Digital forensics is important in investigating cybercrimes and in proving the digital evidence. However, conventional forensic storage systems have defects such as data manipulation, unauthorized access, and unreliability of the system especially in cloud computing environment. In order to address these challenges, this paper proposes a Digital Forensic Architecture with Authentication and Optimal Key Generation Encryption (DFA-AOKGE) as a secure framework that is meant to enhance the security, integrity and credibility of forensic investigations. The DFA-AOKGE model performs the storage and transport of the forensic data in a blockchain-based architecture across different node to avoid the risks of a single point of failure. This way ensures that critical information is easily retrievable and nobody can alter the proof. Also, a Robust Block Verification System (RBVS) is proposed to validate the digital evidence, detect any attempt of alteration and sustain the information integrity throughout the investigation process. For enhancing the security, the model applies an Improved Equilibrium Optimizer (EEO) for generating cryptographic keys to make the encryption more effective against brute force attacks. Also, the MHE allows for operations on the encrypted forensic data without the need to decrypt the data, thus preserving the data’s privacy during the analysis process. As a result, the DFA-AOKGE integrates these sophisticated mechanisms to provide a comprehensive and secure digital forensic approach for the cloud computing environment where the threats such as hacking and data leakage are frequent.

Ultrasonic measurement of ultra-thin films, ranging from a few nanometers to tens of nanometers, has proven to be a reliable and non-destructive technique widely used in semiconductor manufacturing. Precise process control at each step of semiconductor manufacturing is crucial for the performance of semiconductor devices. In this paper, we demonstrate that machine learning (ML) can effectively address the challenges of ultrasonic measurement for multi-layer thin films, where traditional modeling techniques may fall short. We also show that Principal Component analysis (PCA) and Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) can be employed for feature extraction in data processing for ML to improve efficiency while perfectly retaining the most significant features.

In this paper, the numerical method is used to study the hydrodynamics of the autonomous navigation of the straight-wing propulsion simple ship, and the autonomous navigation performance of the simple ship is quantitatively studied by changing the size and kinematic parameters of the straight-wing propulsion module. The viscous flow problem in the autonomous navigation of a simple ship is solved by means of the three-dimensional Navier Stokes equation, and the autonomous navigation process of the simple ship with straight-wing propulsion is simulated by a combination of user-defined functions, sliding mesh and moving mesh technology. Change the parameters such as blade length and rotation frequency to test the change law of the hydrodynamic performance of the simple ship. The research results show that with the increase of blade length and rotation frequency, the propulsion force and propulsion speed of the simple ship increase, but the propulsion efficiency is not. Interestingly, the longer the blade lengthened, the lower the propulsion efficiency of the simple ship. The three-dimensional flow field structure reveals the dynamic evolution process around the wingspan of the propulsion module, and verifies the variation law of the hydrodynamic performance of the simple ship.

Safety is a critical concern for the next generation of autonomy that is likely to rely heavily on deep neural networks for perception and control. This paper proposes a method to repair unsafe ReLU DNNs in safety-critical systems using reachability analysis. Our repair method uses reachability analysis to calculate the unsafe reachable domain of a DNN, and then uses a novel loss function to construct its distance to the safe domain during the retraining process. Since subtle changes of the DNN parameters can cause unexpected performance degradation, we also present a minimal repair approach where the DNN deviation is minimized. Furthermore, we explore applications of our method to repair DNN agents in deep reinforcement learning (DRL) with seamless integration with learning algorithms. Our method is evaluated on the ACAS Xu benchmark and a rocket lander system against the state-of-the-artmethod ART. Experimental results show that our repair approach can generate provably safe DNNs on multiple safety specifications with negligible performance degradation, even in the absence of training data (Code is available online at https://***/Shaddadi/***).

We describe the methods for automating the workflow for rapidly measuring and producing elemental maps of large-area samples using the Submicron Resolution X-ray Spectroscopy Beamline (SRX) at the National Synchrotron Light Source ii, Brookhaven National Laboratory, through a novel combination of supervised (support vector machine) and unsupervised (cluster analysis) machine learning algorithms. SRX has the capability to create centimeter area full spectrum x-ray fluorescence (XRF) maps non-destructively with special detector and beam configurations. To facilitate the automation of this process, we discuss the development of the Synchrotron Network Automation Program in Python (SnapPy) software package that automates measurements such that SnapPy will control everything from beamline machine control to data acquisition and analysis. The only intervention that will need to be performed by beamline staff will be to physically install and remove samples. This will allow us to run measurements overnight or during times when beamline staff would not otherwise be available.

