This paper presents an innovative application of stochastic control methodologies for optimizing the performance of spin-exchange relaxation-free co-magnetometers under conditions of internal heat source instability-induced atomic number density fluctuations. A data-driven modeling framework is adopted to develop an ARMAX model for the non-magnetoelectric heating system, followed by the implementation of a minimum variance control strategy to stabilize atomic number density within the gas cell. Comparative analysis against open-loop and ADRC approaches, based on simulation and experimental results, reveals a substantial reduction in atomic number density variance, showcasing superior control efficacy. This study emphasizes the integration of stochastic control techniques into advanced instrumentation, thereby offering avenues for enhancing the operational capabilities of thermal atomic instruments.

In the operation process of the power plant, in addition to the operating state information of the power plant process systems and components is monitored by Industrial control Systems (ICSs), a large number of the operating state information of ICSs and its components themselves can be obtained. These information helps operators to understand the operation safety state of ICSs themselves, and whether ICSs operate reliably, which plays an important role in maintaining the normal operation of the power plant, controlling abnormal events and mitigating the development of accidents. This paper proposes an integrated methodological framework for real-time risk awareness and prediction of ICS based on the particle filtering model whose features are updating monitoring data and predicting the state transition process, and focus on the measurement of risk states, identification of critical risk states and key components, modeling of the state transition process, prediction of risk levels and estimation of remaining arrival time of high-risk residual. The assumption that the transition probability matrix of system states does not change over time in traditional Markov predictions is discarded in this proposed method. Compared with the traditional ICS safety analysis method, this method can provide global and systemic risk insights for ICS risk situation, with a better real-time performance, and it is a kind of more scientific and objective measurement for ICS risk situation.

The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the success of an alternative numerical modeling approach to build a static model by incorporating Forward Stratigraphic Modelling (FSM) as geological input. This new methodology was performed on a field in the Malay Basin where early production wells indicated the high uncertainty in oil-originally-in-place, facies distribution and reservoir connectivity. For this reason, a new approach was developed for a static model in the area that provides new insights of subsurface reservoirs, de-risking future field assets and mitigates the subsurface uncertainty. process-based simulations as presented with FSM present realistic scenarios of lithology distribution and vertical barriers that enable advanced subsurface characterization. FSM process built a quantitative method that simulate sediment distribution from regional to reservoir architecture for A field D and E sands. The main parameters for simulation run include regional understanding of sediment sources, in-situ organic sediment production, global sea-level curve enhanced by Milankovitch cycles and main long-term processes that control the subsidence of the area. FSM prediction combined with regional seismic, cores and well log data have provided a robust scenario of reservoir characteristics for static model. The results of the study detailed high-resolution sequence stratigraphy, significant changes in the depositional system and sand accumulation through time. The results of FSM were quality-checked with the A field well dataset for consistency. After performance of sensitivity analysis, the best-matched model was chosen for subsequent static model building process. In generating static depo- and rock type models, the FSM result were compared with the Geostatistical Stochastic Inversion (GSI) for property distribution away from the well control. This paper proposes a research method of urban environment design and renewal simulation model based on virtual reality technology, aiming to improve the efficiency and accuracy of urban planning and renewal process. This method takes point cloud data processing as the core technology, combines advanced 3D modeling and virtual reality technology, and constructs a high-precision urban environment simulation system. The system includes key modules such as data acquisition, optimization algorithm design, model construction, simulation verification and interactive operation. Among them, through the improved point cloud data processing algorithm, the rapid reconstruction of complex urban spatial structure is realized, and efficient 3D rendering and large-scale scene simulation are supported. data analysis of multiple actual urban scenes shows that this method has excellent performance in various environments. The simulation system supports accurate visual comparison of different urban design schemes, interactive scene adjustment through real-time dynamic operation, and quantitative evaluation of design results. Experimental data show that the system can control the simulation error within 5% in multiple urban renewal scenarios; the data processing efficiency is improved by about 30% compared with traditional methods, and the 3D reconstruction time is shortened to 70% of the original.

