design reviews are a key bottleneck of fast product development processes. In order to judge manufacturability, reliable models of the design and the manufacturing process are essential. This paper presents a 2-D fluid simulation model as a m anti facturability check for lead free mini wave soldering and evaluates it against soldering experiments. Miniwave soldering is a widely applied process to automatically solder THT-components onto mixed SMT/THT circuit board assemblies. The vertical hole fill is the acceptability criterion defined by the IPC-A610 and depends on the copper layer design of the THT solder joints due to thermal diffusion during the soldering process. With increasing copper content in high performance multilayer PCBs, the thermal diffusion increases likewise and causes significant soldering problems with respect to insufficient hole fill. To mitigate the design reviews as critical bottleneck for the time to market, in this paper a numerical 2-d model is implemented in ANSYS Fluent to predict hole fill of potential critical solder joints and validate the model against respective soldering experiments. The parametrized copper layer design of the solder joints are automatically generated by a python script, meshed and solved in ANSYS Fluent. This allows easy configuration of different copper layer designs with respect to board thickness, layer count and thickness as well as pin and hole diameter, solder nozzle diameter and the relevant soldering parameters. Temperaturedependent material models of the solder alloys to describe density, viscosity and wetting angle are derived from literature and applied to the simulation model. The simulation methodology is divided in two steps, first the flow field of the solder fontain has to be calculated. In the second step, the soldering process can be simulated based on the stable flow field including capillary action, heat and mass transfer based on the volume of fluid method. The simulation results show good agr

Online learning has become an everyday form of learning for many students across different disciplines, including STEM subjects in the setting of higher education. Studying in these settings requires students to self-regulate their learning to a higher degree as compared to campus-based education. A vital aspect of self-regulated learning is the application of goal-setting strategies. Universities act to support students' goal-setting through the achievement of course learning outcomes, which work both as a promise and metric of academic achievement. However, a lack of clear integration between course activities and course learning outcomes leaves a dissonance between students' study efforts and the course progress. This demo study presents a student-centered learning analytics dashboard aimed at assisting students in their achievement of course learning goals in the setting of STEM higher education. The dashboard was designed using a design science methodological approach. Thirty-seven students have contributed to its development and evaluation during different stages of the designprocess, including the conceptual iterative design and prototyping. The preliminary results show that students found the tool to be easy to use and useful for the achievement of the course goals.

in the field of modern cryptography and-information security, the generation of random numbers is crucial, with the quality of the entropy source being paramount. This study explores the design of Ring Oscillator (RO)-based entropy sources, noted for their high manufacturability and ease of integration. However, the jitter produced by naive ROs is insufficient for high-quality entropy. We propose a design that significantly enhances jitter performance through the introduction of a harmonic injection path. This approach maintains high synthesizability while incurring only modest increases in area and power consumption. Experimental results demonstrate that the modified RO,fa bricated using a 180 nm process, elevated the average min-entropy from $0.058 / \mathrm{bit}$ to 0.351/bit, offering new insights and substantial support for the development of high-quality random number generators.

This research to practice paper describes a K-12 Teacher Professional Development (PD) program model which has been applied in multiple academic settings to help teachers develop an understanding of four main principles for effective teaching: pedagogy, curriculum, system thinking, and technology integration. The Engaged Quality Instruction through Professional Development (EQuIPD) PD Program was an intensive 3-year program with 184 hours of facilitative coaching, bootcamps, and PD sessions for over 200 K-9 teachers from 121 schools across Florida. This paper explores the coaching model that was developed to support the successful grant program. A facilitative/dialogic coaching model was developed for this PD model and was designed to allow coaches to support teachers in achieving personalized grant objectives while simultaneously targeting program goals. These grant goals were centered around eight key areas: inquiry-based lessons, student use of technology for concept knowledge building, collaborative grouping for concept development, core concept model building, engineering design/design thinking, system thinking/process mapping, authentic workforce applications, and fostering quality classroom discourse. The facilitative/dialogic coaching model was unique in that it combined research-based practices for coaching with an infrastructure and coaching model that provided coaches with rubrics, coaching logs, resources, and templates for use with their teachers. This unique coaching model can be applied to other professional development programs to improve teacher practice. The role of the coaches was not specifically addressed in the grant, but we posit the in-service teacher PD coaching framework was largely responsible for the successful implementation of the PD model. This coaching model is novel in that it transcends the traditional relationship between expert and learner through facilitative coaching. This study analyzed the coaching process utilized by expert i
