The Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT) is an emerging technology that facilitates communication and data sharing among underwater equipment. The constrained data transfer capacity and frequent transmission failures in underwater wireless communication channels provide significant issues in the context of IoUT. Modulation categorization is crucial for optimizing spectrum allocation, guaranteeing dependable and adaptable communication, mitigating interference, assuring network security, and enabling various applications in underwater optical wireless communication (UOWC). It has a key role in enhancing the efficiency and user-friendliness of UOWC systems. Deep learning (DL), is an effective classification method that has achieved significant success in various fields of application. Nevertheless, its application in underwater optical wireless systems has not been thoroughly investigated. This work focuses on the utilization of DL in UOWC systems, specifically for the purpose of modulation categorization. A Convolutional Neural network (CNN) is employed to do the classification task. We transform the unprocessed modulated signals into constellation images with a grid-like structure and then input them into a CNN for training the network. The simulation results demonstrate that the suggested modulation classification strategy based on CNN, provides a comparable level of accuracy in classification without requiring manual selection of features. © 2023 IEEE.

With the deepening of communication engineering research, many advanced technologies are gradually produced in the signal processing of digital communication, among which the automatic modulation and identification of digital communication signals effectively improve the processing level of communication signals. In order to realize the intelligentization of all-optical network, this article puts forward the architecture optimization strategy of communication digital twin system based on artificial neural network (ANN) model. The average detection accuracy of the proposed method for communication digital twin system is 18.6% higher than that of the traditional method. It is said that the optimization method of communication digital twin system based on ANN shows remarkable effectiveness in the experiment. Through high-precision data acquisition, effective ANN model learning and deduction, and life-cycle prediction ability, this method provides strong support for the optimization of communication system. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent decades, advances in digital technologies have allowed for the development of increasingly complex active control solutions for both noise and vibration, which have been utilised in a wide range of applications from automotive to maritime. Such control systems commonly use linear digital filters that cannot fully capture the dynamics of the nonlinear systems under control. To overcome such issues, it has previously been demonstrated that replacing the conventional linear controllers with Neural networks (NNs) can improve control performance in the presence of nonlinearities in both the system plant and primary path. However, a key design decision in the implementation of such controllers is the choice of an appropriate NN architecture for the specific control application. In this paper, a method of training NN controllers for Single-Input-Single-Output (SISO) acoustic noise control is presented. Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), Elman Recurrent Neural network (RNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) architectures are implemented as controllers in the presence of nonlinearities in the primary path. DDoS attacks are a severe hazard for the network. Although researchers are putting their efforts to secure the network, the attackers are upgrading themselves at a rapid pace to breach the security of the network. By separating the control plane and data plane, researchers introduced a new network architecture known as a software-defined network (SDN). However, this architecture is more flexible, dynamic, and easy to configure than traditional IP-based networks, but it has its vulnerabilities, making it a victim of potent DDoS attacks. This paper presents the basic architecture of the SDN and the impacts of unique DDoS attacks on this architecture which would be helpful to understand the basic idea of SDN and devise a robust security solution by keeping in mind all impacts of distributed denial of service attacks. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This work proposes a key security product and a dynamic threshold detection method to detect replay attacks during the delivery of quantum keys under non-quantum cryptography. This work discusses the security challenges of quantum key distribution (QKD) in wireless public communication networks, focusing on the need for robust measures against both quantum and non-quantum threats. QKD, based on the principles of quantum mechanics, provides a theoretically unconditionally secure method for key exchange due to the non-clonability of quantum states. Despite its potential for future communication security, QKD in wireless networks faces vulnerabilities, particularly to denial of service (DoS) attacks and eavesdropping. We focus on the openness of wireless communication, which makes QKD susceptible to interference and destruction during transmission, with DoS attacks capable of disrupting the QKD system's normal operation by consuming bandwidth with spurious signals or requests. Eavesdropping is a more nuanced threat, where an attacker may intercept wireless signals for gaining key information. To address these issues, we propose a security testing architecture and method for QKD networks. By simulating various network conditions and attacks, we analyze the changes of the detection indicator to assess network security according to an evaluation model. A dynamic threshold method based on the quantum key security protocol (QKSP) is introduced to identify network attacks, with optimal fault detection rates achieved at an eavesdropping ratio of 30% and n = 1. This work concludes by presenting a detection metric for fault detection rates to determine the system's security environment, providing a basis for judging the security of the quantum key transmission process. © 2025 SPIE.

Existing distribution networks are often characterized by multiple segments, multiple power sources, and bidirectional power flow, which diminishes the selectivity and sensitivity of traditional over current protection. Differential protection methods can effectively distinguish internal and external faults of protected lines, but traditional differential protection relies on fiber optic communication, which poses difficulties in construction and high costs, making it difficult to be widely used. 5G/B5G, with its characteristics of large bandwidth, low latency, and high reliability, can support communication functions such as fault location and protection actions in distribution networks. However, wireless channel introduces latency and jitter, which poses serious problems in synchronous sampling of differential protection devices. To address the above issues, this paper analyzes the requirements of distribution network differential protection for transmission delay and proposes a synchronous sampling calibration algorithm based on power line Impedance Estimation. This method solves the wireless synchronous sampling problem of dual end devices under different loads. Simulation verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, which can effectively solve the synchronous sampling problem of distribution network differential protection based on 5G/B5G communication. © 2025 SPIE.

