The problem of developing and software implementation of mathematical models that allows to calculate energy indicators, performance data, and other electromagnetic values of frequency-controlled asynchronous motors powered by PWM converters with a complicated harmonic composition of the output voltage, remains relevant. This article describes the principles of building software that implements the previously proposed model of the performance data of an asynchronous motor with frequency control, algorithms for generating pulse PWM voltage, its harmonic analysis, as well as the results of operation of this software. When developing a program that implements the algorithms listed above, the QB64 software shell was used. The created computer program allows to shape a pulse voltage curve, allows to implement its harmonic composition (taking into account the number of phases), and calculate tables of performance data. As the initial data, the dimensions and winding data of the asynchronous motor, as well as the specified voltage parameters (fundamental frequency, pulse carrier frequency, modulation type) are used. The proposed software has high processing speed and can be used for design optimization of frequency-controlled asynchronous motors. © 2021 IEEE.

Efficiently of spectrum allocation is the key for dynamic spectrum access in the Cognitive Radio Network(CRNs). Based on graph coloring model, this paper proposes a random drift particle swarm optimization(RDPSO) algorithm to allocate the spectrum, with the purpose of improving the reward and fairness of network. The RDPSO algorithm introduces the thermal coefficient and drift coefficient, and it shows the faster convergence and better performance optimization than particle swarm optimization(PSO). The simulation results shown that this algorithm is flexible, which has high location accuracy and fast convergence speed. And compared to other three algorithms, RDPSO algorithm improved reward and fairness of network and convergence.

Investigation of hash join algorithm on multicore and many-core platforms showed that carefully tuned hash join implementations could outperform simple hash joins on most multi-core servers. However, hardware-oblivious hash join has shown competitive performance on many-core platforms. Knights Landing (KNL) has received attention in the field of parallel computing for its massively data-parallel nature and high memory bandwidth, but both hardware-oblivious and hardware-conscious hash join algorithms have not been systematically discussed and evaluated for KNL's characteristics (high bandwidth, cluster mode, etc.). In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the state-of-the-art hardware-oblivious and hardware-conscious hash joins that are tuned to exploit various KNL hardware characteristics. Using a thorough evaluation, we show that:1) Memory allocation strategies based on KNL's architecture are effective for both hardware-oblivious and hardware-conscious hash join algorithms;2) In order to improve the efficiency of the hash join algorithms, hardware architecture features are still non-negligible factors.

In this paper, an optimization methodology based on the surrogate model is proposed to synthesize arbitrary equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) patterns of a THz phased array. The optimization algorithm is implemented in PyAEDT, a Python library recently developed by ANSYS that can directly interact with HFSS (electromagnetic simulation software), where the mutual coupling effect and the element pattern are considered comprehensively. The simulated results reveal that the method works well, while conventional beamforming algorithms based on the array factor calculation are insufficient to precisely assess the EIRP performance of the THz phased array. The proposed high-fidelity optimization technique has a potential for accurate and fast EIRP pattern synthesis of THz phased arrays.

In order to accurately calculate the braking efficiency factor of drum brake shoe of heavy truck, virtual prototyping of a heavy truck's brake is demonstrated. The requirements for brakes include not only its performance but also its comfort, serviceability and working lifetime, which must be high. The finite element analysis software ANSYS and the multi-body system simulation software *** were used to establish the drum brake nonlinear 3D simulation model. The model was built by developing joint program module between the rigid shoe and the flexible lining and nonlinear contact force program module between the lining and the rigid drum. Using this model, the simulation was executed for the drum brake of 32t heavy duty truck. The results show that the simulated braking efficiency factor coincides with experimental results of the braking efficiency factor of the heavy truck drum brake.

