digital image Forgery Detection refers to the process of identifying whether a digital image has been manipulated or altered in any way, with the intention of deceiving or misleading the viewer. digital image forgery detection has become an increasingly important research area due to the widespread availability of powerful image editing tools and the potential misuse of manipulated images. In this survey paper, we present a comprehensive comparative analysis of various digital image forgery detection methods. Our objective is to provide researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders with a comprehensive understanding of the existing approaches and their effectiveness in detecting different types of image forgeries. The survey begins by outlining the different types of digital image forgeries, including copy-move, splicing, retouching, and more. We then proceed to review and compare a range of forgery detectionmethods proposed in the literature. These methods include traditional techniques based on handcrafted features, as well as more recent approaches that leverage advanced machine learning and deep learning algorithms. For each method, we discuss its underlying principles, key components, and specific algorithms utilized. We also analyse the strengths and limitations of each method, considering factors such as detection accuracy, robustness to image transformations, computational efficiency, and the ability to handle complex forgery scenarios. Additionally, we examine the evaluation metrics employed to assess the performance of these methods, including detection accuracy, localization accuracy, processing time, and other relevant metrics. Through our comparative analysis, we identify common trends, challenges, and advancements in the field of digital image forgery detection. We highlight the trade-offs between different methods and provide insights into their suitability for specific forgery types and real-world applications. Furthermore, we discuss the limitations

Getting highly accurate output in biomedical data processing concerning biomedical signals and images is impossible because biomedical data are generated from various electronic and electrical resources that can deliver the data with noise. Filtering is widely used for signal and image processing applications in medical, multimedia, communications, biomedical electronics, and computer vision. The biggest problem in biomedical signal and image processing is developing a perfect filter for the system. digital filters are more advanced in precision and stability than analog filters. digital filters are getting more attention due to the increasing advancements in digital technologies. Hence, most medical image and signal processing techniques use digital filters for preprocessing tasks. This paper briefly explains various filters used in medical image and signal processing. MATLAB is a famous mathematical, analytical software with a platform and built-in tools to design filters and experiment with different inputs. Even though this paper implements filters like mean, median, weighted average, Gaussian, and bilateral in Python to verify their performance in terms of mean square error (MSE) and similarity index (SI), a suitable filter can be selected for biomedical applications by comparing their performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Efficient image processing architectures are consistently in demand across a multitude of applications, particularly those customized for resource-constrained systems-on-chip (SoC). The increasing need for high-performance image processing in various sectors has driven the development of specialized architectures. However, deploying such architectures on platforms with limited resources, such as SoCs, poses significant challenges. Furthermore, the implementation of complex algorithms to handle large datasets using software solutions often leads to slower response times, prompting exploration into hardware implementations. Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are becoming popular for hardware implementations because of their attributes: low latency, connectivity, parallel computing capabilities, and flexibility. Consequently, the utilization of FPGA-based implementations has resulted in faster and more efficient performance of unique architectures tailored to specific requirements. This paper presents a novel hardware/software co-design approach to implement erosion, dilation, and neighborhood image processing operations on the FPGA development board, "Zedboard". In this approach, the FPGA is programmed by connecting it to a PC via USB, facilitating the transfer of an image pixel by pixel. The pixels are temporarily stored in on-chip DDR and accessed through DMA (Direct Memory Access) until they are requested by an interrupt signal from the image processing IP, at which point they are moved to line buffers for faster processing. Once processed, the image is transmitted back to the PC via UART, facilitating pixel-by-pixel transfer for verification, where it is compared with a reference image generated using Python. This comparison confirms a 99.22% match between the processed image and the reference image, with the discrepancy occurring at the image's edges due to initial padding. Additionally, the time required to process the entire image was measured and displayed

The digital image of embroidery has complex edge structure and high repetition rate texture features. Post-processing such as region detection is a challenging task. A long embroidery image data set for learning and training is constructed. Based on the deep network and multi-scale detection structure, the lightweight detection network model GSEm-Net is introduced to detect the long embroidery pattern in real time. Experiments show that compared with yoloV8, the detection accuracy of this method is equivalent, and the detection speed is 1.5 times that of yoloV8, but the generated model is smaller, and it is easier to deploy to low-computing edge devices, which effectively improves the target detection efficiency. © 2025 SPIE.

Landmark detection is an essential foundation of cephalometric analysis, playing a crucial role in clinical diagnosis and treatment of orthodontic and orthognathic conditions. This paper proposes a novel framework that enables targeted learning and extraction of structural and medical features based on neural network. Specifically, our framework's key components comprise Contour Sharpener, Coupling Transformer, and Progressively Targeted Feature Extraction Networks (PT-FENet). The Contour Sharpener intensifies contour features informed by the prior distributions of landmarks, enabling the network to learn anatomical structural features. The Coupling Transformer couples and transforms associated landmarks based on the similarity of features around medically related landmarks and the invariant structure of geometrically constrained landmarks to enhance the learning of anatomical structures and medical correlations among them. PT-FENet fully extracts multi-scale features and progressively targets the refinement of anatomical structural and medical features grounded in prior knowledge, thereby augmenting the attention towards detection information. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods on public dataset. Our method enables rapid batch processing of images for precise landmark detection, thus possessing significant value in clinical cephalometric analysis and orthodontic applications. image smoothening is a highly utilized operation in digital image processing focused on reducing the impact of noise. In field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) based implementation, the working of the image smoothening process depends on the arithmetic components, particularly the adder structures. Modifying the underlying adder structures would have a significant impact on the efficiency of image processing. This paper presents a comparative analysis of four advanced adder architectures - like optimized lower part constant or adder (OLOCA), hardware optimized approximate adder with normal error distribution (HOAANED), brent-kung adder, and kogge-stone adder - against the conventional ripple carry adder (RCA). Different adder's impact is evaluated based on delay, power consumption, resource utilization, and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). Our findings demonstrate how selecting an optimal adder can impact the performance of FPGA-based image-smoothening applications. © 2025 IEEE.

Emojiify is a cutting-edge real-time image processing system powered by Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for face emotion recognition. This unique technology fosters human-computer interaction by appropriately recognizing emotions in live facial images and instantly overlaying corresponding emojis, satisfying the rising need for engaging and intuitive emoji-based digital communication. The system classifies seven emotions - happiness, winking, pouting, sad, angry, shock, and neutrality - ensuring a smooth and interactive user experience. Trained on a selected dataset of 2,100 photographs, emojiify achieves an incredible 97% accuracy, exhibiting its capacity to capture nuanced emotional expressions. Its good performance across many demographic categories makes it vital for applications in interactive media, targeted content delivery, and user engagement. By integrating state-of-the-art machine learning with real-time picture processing, this research increases digital emotion expression, unlocking potential applications in entertainment, security, and smart systems. This work redefines how technology bridges human emotions and digital interactions. © 2025 IEEE.