The emergence of DevOps is accompanied by an increased use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to specify and manage deployment configurations, infrastructure, and associated resources. Terraform is one such IaC solution. However, improper configurations can lead to serious security threats. This paper introduces an approach, implemented as TerrARA, that provides a systematic and structured way for automatically eliciting security threats based on Terraform configuration files. Specifically, TerrARA: (1) automates the construction of an abstract model-an enriched data Flow Diagram (DFD)-from Terraform configuration files for Amazon Web Services (AWS), and it can be extended to other resources and cloud providers via profiles; (2) encodes cloud computing threat patterns, which are utilized by the SPARTA threat modeling engine to automatically identify security threats; and (3) demonstrates its capability in accurately extracting DFDs from Terraform projects and eliciting relevant cloud computing security threats, achieving high accuracy and reasonable performance compared to existing tools and approaches like StartLeft and GPT-4o. By integrating it into CI/CD pipelines, the automated reconstruction and analysis enable continuous security assessments that systematically incorporate cloud infrastructure artifacts into the threat modeling process.

This work is a continuation of a series of articles on the development of software for modelling task allocation and distribution among the participants of collaborative robotic systems (CRS) for technological operations. There is a need for program implementation of existing results, including mathematical support and algorithms (the approach and the algorithm for task allocation in CRS, the method of assigning the CRS participants to the operations, and the criteria of CRS operation efficiency and task allocation). It is therefore necessary to develop a simulation tool for testing, verification and modeling of the proposed solutions and scenarios for the task allocation among CRS agents with the ability of changing any characteristics and parameters at any stage of the technological process. The article offers a list of the necessary functionalities of the simulation tool (being developed) at the stages of setting initial data, selecting the operation mode for the algorithm/method, output and interpretation of results, and the requirements for the graphical user interface (GUI). It is planned to use the MATLAB modeling environment as the core for the simulation tool, since the developed algorithms of single-criterion and multi-criteria optimization for CRS agents' task allocation have already been implemented in this software framework.

Nitrogen gas under pressure released from storage is expected to flow at a set pressure at the downstream end of the control valve. The dynamic changes in pressure and temperature are measured and the Proportional- Integral-Derivative (PID) error-based prediction model gives feedback signal to the control valve to attain accurate downstream pressure. It was observed that the error percentage in a PID controller is very much higher and hence the system never reaches the target pressure. As it is a highly dynamic system having few seconds as the processing time, less error percentage is desired to attain the set point in a short period of time. Statistical model of the real time data was done through regression and compared with the ANFIS modeling results. It could be found that the machine learning process with ANFIS modeling resulted in very less error when compared with the existing PID controller and the traditional statistical modeling.

We present a multi-scale solidification framework for pure substances using laboratory experiments and mathematical modeling. The multi-scale phenomena of solidification are experimentally captured by the state-of-the-art thermal control chamber and optical devices. In particular, the transient temperature over five solidification stages is observed under various cooling rates, while the nucleation site and crystal evo-lution are photographed and further processed via image analysis. A unified mathematical model is also developed to quantitatively examine the solidification process at three scales: (i) the supercooling, freez-ing, and subcooling stages with a time-dependent boundary at the macroscale are analytically solved by Duhamel's theorem and perturbation method;(ii) the two-dimensional (2D) dendritic growth at the mesoscale is computed by the Allen-Cahn equation through phase field modeling;and (iii) the hetero-geneous nucleation at the microscale is numerically simulated. Situational awareness (SA) is a critical research topic in various fields, including military command and control, disaster response, industrial process control, and infrastructure monitoring. In military command and control, SA is particularly significant, representing the “Observe” and “Orient” phases of the OODA model. Commanders must acquire and comprehend information about the adversarial environment to make quick and accurate decisions and execute appropriate actions. Effective SA leads to an information advantage, which subsequently translates into decision-making and operational advantages. Real combat operations often assess overall command effectiveness without focusing on the impact of SA on command effectiveness. Therefore, this paper discusses the importance of SA from the perspective of the OODA model in combat. By utilizing combat units and sensor data recorded in wargame simulations, we propose a method for analyzing SA effectiveness across three dimensions: overall situation, SA accuracy, and SA quality. We examine the impact of SA effectiveness on the simulation outcomes for commanders on both sides. By employing the wargame, this study highlights the significance of enhancing commanders' SA capabilities in dynamic adversarial combat environments.
