Building Information Modeling is a sophisticated technology possessing intellectual tools that help planners and architects to design sustainable buildings and carryout performance analysis based on various aspects. Apart from the existing building elements, a network connecting each building component is of vital importance in order to generate organized plans. Building Information Modeling when embedded with Geographic Information System delivers versatile applications in the world of both Geo Spatial field of studies as well as Architecture, engineering and Construction Industry. The current research is one such attempt to understand the power of Geographic Information System tools in building models especially in solving complicated network connections. designing the electrical network and planning the circuitry information in such a way so as to avoid faulty or poor connections in between the inter circuit elements is successfully achieved with the help of this integration. Initially, building model is generated to the high level of detail and electrical fixtures are organized with in a power distribution system using Revit Architecture. The virtual network wiring made in Building model is physically connected using three dimensional Polyline features in Geographic Information System platform and the created Network of electrical elements is utilized for Geometric Network Analysis. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The features of metamaterials are determined by the material’s structural order, which allows them to be used in many different fields such as optical sensors, light detection, photon trapping, invisibility cloaking, MRI, and photovoltaic cells. This work presents a metamaterial-based ultrathin absorber composed of three layers of substances (tungsten, epoxy resin, and tungsten) designed for absorbing visible solar radiation using Finite Integration Technique. The absorber exhibits an absorbance in the vicinity of unity across a wavelength range of 380-780nm. In addition to a maximal absorption of 99.996% at 490.62nm, the proposed design demonstrates an average absorption of 95.24% at the respective wavelengths. The designed absorber has been analyzed in terms of its structural dimensions and design, using a parametric approach. The design is also examined at incident angles up to 70° in both transverse electric and transverse magnetic modes to determine its suitability for use in a practical solar energy harvesting environment. In addition, numerical values of short circuit current density $\left(J_{sc}\right)$, open-circuit voltage $\left(v_{oc}\right)$, fill factor (FF), and efficiency ($\eta$) are investigated concerning solar cell implementations.

More advanced microgrid designs must be created to handle the current energy situation and offer reliable and sustainable power sources. This study focuses on the droop and ANN-based design and modeling to improve the dependability and efficiency of a Direct current Hybrid Microgrid. Several power sources and storage methods must be integrated. A 12kW solar photovoltaic system, a 6.4kW fuel cell system (PEMFC), a 2.4kWh lithium battery pack, two 25-ohm static resistive loads, and one 30-ohm dynamic resistive load are all part of the suggested grid architecture. The project's outcomes will clarify the application and assessment of hybrid DC microgrids, providing a foundation for further developments in resilient and eco-friendly energy systems. We can generate substantial amounts of power and energy while prioritizing environmental conservation and the preservation of our natural resources by strategically and creatively combining different sustainable energy sources. The paper focuses on the designing of dual-band microstrip rectenna with the purpose of harvesting RF energy for the Wi-Fi frequency range. Rectenna can convert the RF energy present in the environment into direct current (DC) which is used to power various low energy-consuming devices. The proposed rectenna is supposed to be used as an alternate to conventional energy source for low power devices involved in IoT systems. The microstrip rectenna resonates at 900 MHz frequency and 2.45 GHz frequency which are the operating frequency of Wi-Fi HaLow technology and conventional Wi-Fi technology which is advantageous for IoT applications. Air is used as a substrate with dielectric permittivity of 1.0 for the development of antenna. The design and simulation of the antenna were conducted using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Studio Suite The rectifier circuit employed in this study utilized an HSMS-285C Schottky diode in conjunction with a Greinacher voltage doubler circuit. Advanced design System (ADS) was used for the simulation purpose of rectifier. The antenna operates at 900 MHz with gain of 8.84 dB and at 2.45 GHz with the gain of 8.82 dB and S11 below −10 dB. The proposed rectifier achieves peak output voltage of 3.269 v with a conversion efficiency of 71.235% for 900 MHz and maximum output of 3.142 v that has conversion efficiency of 65.801% for 2.45 GHz which can be used for powering low power IoT devices operating on Wi-Fi HaLow as well as conventional Wi-Fi. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Data-driven approaches to lens design have only recently begun to emerge. One particular way in which machine learning, and more particularly deep learning, was applied to lens design was by smoothly extrapolating from lens design databases to provide high-quality starting points for lens designers. This mechanism is used by the web application LensNet (which will be publicly available shortly) whose goal is to provide high-quality starting points that are tailored to the desired specifications, namely the effective focal length, f-number and half field of view. Here, we evaluate more thoroughly the designs that are inferred by LensNet and its underlying deep neural network. We provide a global quantitative assessment of the viability of the designs as well as a more targeted comparison among specific design families such as Cooke triplets and Double-Gauss lenses between expert-designed lenses and their automatically inferred counterparts.

