by studying the data structure of the MIB library of the airborne testing equipment;Monitored the status of onboard switching network nodes through low-level access to collectors and switches;By converting the INET-X data packets of the airborne switching network, real-time access was made to the source data of all nodes such as collectors and switches, and the communication situation of the switching network architecture was analyzed. Finally, automatic access and control of the collector and switch are implemented in a laboratory environment, and the status recognition function of the airborne switching network is verified. The experimental results indicate that the key status information of airborne testing equipment can be monitored in real-time. © 2023 IEEE.

In the fast changing world of cloud based internet of things (IoT) eco-systems, secure connectivity between devices and cloud services is vital. On the other hand, the rising Man-in-the- Middle (MitM) attacks present serious threats to data integrity and confidentiality. In this regard, through a combination of Software Defined networking (SDN) and Blockchain technology, this study proposes an innovative technique for improving security architecture in cloud IoT settings against MitM attacks. The solution put forward relies on blockchain to provide immutable transactions that are used as tamper-proof ledgers for device authentication and secure data sharing. Smart contracts create unchangeable transactions that also maintain the anonymity of devices and their communication processes. Additionally, SDN technology segments traffic, implements dynamic network policies, and therefore reduces MitM attack vectors through traffic inspection and access control. The testing process has shown that the approach effectively prevents MitM attacks while ensuring safe communication channels in cloud-based IoT systems. This implementation demonstrates improved data integrity, confidentiality, and security against unwanted intrusion attempts. This research paper contributes to the development of the cloud-based IoT security paradigm and highlights the synergistic potential of Blockchain and SDN in dealing with common security issues and improving the trustworthiness of networked devices for the Internet of Things. © 2024 IEEE.

Time-sensitive software-defined network (TSSDN) not only have the networking flexibility of software-defined network (SDN), but also have the advantages of time-sensitive network (TSN). This technology provides real-time guarantees for time-triggered traffic in time-sensitive systems by limiting nondeterministic queuing delays for time-sensitive traffic. However, the effectiveness of some low-latency indirect paths may be affected when network topology changed if the information of network device changes cannot be delivered in a timely and reliable manner, and then the performance and reliability of the entire network will be affected. Therefore, we first discuss and summarize the integration issues of TSN and SDN in the control plane, focus on outlining the architectural differences of existing designs especially. Then we propose a scheme to build the control plane over TSN. The advantage is this scheme can improve the unreliable transmission problem of network performance and the reliability related information by using the characteristics of TSN, such as low delay and high reliability. We summarize our scheme as fully time-sensitive software-defined network (FTSSDN) and elaborate on each functional level. Another proposal also been raised to replace all non-TSN devices working in the forwarding plane with TSN capable devices to avoid the occurrence of nondeterministic connections. © 2023 IEEE.

The LEO satellite constellation communication system integrating with the existing ground 5G system is an extremely complex system engineering. Therefore, it is necessary to build a simulation and evaluation system to provide technology supports for multiple stages of the engineering construction, including design demonstration stage, operation management stage and on-orbit application stage. One of the most important tasks of building a simulation system is modeling the key components of the constellation system. Based on the unique properties of LEO satellite constellation and some important factors affecting communication performance, the satellite, gateway, core network, system control center, terminal and radio channel were modeling with a proper simulation granularity. We focus on the model architecture and functional compositions supporting payload service simulation, and detail the modeling process of the inter-satellite laser link affecting the entire satellite network performance, as well as giving the modeling methods of laser capture and spot alignment. The influences of satellite orbit and attitude on the optical inter-satellite link were put into considerations, which is consistent with the actual working status when satellites are on orbit. The modeling methods are efficient for improving the credibility of the simulation and evaluation results of the LEO satellite constellation system. © 2023 SPIE.
