This paper proposes a manufacturing technology plan based on the combination of 3D printing and precision cutting for a certain projectile fairing part with a thin-walled cavity structure. By holistically taking into account the process and design requirements, on the one hand, the process structure required for 3D printing and precision cutting is incorporated into the original design plan to improve the manufacturability of parts;on the other hand, the comprehensive research of the process plan, processing strategy, process equipment can solve the manufacturing difficulties during the product development, which not only ensures the realization of the lightweight product design structure, but also meets the requirements of the precision assembly and product usage. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Based on the ISIGHT optimization platform, the impeller parameterization modeling and simulation process of the portable axial flow pump is carried out through CFturbo, ICEM and CFX software, and the impeller is optimized with the help of multi-island genetic algorithm to target the two optimization objectives of efficiency and head. The optimization results show that the hydraulic efficiency increased by 6.3% under design conditions. At the same time, compared with the original solution, the optimized cavitation performance is significantly improved. Additionally, overall entropy production is significantly reduced. Field test results show that the head deviation is 1.42% and the efficiency deviation is 4.52% under design conditions, proving that the optimization results are reliable. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

designing options for aircraft frame plate repair often relies on experience. Development of optimization technique is necessary to obtain optimal design for aircraft frame plate structure. In this paper, a method to optimize the repair parameters using genetic algorithm is proposed for the structural repair of aircraft frame plate. In the design process, the parameters of the reinforced piece are considered, including the type, length, width, thickness, and the layout of the rivets. compared with the traditional genetic algorithm, the algorithm based on this paper considers the crossover between species and so on, so it can find the optimal solution in a wider design space. The finite element software ABAQUS combined with Python tool is used for parametric modelling and calculation, and the residual stress values of the repaired part is used as the objective function. Finally, a repaired aircraft frame plate structure with best static and dynamic properties is obtained. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

For a full three-dimensional process design manufacturing technology platform for product collaborative design and process design requirements, this paper introduces a kind of MBD based 3 d technology platform, platform based on MBD technology and knowledge base system, build the information processing technology and the mapping relationship between information modeling, and design the grouping based on the characteristics of the process of the full three-dimensional design process. Under the support of a knowledge base, the platform realizes the optimization of product design and manufacturability inspection analysis and drawing compliance inspection, found that as early as possible in the design of manufacturing related problems, to avoid disconnection between design and manufacturing in the traditional design method and make the design of the products meet the requirements of the product's functionality, manufacturability, etc. It is of great significance for enterprises to implement 3D digital process design and integration technology. © 2022 SPIE.

With the increasing demand for energy saving, the air conditioner with variable frequency becomes the mainstream of the market, which leads to a high requirement for the dynamic balance characteristics of the rotary compressor at variable speed conditions. The balance block is the key part in the eccentric shaft system to balance the rotational inertia force brought by the eccentric wheel, and its flow resistance during rotating process has a large impact on the power consumption. In this paper, CFD simulations will be carried out to study the flow characteristics of several different compressor balance blocks and the results can provide reference for the optimization design of the balance block in the rotary compressor. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The thimble plug assembly is a kind of associated core components in pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plants, and the existing mature process is manufactured by machining parts and assembly welding. However, the traditional subtractive manufacturing process requires a variety of profiles of different specifications to be customized for processing different parts, and the raw material preparation cycle is long, which is not conducive to the rapid manufacturing and research and development of prototype products. In order to adapt to the development trend of advanced nuclear fuel manufacturing technology at home and abroad and the demand for localization of raw materials, CNNC Jianzhong Nuclear Fuel co., Ltd. (CJNF) has carried out a series of alternative studies on additive manufacturing process for the thimble plug assembly. This paper introduces the latest research progress of CJNF on additive manufacturing of thimble plug assembly from the perspectives of additive manufacturing structure design, 3D model and selective laser melting (SLM) process design, and molding size optimization design, and welding process. A multi-objective optimization method of high-speed switched reluctance machines (SRMs) is presented based on the field-circuit co-simulations integrating the finite element method (FEM) and the genetic algorithm. The adverse impact of the manufacturing process on the material properties is considered through the experimental test on a toroidal laminated core, with which the prediction accuracy of the electromagnetic performances of high-speed SRMs is enhanced. In addition, the empirical allocation of weight coefficients on multi-optimization objectives is avoided by introducing the loss density as a boundary condition in the optimization, simplifying the optimization task. A case study targeting at the 15 kW, 20000 r/min SRM is presented, based on which the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed optimization method are validated. The efficiency of the optimal SRM increases by 1.7% compared with the initial design, whilst the mass is reduced by 0.51 kg. © 2024 IEEE.

The electrolytic hydrogen production from water using new energy sources plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable energy development and achieving carbon neutrality goals. In this paper, considering the characteristics of the electrolytic hydrogen production process and the stability of hydrogen usage, a method for optimizing the capacity configuration of new energy electrolytic hydrogen production is proposed, which takes into account the hydrogen producing, storage, and transportation. Firstly, a calculation model is established for hydrogen production equipment, power generation equipment, and grid connection lines. Then, the optimization problem is solved with the objective of minimizing the overall lifecycle cost using a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) algorithm. Gas cylinders, serving in high-pressure environments for extended periods, are prone to significant residual stress in their thin-walled tank regions during the additive manufacturing and subsequent rolling strengthening processes. This poses a potential threat to the safety and performance of the gas cylinders. Therefore, effectively controlling the residual stress after additive manufacturing and rolling becomes a key research topic. This paper establishes a control system for residual stress in the additive manufacturing and rolling process of thin-walled tanks. By combining experimental data and finite element simulation data from the additive manufacturing and rolling process of thin-walled tanks, a database management system for the additive manufacturing and rolling process is established. Then, neural network algorithms are used to construct the relationship between additive manufacturing and rolling process parameters and target values. Based on these relationship models and the hill-climbing optimization algorithm, a residual stress control system for the additive manufacturing and rolling process is constructed, which realizes intelligent analysis, optimization, and design of process parameters in the additive manufacturing and rolling process of thin-walled tanks. This ultimately achieves the goals of controlling residual stress and enhancing the performance of thin-walled tanks. © 2025 SPIE.

The performance, efficiency, and stability of semiconductor materials are directly influenced by the quality of wafer cleaning, which is a crucial step in the production of integrated circuits and photovoltaic cells. For this reason, the final product's quality greatly depends on the cleaning effect's quality. Approximately half of the issues and malfunctions in large-scale integrated circuits are related to inadequate cleanliness of the silicon material, a result of the shortcomings of current wafer cleaning technology. Wafer cleaning process optimization is therefore crucial. The control system is designed based on the structural features and process flow of the chemical liquid spray wafer cassette cleaning machine. Siemens S7-1200 PLC is used as the control core of the control scheme, which is built by examining the control principles of each cleaning machine module and choosing and designing the hardware component of the control system. The wafer cleaning process is fully automated thanks to the design of the upper computer monitoring interface, which also includes a touch screen for online debugging. This significantly raises the production efficiency of the wafer-cleaning machine. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