The performance degradation of some key components is unavoidable in some electromechanical systems. To improve the system reliability and running quality, this work proposes a compensation control strategy for the key component according to the principle of the similarity between mechanical and other system, such as electrical systems. It is assumed that the degradation process of the key component follows Wiener process, and the explicit expression of the degradation model for the compensated system is an Ito process and obtained based on the model assumptions. According to the analysis results of the degradation model and numerical example, the proposed control strategy enables the key component to remain an output close to that of the new component before failure, and the gap between the new and compensated component is closely related to the parameters of the feedback loop. The results theoretically analyze the running principle of the compensation control strategy and provide theoretical support for further research on the reliability and maintenance modeling.

Edge computing brings processing and storage capabilities closer to the data sources, to reduce network latency, save bandwidth, and preserve data locality. Despite the clear benefits, this paradigm brings unprecedented cyber risks due to the combination of the security issues and challenges typical of cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) worlds. Notwithstanding an increasing interest in edge security by academic and industrial communities, there is still no discernible industry consensus on edge computing security best practices, and activities like threat analysis and countermeasure selection are still not well established and are completely left to security experts. In order to cope with the need for a simplified yet effective threat modeling process, which is affordable in presence of limited security skills and economic resources, and viable in modern development approaches, in this paper, we propose an automated threat modeling and countermeasure selection strategy targeting edge computing systems. Our approach leverages a comprehensive system model able to describe the main involved architectural elements and the associated data flow, with a focus on the specific properties that may actually impact on the applicability of threats and of associated countermeasures.

With the need to rapidly decarbonize society to slow the effects of and halt climate change, new forms of renewable energy need to replace current fossil fuel consumption. Of the alternatives, solar energy is both free and universally accepted. However, today's solar panels made of silicon are still too inefficient, too expensive, and in too short of supply to deploy as quickly as the world needs in all markets. Perovskite absorbers offer the opportunity to dramatically increase efficiency as tandem solar panels and decrease costs. This dissertation explored the use of atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) in depositing perovskite relevant films methylammonium bromide and tin(ii) bromide. Precursors for making these films were selected based on metrics such as volatility, thermal stability, and ease of handling. A tin compound was used that conveyed suitable volatility and thermal stability by Thermogravimetric analysis. The bromide source was provided by hydrogen bromide, and a process for providing hydrogen iodide was explored. Methylamine was used in its neat form as a gas. The reactor geometry used to control the gas flow was designed using computational fluid dynamics software. Two designs are discussed that aimed to minimize inlet contamination and premature deposition – two sources of film inhomogeneity. The resultant films were characterized by a suite of techniques to identify their composition and quality. For SnBr2 films, additional impurity analysis was performed to identify potential sources of the impurities. Finally, Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy was used to measure the spatial dependence of the deposition rate. These data were then used to qualitatively assess the mechanistic origins of the deposition through modeling. Results suggested an absence of gas phase reactions and substantial surface reactions of at least two kinds. These results and procedures may be used to fully develop APCVD models for the deposition of perovskit

Industrial process data acquisition is inevitably disturbed by noise, and data contamination makes process data carry too much redundant information, which will greatly limit the interpretation capability of data-driven modeling approaches. Given that sparse representations can effectively handle noise, a process monitoring method for variational Bayesian dictionary learning (VBDL) is developed in this work. Conventional dictionary learning requires a priori knowledge of the assumed noise variance and sparsity levels, which is not available in real industrial processes. The derived VBDL is built on a Bernoulli distribution with the beta distribution as the conjugate prior, the number of dictionary atoms and their relative importance can be inferred nonparametrically with the iterative update of the variational inference. Since the collected data exhibits temporal correlation, the large noise interference makes dynamic analysis infeasible. A low-rank vector autoregression is developed to dynamically analyze the reconstructed samples, thereby improving the robustness of the model to noise. To illustrate the feasibility and efficacy, the proposed algorithm is verified by a numerical simulation and the CSTR simulation.
