Complex influence of photon lifetime (controlled by the mirror loss) and aperture size on the performance of 850 nm InGaAlAs oxide-confined vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (vCSELs) with fully doped AlGaAs-based distributed Bragg reflectors (DBR) was investigated. We find a tradeoff between photon lifetime and gain nonlinearity for maximizing the optical bandwidth, leading to the optimum aperture size close to 4-6 mu m. In spite of the reduced photon lifetime (from 4 ps to 1 ps), the excess damping caused by the current-induced self-heating limits the ultimate modulation bandwidth for the given vCSELs design at 2425 GHz. Further improvement in high frequency characteristics can be facilitated by decrease of the heat generation and improvement of the heat removal from the active region as well as by proper engineering of the scattering loss at the oxide aperture while keeping the low capacitance optimizing design of the oxide aperture.

Beam pointing stability control technology detecting the vibration of the optical platform by detectors, using the fast steering mirror compensated the vibration displacement, thereby maintaining a stable beam. Position Sensitive Detector (PSD) as a sensitive position detection system components, its performance significantly affect the overall accuracy of the test system. This article selects Sitek's two-dimensional duo-lateral PSD: 2L20_CP7. By analyzing the measurement principle of the PSD, we designed a reverse bias circuit, I-v converted circuit, A / D converted circuit and control circuit which FPGA as a controller, testing the output current value to verify the reasonableness of the circuit design, and calculate the location information according to formula. We also made a measured grid chart diagram and distortion based on the application of computer, so dose error analysis. We concluded that the linearity of this PSD is better, and it can be applied in the high-precision systems.

At present, most uncooled infrared detectors circuits consist of the corresponding blind pixel detector, which increases the complexity of uncooled infrared detector, and the performance of the readout circuits is not ideal in practical applications. In order to achieve high performance of the readout circuit for uncooled infrared detectors, a kind of readout circuit based on current mirror has been designed in this paper. The readout circuit is composed of current mirror input part, capacitor feedback transimpedance amplifier (CTIA) and correlated double sampling (CDS) output circuit. Transconductance amplifier CTIA with capacitance negative feedback is used in the circuit and it consists of three integral capacitors, thus the circuit can realize different magnifications. The CDS N SF (source follow) and P SF are adopted as the circuit's output, the output swing can easily be greater than 2v. In average, the CDS N SF and P SF's power consumption is very low. So the total power consumption of 160 line circuit is about 100 mW. The non-uniformity of circuit has been obviously improved by reasonable parameter settings. In the test, the non-uniformity of the readout circuit has reached 1%. The other test results of total power consumption and the output amplitude also agree with simulation results. When the readout circuit and uncooled infrared detector are connected, the infrared signal can be well read out. the device has good noise characteristics and the NETD(noise equivalent temperature difference) is near 80mK. When the integration time is 20 mu s, the whole device's response is about 15mv/K.

In order to reduce the frequency of researchers routing in and out of the testing site and ensure the fluency of the testing we design a new filter system applied to the streak cameras. This system promotes streak cameras' abilities on spatial discrimination and time resolution. This paper focuses on the instruction of the piezoelectric motor's principle based on field-effect tubes. Filter wheel is driven by piezoelectric motor. It can effectively avoid the influences of high field produced by streak tube. Finally we achieve auto regulation at different gears and promote the efficiency of operations and guarantee the safety of researchers. CD4046 introduces the driven clock of this system and we use an inverter to get two synchronous inverted signals. These signals are amplified by field-effect tubes to more than 300v. The amplified ones are integrated at the output terminals to generate sinusoidal signal. The test shows that in this filter system piezoelectric motor operates at its resonance frequency under a control signal of 62.5 KHz. Its working current is 1.9A and driving power is almost 10W. By adjusting the gears, the filter wheel costs less than 2 seconds to calibrate. We accomplish the test in respected results.

One of the challenges faced within the astronomical X-ray community is how to produce lightweight high angular resolution optics for a future X-ray mission capable of probing the early X-ray universe. To this end, the differential deposition project at NASA Marshall Space flight Center (MSFC) is looking to improve current Xray optic technology by applying a corrective coating with a goal of achieving arc-second-level resolution. This paper will focus on the correction of segmented glass optics fabricated at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and the paper will highlight: the design of the vacuum chamber and internal mechanics;the algorithm used to perform the correction;metrology of the glass segments;and the improvement post correction that has been achieved to date.

The paper reports fabrication, characterization and testing of the thermal stability of Pd/nanostructured ZnO thin-film Schottky diode. The effect of optical power and bias on the performance of fabricated diodes based Uv photodetectors has been investigated. ZnO was grown on p-type Si 〈100〉 substrate by vacuum thermal evaporation technique. The surface morphological and the structural properties of the thin-film were studied by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements. I-v characteristics of the Schottky barrier Uv photodetector were studied and the parameters such as ideality-factor, leakage-current, rectification ratio and barrier-height were extracted from the measured data at room temperature (300K). The study revealed that the performance of the devices has a thermal stability with increasing post metal deposition annealing temperature up to 500°C. For annealing temperatures beyond this temperature the rectification quality of the device degrades drastically. The device exhibited high efficiency and high sensitivity under the reverse bias condition. For forward bias, the Uv detection sensitivity decreased proportionally to the bias voltage. At lower level of Uv optical power (0.05 to 0.5 mW) the Schottky barrier height and rectification ratio decreased rapidly while at higher level of optical power (5 to 10 mW) these parameters decreased gradually.

The Electric Pulp Test (EPT) is one of the common method to evaluate the pulp vitality. Generally, the devices which provided in Thailand are imported and mostly expensive which limited the use of this technique. Then the objective of this research is to design and construct the low-cost electric pulp tester. The devices consisted of 3 parts; part 1 is the current source, part 2 is the current display and the last part is battery alarm part. The current source, which generated the maximum current at 90mA, and voltage comparator circuit were employed in our design. The plastic box of device was design by CATIA program and printed out by 3D-printer. To test the functional efficiency of circuits; generated current, current at each LEDs display and the effective voltage of the battery were detected. The results showed that the current source which we designed represented the accurate function as the percentage error was only 2.9% compared to the expecting current. In display part, The percentage error of the current at the green, orange and red LED were 2.8%, 1.6% and 0.3%, respectively. For the low battery alarm part, the LED display alarmed at the average voltage downed to 6.85 ± 0.32 v. We concluded that the device we developed has effective functions and the price was 3000 baths. We expect to improve the better quality and purpose to produce the commercialized product of EPT afterward.
