With the vision of future smart railway communication and the huge business opportunities brought by the vigorous development of 5th generation wireless systems (5G), railway transportation needs to develop innovative communication networks and key technologies to ensure the high-quality application of the operation and communication control system. 5G communication technology has high mobility, safety, and reliability as a challenging solution for rail transportation communication. Based on smart rail transportation services and communication scenarios, the introduction and planning of information security become more important. 5G networks provide secure, reliable, and cost-effective network links for a large number of IoT devices. The link between these devices needs to be ensured for the safety of railway traffic and operational efficiency. TETRA is currently the most widely used wireless communication system for newly built railway projects around the world. all tracks in Taiwan, including Taiwan Railway Administration, High-speed Rail, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, Taichung Mass Rapid Transit, Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation, Taoyuan Mass Rapid Transit System, and Taoyuan Airport Mass Rapid Transit System use the stable and reliable TETRA system for functional applications. However, for intelligent applications such as railway safety monitoring, early warning maintenance, patrol inspection, and passenger transportation services with a high demand for train information to prevent train accidents, TETRA has technical limitations that have not been overcome. Therefore, we analyze the advantages and disadvantages of 5G and TETRA in the application of railway safety and propose a TETRA-based integration of 5G to address issues such as the risk of train operation caused by information leakage. Current automobiles have made significant progress in increased safety and comfort, higher fuel efficiency, less pollution, easier handling, etc. all this is due to the tremendous evolution in electronics, which offer higher performance at lower cost at a very rapid pace. As such vehicle electronics have become very large and complex distributed systems, comprising up to 100 networked electronic control units -ECUs. Guaranteeing a high quality of these very complex systems is an urging requirement of current and future highly complex systems. This can be achieved by introducing more and more standard modules in hardware and/or software -AutoSar worldwide standardization efforts are showing the way. As these standard modules typically will be supplied by different suppliers -this will lead to additional cost cut -the problem of guaranteeing interoperability between networked ECUs, containing mixed suppliers standard sub-modules. Experience shows that the specification of standard modules in most cases is not sufficiently precise. Therefore the interoperability of distributed ECUs is endangered. A proven means to reduce the risk of lacking interoperability of standard modules in cooperating ECUs are conformance tests. This paper discusses the interoperability problem referring to example of LIN network standard hardware/software modules. The typical specification process for related conformance tests, the implementation architecture and some test experience is described.

Air-ground integrated network (AGIN) incorporating high-altitude platforms (HAP), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and ground base stations (BS) has been recently rec-ognized as a promising architecture for 6G wireless networks. In addition, free-space optical (FSO) technology has shown its potential for delivering exceptionally high-speed data connections over a long distance. While previous works on FSO-based AGIN mainly focused on point-to-point connectivity, this study instead addresses the context of multiple users. This, in turn, raises concerns about the effective multiple access control (MAC) protocol design. In this study, we analyze the performance of MAC protocols, which jointly employ the rate adaptation and bandwidth allocation, in FSO-based AGIN. Particularly, we exploit the performance of different rate adaptation/bandwidth allocation-based MAC protocols for UAV-aided relaying between multiple BSs and HAP via FSO links. Performance metrics are analytically obtained based on Markov models, including frame loss probability, system throughput and average delay. Numerical results offer insights for properly choosing MAC protocols for FSO-based AGIN towards 6G wireless networks.

The Classification of medical reports is a crucial challenge, as they are usually presented in plain text, have a particular technical vocabulary, and are almost always unstructured. Document classification aims to assign the most appropriate label to a given document. Furthermore, among the significant issues of medical document classification is text representation in a numerical format. So, in this paper, we use artificial intelligence, proposing a model of multi-layer artificial neural networks for multi-label Classification. The transformation to numerical values of the medical documents relies on four encoding modes: Term Frequency (TF), Frequency-Inverse document frequency (TF-IDF), Bag-of- Words (BOW), and Document Term Matrix (DTM) models; in this study, we compared the four types of vectorizations. Experimental results demonstrated that the best results for our proposed neural network architecture for both models denoted Simple Neural network (SNN) and Vocabulary Neural network (VNN). We have used the local vocabulary of 7,400 documents in the SNN model; regarding the VNN model, we use the global terminology (Ohsumed_20000). The suggested models (VNN and SNN) performed well in classifying all four representations. Furthermore, the SNN results outperform the VNN findings. The accuracy of TF is 70.32 in time 3 with an epoch number of 64. For BOW, 68.16 is the accuracy reached with an epoch number 16 in time 1. Likewise, the accuracy of DTM with 32 epochs and in time three is 70.65, whereas the 71.08% value is the accuracy achieved by TF-IDF with 16 epochs in time 1, representing the best results obtained by SNN model.