To mitigate potential scalability challenges in future many-core architectures' on-chip communication systems, the wireless network-on-Chip (WiNoC) design concept has arisen as a compelling choice. It offers a viable approach to address these issues effectively. This paper delves into an extensive analysis of the performance evaluation concerning network-on-Chip (NoC) and Wireless network-on-Chip (WiNoC) configurations within the framework of a 64-core multicore system. The study encompasses a thorough evaluation across four synthetic traffic profiles, namely random, shuffle, butterfly, and transpose traffic distributions, offering a comprehensive understanding of their impact on system performance. This evaluation involved a thorough analysis of data transmission latency, the efficiency of network data throughput, and the amount of energy consumed. In order to substantiate our conclusions, we conducted simulations encompassing the 64-core mesh-based NoC and WiNoC architectures. These simulations were executed utilizing the Noxim simulator, a well-recognized tool acclaimed for its capacity to provide cycle-accurate simulations. Analyzing the simulation outcomes, it becomes evident that the 64-core WiNoC architecture performs better in terms of network performance. This is evident from its ability to handle heavier workloads and achieve lower delays in all traffic situations, when compared to the 64-core NoC architecture. © 2024 IEEE.

Currently, wireless communication systems using radio frequency are widely utilized across various applications for example: mobile communication, satellite networks, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Wireless communication, owing to its convenient installation, offers advantages over wired counterparts. Nevertheless, utilizing high frequencies for wireless data transfer raises substantial concerns for human health. To address this issue, researchers have explored alternatives deploying visible light in communication systems, leading to three relevant approaches: visible light communication, light fidelity, and optical camera communication. The role of artificial intelligence (AI) in industries and society is pivotal, as it addresses intricate problems, devises intelligent resolutions, and gradually replaces human intelligence in driving emerging technologies like smart home, data analysis, and IIoT. In this study, we introduce MIMO C-OOK architecture, leveraging a convolutional neural network for light sources tracking and a deep learning algorithm for decoding. The proposed method is designed to enhance the performance of the traditional C-OOK such as improving data rate, higher distance, and reducing BER. This approach aims to attain a 8 meters distance with good bit error rate in 3 m/s mobility environment. This is achieved through meticulous control of shuttle speed of camera, camera focal length, and the implementation of suitable FEC. © 2024 IEEE.

This study introduces an innovative approach to facilitate navigation within crowded multi-terminal airports by harnessing Visible Light communication (VLC) technology. Utilizing existing luminaires as transmission points, encoded messages are conveyed through modulated light signals to offer location-specific guidance to users. Equipped with tetrachromatic LEDs and VLC capabilities, these luminaires efficiently transmit data, as demonstrated through analysis of coverage maps and implementation of the OOK modulation scheme. A novel mesh cellular hybrid structure is proposed, eliminating the need for traditional gateways and enhancing system flexibility. Integrating VLC into Edge/Fog architecture, the system capitalizes on VLC's advantages such as wireless connectivity and secure line-of-sight communication, while leveraging existing lighting infrastructure. This integration enables distributed data processing, storage, and communication at the network edge, thereby improving system performance and responsiveness. The paper presents a detailed airport model generation and analyzes two user categories: pedestrians and luggage/passenger carriers. Users are equipped with PINPIN optical sensors to receive and interpret modulated light signals, facilitating localization and positioning calculations. A communication protocol tailored to VLC specifications is discussed, alongside coding and decoding techniques to ensure reliable transmission. The study conducts a bidirectional communication process to determine optimal paths through the venue, in an airport, employing developed wayfinding algorithms. These algorithms offer turn-by-turn directions, highlight landmarks, alert users about crowded areas, and suggest alternate routes. Using an agent-based simulator, traffic control for both user categories is assessed in various geometric scenarios, with results on user halting and average speed analyzed and discussed. Modern beekeeping uses various technological solutions to control and manage apiaries, but many need help with problems related to energy consumption and the inability to adapt to changing conditions. This article presents the development of the conceptual model of hardware-software complex architecture, focusing on the modularity and flexibility of the system. The main idea is to use a universal programmable logic controller with a modular architecture, which allows users to quickly adapt the system to new tasks by adding or replacing sensors and control mechanisms. The proposed approach considers minimizing energy consumption using energy-efficient LoRa technology for data transmission. Such a system's main advantages and potential risks are considered, and formulas for calculating energy consumption during data transmission are presented. The article can serve as a guide for specialists in the field of beekeeping and developers of automation systems. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. all rights reserved.