The fuzzy clustering model makes up one of the best approaches to show an excellent ability to identify and model nonlinear systems. In literature, several algorithms were used to solve this kind of case. Fuzzy c-means (FCM) is one of the most used clustering methods because it is efficient, straightforward, and easy to implement. However, the FCM has its weakness for example, the algorithm is generally sensitive to initialization and is easily trapped in local optima due to its non-convex objective function. To avoid these problems, heuristic methods introduced by many researchers such as particle swarm optimization (PSO). So, it is a robust strategy for optimization problem. In this paper, a fuzzy clustering method based on FCM and PSO is study which make use of the merits of both algorithms to find a new model of the irrigation station. Experimental results applied to station of irrigation show that the hybrid algorithm (FCM-PSO) is efficient and can reveal encouraging results. Our analysis indicates that the PSO improves the performance of the fuzzy c-means (FCM) algorithm.

Reliable measurements and parameter estimates are required in order to properly apply Model Based Control in industrial facilities. Powerful algorithms have been described in the literature for nonlinear Dynamic Data Reconciliation (NDDR) of chemical processes based on nonlinear programming techniques. In some instances, these have been shown to be more reliable than the commonly used Extended Kalman Filtering (EKF) approach. Often, efficient NDDR algorithms require the provision of analytical derivatives and are difficult to apply, requiring a high degree of coding. Here we present and evaluate, using a simple chemical reactor model, an easy to use NDDR methodology applying three general purpose nonlinear programming codes within Matlab environment. The NDDR problem is tackled using the simultaneous optimization solution approach, which has been shown to be more efficient than the sequential approach. The performance of the NDDR algorithm has been compared with that of a second order nonlinear filter and practical guidelines to simplify the application of these algorithms in real time are provided.

In air-based information network of the Space-Air-Ground Integrated Network, it is critical to select an efficient communication link for each communication. However, some communication may not have fixed rules. In this article, we build a model of the air-based information network, and use the dynamic programming to select the most efficient communication link by minimizing the energy consumption in the communication model. In the communication model, energy consumption is associated with the distance between aircrafts and the relative velocity of the aircrafts. The experiments show that the presented algorithms can effectively reduce the total cost while satisfying timing constraints with guaranteed confidence probabilities. For example, there has been an achievement that an average reduction of 9.9% per 20 time units in the 100-subnetwork model satisfying timing constraints based on the presented algorithm.

We present the Python Red Pitaya Lockbox (PyRPL), an open source software package that allows the implementation of automatic digital feedback controllers for quantum optics experiments on commercially available, affordable Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) boards. Our software implements the digital generation of various types of error signals, from an analog input through the application of loop filters of high complexity and real-time gain adjustment for multiple analog output signals, including different algorithms for resonance search, lock acquisition sequences, and in-loop gain optimization. Furthermore, all necessary diagnostic instruments, such as an oscilloscope, a network analyzer, and a spectrum analyzer, are integrated into our software. Apart from providing a quickly scalable, automatic feedback controller, the lock performance that can be achieved by using PyRPL with imperfect equipment, such as piezoelectric transducers and noisy amplifiers, is better than the one achievable with standard analog controllers due to the higher complexity of implementable filters and possibilities of nonlinear operations in the FPGA. This drastically reduces the cost of added complexity when introducing additional feedback loops to an experiment. The open-source character also distinguishes PyRPL from commercial solutions, as it allows users to customize functionalities at various levels, ranging from the easy integration of PyRPL-based feedback controllers into existing setups to the modification of the FPGA functionality. A community of developers provides fast and efficient implementation and testing of software modifications.

This paper describes SCADOPT, a highly-scalable open-source HPC framework written in C++ for solving PDE constrained optimization problems. The framework is designed to handle explicit time-stepping methods over structured grids for the approximation of time-dependent PDEs. It provides an interface to gradient-based optimization algorithms like L-BFGS-B. Derivatives needed for the optimization are computed via algorithmic differentiation (AD) since this approach provides exact derivatives values with a reasonable computational overhead. Hence, the integration of the AD-tool ADOL-C has been a major design principle for the data management of SCADOPT. We describe the core components of SCADOPT, the employed parallelization methods, and the integration of ADOL-C. Furthermore, we illustrate the solution of an optimization problem based on the heat equation with SCADOPT in about 90 lines. To demonstrate the excellent performance of SCADOPT, we show the weak and strong scaling with respect to MPI on a modern HPC cluster.