To meet the on-going challenges of uninterrupted service, the traditional voice-telecommunications have developed throughout the years a very reliable -48VDC power architecture. Having a standardized -48VDC power interface simplifies reliability considerations to a few engineering decisions like battery sizing, A&B DC bussing, AC backup scheme (generator, fuel cells, etc.). The explosion of the data communication industry and the strong dependency of the modern world economy have brought unforeseen reliability design issues: reliability design has now taken another twist as loss of service is translated into more vital loss of revenues then ever. Unfortunately, the established principles for DC powered equipment can no longer be applied as modern data centers are using a multitude of different equipment that can be powered by either AC or DC input voltages. The power architect is now faced with endless possibilities and combinations to achieved the desired reliability objective. AC power, DC power, battery location, dual line feed equipment, heat management, building & space constraints are all new elements which must now be taken into consideration. This paper reviews simple power architectures and reviews reliability, availability and cost differentials.

This project proposes an `Advanced Fire alarm' system based on `Wireless Sensor network (WSN)' in order to ensure safety and security, especially for industries which in turn save lives and property. In short, it works automatically based on the instantaneous atmospheric variation related to temperature and gas leakage, and confirms the danger yet to occur. WSN has been interfaced with the whole system. Traditional wiring systems excluded hereby introducing `Internet of Things (IoT)'. The system divided into two parts such as `Master control Panel' and `Child Sensor Nodes', whereas a master can control the information provided by multiple peripheral devices and log it to the website. Each device consists of two sensors such as MQ-2 sensor, 100 KΩ NTC thermistor, and ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. The information of two different parameters associated with fire has been monitored through child devices. Master device collects all data and updates the server. As a result, user can monitor them through IoT panel. The web panel is equipped with `Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT)' broker, gather information about gas leakage and temperatures in the environment. The time response of sensor nodes, amount of time dissipates to receive data in control panel, and manual control has been recorded. all the child devices can talk to the master control panel and exchange data between them as a form of Star Topology architecture. These factors will make the system much easier to operate and seed information from device to device.

MANETs use multi-hop wireless connections to connect nodes, and the topology often changes as nodes move around. Therefore, dynamic routing techniques are required. A multipath routing strategy all better services network factors, including delay, energy consumption, and network throughput in dynamic contexts, than using a single path routing system. Each protocol addresses a specific use case in a networking environment. This can be caused by various factors, such as random loss; delaying packet delivery due to this data loss would harm real-time applications. This study offers guidance on how to deal with the confluence of serious issues that plague MANETs. Among the Ad-hoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) routing protocol, this study proposes Coyote optimizer-based Multipath Routing to choose the most efficient route from the available options. The suggested optimizer has a novel algorithmic structure and techniques for balancing exploitation. When data packets are randomly lost, these protocols use an optimization procedure to identify well-organized routes with the highest fitness values, resulting in the least data traffic, shortest path, and residual energy possible. Here, a mechanism is introduced that allows the suggested model to use the TCP Congestion control Improvement for Random Loss (TCP CERL) to improve the effective route.

Within the EU Project IoT@Work future Internet techniques such as network virtualization are investigated in order to provide communication services in automation systems. The physical network is modeled as an abstract pool of resources that is allocated through virtual slices to different automation applications. Each slice of the network resources fulfils the application communication needs in terms of security, QoS, and reliability. The proposed architecture is targeted at constrained networks, where a centralized control and management point could be accessed through an API to create and implement virtual networks which could be mapped to a real physical infrastructure. This approach would impact not only the task of engineering by separating application programming from configuring networks. It also hides the network dynamics and self-management connecting ever more dynamic, adaptive and smart automation systems.

The secure Wireless Sensor network (WSN) architecture was designed in such a way that the tradeoffs among efficiency, scalability and security were balanced. It was consisted of several sensor nodes, cluster heads, base station as well as the control center all of them played a vital role in functioning and managing of data. This network security was provided with a layered security approach like the physical, data link, network, transport, and application layers. Data security and integrity are secured through advanced image processing algorithms, and reliable communication protocol. Regular maintenance, constant monitoring and hardening solutions through resilience and fault tolerance mechanisms added a layer of trust in securing this WSN. A comparative analysis was made using different algorithms, such as Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) and detection accuracy is 98% and proposed model which has shown a better result in the energy consumption, data transmission latency, encryption time, detection precision as well as efficiency to insure an original data integrity.

In recent years, Identity Management (IdM) has gained a lot of attention in industry, standardisation and academia. In particular, a couple of research projects, like Daidalos or Prime, have invested considerable effort to bring IdM forward, to take advantage of features like improved usability and security. Nevertheless, there are important issues that have not been addressed so far. The SWIFT project leverages IdM as a key technology of the Future Internet, tackling problems like the integration of the network and application layer from an IdM perspective as well as the use of electronic identity cards. Moreover, aspects like the integration of several user devices, backward compatibility and a new access control infrastructure are required by future IdM solutions. We consider all these aspects by extending existing IdM solutions with six new security and privacy enablers that are part of the overall SWIFT framework. These enablers have been partially implemented towards a new IdM architecture. First evaluation results of the implementation are promising to pave the way towards future IdM solutions.
