Airworthiness Examination is a kind of verification activity for the results of model development, whose purpose is to ensure that the developed model conforms to its original design;Airworthiness of military aircraft is developed on the basis of Airworthiness of civil aircraft in order to improve the safety of military aircraft. Firstly, in this paper, the Airworthiness Examination process of military and civil aircraft is established. From the perspective of requirements difference, key steps, number of nodes, work content and examination time. The comparative elements of multi-dimensional Airworthiness Examination process of military and civil aircraft are extracted by using structural entropy theory. Secondly, the comparative analysis model of structural entropy is constructed, and the key data such as system time effectiveness entropy and structural entropy corresponding to Airworthiness Examination process of military and civil aircraft are calculated. Finally, this paper puts forward the corresponding measures and suggestions for the Airworthiness Examination process of military aircraft, which has certain practical significance in technical methods and application practice.

In this paper, we discuss how process mining techniques can be applied in industrial control systems for modeling, verification, and enhancement of the cyber-physical system based on recorded data logs. process mining is used for extracting the process models in different notations from the recorded behavioral traces of the system. The output model of the system's behavior is mainly derived using an open-source tool called ProM. The model can be used for such applications as anomaly detection, detection of cyber-attacks and alarm analysis in industrial control systems with the help of various control flow discovery algorithms. The extracted process model can be used to verify how the event log deviates from it by replaying the log on Petri net for conformance analysis.

In this paper, we define reduced dimensional predictors in latent dynamic systems in contrast to the traditional full-dimensional predictor models. Then the estimation of the new latent vector autoregressive model is developed with an objective to maximize the predicted variance for a given number of latent variables. A new dynamic predictive monitoring index that accounts for variations in the prediction residual and the predictor is developed. The residuals are modeled with a subsequent principal component analysis and a comprehensive monitoring method is developed to detect abnormal situations in industrial and operational systems. The new algorithm is tested on a simple closed-loop control system and the revamped Tennessee Eastman simulated process to show its effectiveness compared to other state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 IEEE.

The objective of this paper is to develop a machine learning-aided cohesive zone model (CZM) for fatigue delamination in composite structures. The so-called string-based CZM can handle pure and mixed fatigue delamination. Its solid thermodynamic foundation enables it to handle spectrum loading sequences well. An implicit integration scheme for this CZM is developed for improved accuracy and to generate needed training data. A conditional recurrent neural network (RNN) model can solve mixed sequential and time-invariant data problems. The time-invariant data are first input into a feed-forward neural network to predict the initial state of an RNN model. The RNN model will take the state and sequential data to recurrently predict the time series outputs. The conditional RNN model is trained to take the place of computationally costly finite element analysis (FEA) and then used for interface parameter calibration. The Dakota toolkit (a general-purpose optimizer), along with the trained conditional RNN model, can parameterize, automate, and accelerate model calibration. The trial-and-error process is then accomplished with Dakota and parameterized and automated with Python scripts and accelerate global optimum search with surrogate models. The present CZM is validated by calibrating its associated interface parameters from a series of constant amplitude double cantilever beam (DCB) tests on unidirectional E-glass fiber/E722 composite beams. It may be modified to accommodate other types of fracture or interfacial debonding.

This paper is one of a series being presented at this conference summarizing the technical outcomes of NATO AVT-297. It presents the framework for a process that may be used to identify the requirements for physical referent data in support of computational model validation. This relies upon applying the principles of systems engineering to develop systematic abstractions and decompositions of the problem space. Rather than contriving to prescribe a specific, structured series of activities a priori, the framework relies on empirical observation and learning to facilitate the identification of candidate Points of Entry into model validation experiments. In order to avoid the inappropriate conflation of one form of abstraction with another, the framework builds on three architectures: functional, physical and modeling. Guidelines are provided as to how these may be distinguished and traversed consistently as they, themselves, mature. Particular attention is drawn to (i) the challenges that may be faced when handling mismatches in abstraction typical of those encountered in multidisciplinary modeling scenarios, and (ii) the potential utility of multi-fidelity analyses as mechanisms for estimating model form uncertainty and assessing the suitability of candidate Points of Entry into model validation experiments. The importance of technique verification and validation dialog is reinforced throughout, highlighting the mutual accountability of those engaged in the computational and physical sciences to provide the learning and, subsequently, the capabilities that will be required to realize our digital transformation ambitions.

