The problem of establishing ergodic stationarity of a Monte Carlo queueing simulation is examined for a single-channel data communication link used between elements of a flexible and complex processcontrol system. This question, largely neglected in the literature, can be attacked by standard statistical tests used in the analysis of two variables. In particular, both the Type I ( alpha ) and Type ii ( beta ) errors can be specified, giving a high degree of confidence in the results and optimum conservation of costly computer facilities. The method is straightforward and readily applied to a Markov process, in perference to more complex techniques such as analysis of variance.
Recently some authors have proposed to introduce a pattern recognition approach in the modelingprocess, especially for the study of populations of species, within a compartimental representation, in aquatic ecosystem...

Poster Session P3 (subsession: Physiological Models) (6 papers) includes: an approach to developing a whole-body algorithm;an analog-computer model for physiological and mathematic aspects of thirst;CNS signal measurements during puberty analyzed by cross-correlation;analysis of the ″distribution, binding and metabolism″ process for corticosterone in the rat;simulation models for hypothesis testing of physiological adaptation to zero gravity. Poster Session P4 (subsession: Pulmonary Models) (7 papers) includes: nonlinear control system simulation of ventilatory response to changes in CO//2 tension at the Carotid bodies;numerical technique for recovering ventilation-perfusion ratios;digital implementation of spectral analysis of lung mechanics;indirect evaluation of mixed venous blood oxygen tension;a servo-compensated bronchial catheter;chemical-reactor model of pulmonary circulation;velocity field in the nose. Papers are one-page summaries, some with illustrations, tables and/or references.

This three-volume set of books presents advances in the development of concepts and techniques in the area of new technologies and contemporary information system architectures. It guides readers through solving specific research and analytical problems to obtain useful knowledge and business value from the data. Each chapter provides an analysis of a specific technical problem, followed by the numerical analysis, simulation and implementation of the solution to the problem.;The books constitute the refereed proceedings of the 2017 38th International conference “Information Systems Architecture and Technology,” or ISAT 2017, held on September 17–19, 2017 in Szklarska Poręba, Poland. The conference was organized by the Computer Science and Management Systems Departments, Faculty of Computer Science and Management, Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland. The papers have been organized into topical parts:;Part I— includes discourseson topics including, but not limited to, Artificial Intelligence Methods, Knowledge Discovery and data Mining, Big data, Knowledge Discovery and data Mining, Knowledge Based Management, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing and High Performance Computing, Distributed Computer Systems, Content Delivery Networks, and Service Oriented Computing.;Part ii—addresses topics including, but not limited to, System Modelling for control, Recognition and Decision Support, Mathematical Modelling in Computer System Design, Service Oriented Systems and Cloud Computing and Complex processmodeling.;Part iiI—deals with topics including, but not limited to, modeling of Manufacturing processes, modeling an Investment Decision process, Management of Innovation, Management of Organization.