This paper describes a novel transimpedance ampli-fier design for 1 Gbps, 4-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) scheme, and plastic optical fiber (POF) communications. The proposed transimpedance amplifier (TIA) takes in the current from a large photodetector with a 30 pF parasitic capacitance. The circuit exploits a flipped voltage follower (FvF) and global current feedback to operate up to 300 MHz with ultra-low static power. The TIA consumes only 80 µW static power under a 1 v supply voltage. The design is validated with simulations using a commercial 40 nm process technology. © 2021 Chamber of Turkish Electrical Engineers.

Transient technology involves materials and devices that undergo controlled degradation after a reliable operation period. This groundbreaking strategy offers significant advantages over conventional devices based on non-renewable materials by limiting environmental exposure to potentially hazardous components after disposal, and by increasing material circularity. As the most abundant naturally occurring polymer on Earth, cellulose is an attractive material for this purpose. Besides, (nano)celluloses are inherently biodegradable and have competitive mechanical, optical, thermal, and ionic conductivity properties that can be exploited to develop sustainable devices and avoid the end-of-life issues associated with conventional systems. Despite its potential, few efforts have been made to review current advances in cellulose-based transient technology. Therefore, this review catalogs the state-of-the-art developments in transient devices enabled by cellulosic materials. To provide a wide perspective, the various degradation mechanisms involved in cellulosic transient devices are introduced. The advanced capabilities of transient cellulosic systems in sensing, photonics, energy storage, electronics, and biomedicine are also highlighted. current bottlenecks toward successful implementation are discussed, with material circularity and environmental impact metrics at the center. It is believed that this review will serve as a valuable resource for the proliferation of cellulose-based transient technology and its implementation into fully integrated, circular, and environmentally sustainable devices. Recent progress in transient devices enabled by (nano)cellulosic materials is reviewed. Transiency mechanisms, advantages of nanocelluloses, and a suite of applications are discussed. The environmental susceptibility of Ti-alloy adversely affects its mechanical properties, operational capability, and friction encountered through surface interaction has been recognized, resulting in wear, corrosion, and fatigue of the material. Therefore, this study focused on the synthesis and characterization of hybrid environmentally friendly silicon carbide-graphene oxide coating on Ti-alloy using liquid additive manufacturing (LAM) approach. The work encompassed the investigation of surface topography, microstructure, phase constituents, and microhardness of the LAM-processed hybrid coated Ti-alloy, employing optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and microhardness testing. Following the Taguchi design of experiments, nine samples were prepared with variations in factors such as current (70, 80 and 90 A), voltage (15, 20 and 35 v), silicon carbide-graphene oxide (70–30, 75–25 and 80–20 wt%) at a constant speed of 1.5 mm/s. The micrograph study revealed a dendritic microstructure as the predominant morphology of the hybrid coated material. Phase analysis showed the presence of intermetallic compounds on the coated surface. The hardness of hybrid coated Ti-alloy was increased by 3–4 times compared to the substrate material. The optimal parameter settings for both morphology and hardness, are a silicon carbide-graphene oxide composition of 80–20 wt%, a current of 90 A, and a voltage of 20 v. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In the paper we briefly describe conceptual design of Ukrainian reusable single-stage rocket demonstrator. The main objective consists in design, development and trials of a series of 'Grasshopper' demonstrators equipped with both the jet propulsion engine set and microwave/optical vision and measurement systems for the performing and control of its soft landing at the starting point. The greatest advantages of our design consist in availability of the results of previous developments of rocket engines and guiding systems for 'Yuzhmash' space ships, as well as advanced technique for real-time microwave 3D imaging using random/noise signals and MIMO1 radar operation mode with FPGA2-based signal processing. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