This paper presents a comprehensive analytical review of contemporary mathematical models of information influence and control in social networks, emphasizing the integration of agent-level factors such as trust, reputation, decision-making, and action execution. We introduce extensions to classical models, including the DeGroot model, by incorporating these critical components to more accurately reflect social interactions. Special attention is given to control strategies and the application of game-theoretic methods for analyzing interactions among controlling entities. We apply these models and methods to real-world social network data, including analyses of ideological preferences and public opinions on health measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our approach provides new perspectives for future research in social process modeling and offers insights for designing effective strategies for information influence and control. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Information technology has recently led to vast data generation, including in healthcare services. This data can be used to generate evidence for decision-making and has been widely used in high-income countries (HICs) to inform their decision-making process. However, the use of data in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) is lacking. The burden of diseases between HICs and LMICs differs, with LMICs still struggling to battle infectious diseases. Thus, we aim to review the available literature on the status of using administrative data in generating evidence and how to use this data for decision-making on infectious diseases. Most studies were conducted in HICs, with the majority in Taiwan, the United States, South Korea, France, and Japan, compared to LMICs. Research in LMICs is scarce, highlighting inadequate information on prevalent diseases in LMICs, but not in HICs, such as neglected tropical diseases. HICs’ research utilized data from insurance claims, electronic medical records, and linkage from various databases. Administrative data are used for five main purposes, as follow 1.) to describe the epidemiology of diseases, 2.) to identify risk factors or associations among diseases, 3.) to evaluate healthcare services or policies, 4.) to identify any temporal changes in diseases, and 5.) to improve the validity of studies. The methodological approaches are diverse, ranging from regression analysis to advanced analysis such as machine learning. Yet, machine learning's potential in this domain remains underutilized since the applied analyses are mostly limited to data visualization, and conventional machine learning such as XGBoost, and decision tree analysis. An important highlight is that there are still gaps and opportunities for LMICs to further explore insights for infectious disease management, due to the current lack of data science research from LMICs in this area. © 2024 IEEE.

data visualization has become increasingly important to improve equipment monitoring, reduce operational costs and increase process efficiency with the ever-increasing amount of data being generated and collected in various fields. This paper proposes the development of a health monitoring system for an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) that allows data acquisition and analysis for decision-making. The implementation of the proposed system showed favourable results in data acquisition, analysis, and visualization for decision-making. Through the use of a hybrid control architecture, the data acquisition and processing demonstrated efficiency without significant impact on battery consumption or resource usage of the AMR embedded microcomputer. The developed dashboard proved to be efficient in navigating and visualizing the data, providing important tools for the platform manager's decision-making. This work contributes to the health monitoring of devices based on Robot Operating System (ROS), which may be of interest to professionals and researchers in fields related to robotics and automation. Furthermore, the system presented will be open source, making it accessible and adaptable for use in different contexts and applications.

BIM modeling technologies are gradually becoming mandatory and necessary in a life cycle of a building or structure. The main difference between BIM and other types of design is the collection and comprehensive processing of all architectural, technological, economic, operational and other information about the building in a single informational environment. Moreover, all elements of the model are interconnected and interdependent, which ensures the maximum proximity of the model to the real situation. The advantages of BIM technology for cultural heritage sites are operational guidance and quality control of restoration and construction works, minimizing the probability of errors in projects, cost reduction and optimization at operation phase. Technological scheme of highprecision information modeling of cultural heritage objects includes data acquisition, modelling of structural elements and accumulation of attributive information in a specialized software environment, quality control, visualization. The data acquisition stage is based on analysis of existing data and documentation, executive surveys. For this purpose, terrestrial laser scanning is a perfect surveying tool due to its speed, accuracy, completeness of data and level of detail. The difficulty of determining the technical characteristics of the elements and their physical properties, can be partially solved with excessive information provided from laser scanning, and the complexity of modeling deformations and deviations, restricts the level of development and detail (LOD) of the BIM model but define use of mixed LOD (LOD200-500) for a cultural heritage object. The factors that determine the LOD of BIM modeling are: the current state of the object, surveying accessibility, availability of documentation etc. Considering such modeling features provides the creation of a informational model that determines the functionality of the object, in respect with its cultural, historical and architectural value.

process intensification in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) has become imperative to cope with the increasing amount of sewage, stricter environmental regulations, decreasing available footprint, and financial conditions. This study developed a plant-wide model for North Toronto Treatment Plant (NTTP) using BioWin. The model mimics NTTP's performance under the current flow rate as well as plant rated capacity, and allows to take control actions to conserve the desired effluent quality. Documentation such as flows and lab data from online and offline sources was used to tune the BioWin model for the NTTP, and a series of steady state and dynamic simulations were run to calibrate and optimize the model. A four week sampling campaign, realized at the level of the primary effluent, allowed to overcome the sludge co-thickening modeling issue, and validate the steady state model with dynamic runs. Besides, State Point analysis (SPA) was performed to examine the secondary clarifiers performance under current and future loading conditions. Five model configurations were implemented to the validated plant model and assessed to determine the optimized solution for plant upgrade to full treatment rated capacity, while keeping Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) objectives conformity, and process cost efficiency.
