In this paper, a conjugate gradient hybrid filtering fusion algorithm for multi-sensor data fusion is proposed to solve the problems of gyroscope drift and cumulative error in gait analysis system based on inertial sensors. The algorithm improves the attitude resolution algorithm for abnormal gait recognition effectively. A conjugate gradient optimization algorithm with dynamic step length is proposed to solve the problem that the traditional conjugate gradient algorithm can only tackle the problem of the settlement accuracy under the constant motion rate. The step length is proportional to the actual physical angular velocity length of human motion, which meets the requirements of abnormal gait recognition under different motion rates. As for the problem of the inaccurate attitude calculation angle caused by motion acceleration generated from the non-uniformity of human motion, a motion acceleration suppression algorithm is proposed, which separates the gravity acceleration from motion acceleration to improve the accuracy of the gait analysis system. By comparing this fusion algorithm of conjugate gradient hybrid filter with other algorithms, we can conclude that the proposed algorithm can reduce the accumulated error of gyroscope and the interference of motion acceleration on the solution accuracy and improve the static performance and dynamic performance of the abnormal gait recognition system effectively. © 2019 IEEE.

Given a weighted graph G(V, E) and t >= 1, a subgraph H is a t-spanner of G if the lengths of shortest paths in G are preserved in H up to a multiplicative factor of t. The subsetwise spanner problem aims to preserve distances in G for only a subset of the vertices. We generalize the minimum-cost subsetwise spanner problem to one where vertices appear on multiple levels, which we call the multi-level graph spanner (MLGS) problem, and describe two simple heuristics. Applications of this problem include road/network building and multi-level graph visualization, especially where vertices may require different grades of service. We formulate a 0-1 integer linear program (ILP) of size O(vertical bar E vertical bar vertical bar V vertical bar(2)) for the more general minimum pairwise spanner problem, which resolves an open question by Sigurd and Zachariasen on whether this problem admits a useful polynomial-size ILP. We extend this ILP formulation to the MLGS problem, and evaluate the heuristic and ILP performance on random graphs of up to 100 vertices and 500 edges.

The integration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) introduces non-conventional two-way power flows which cannot be captured well by traditional model-based techniques. This brings great challenges to accurately localize faults and initiate correct actions of the protection system. In this paper, we propose a data-driven fault localization strategy based on multilevel system regionalization and probabilistic fault detections on all the subregions. The strategy combines the Support Vector Data Description (SVDD) and the Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) to provide the confidence level of fault detections in each subregion by p-values, and then accurately localize the fault by comparing the p-values. Our experiments show that the proposed data-driven fault localization can greatly increase the accuracy of fault localization for distribution systems with high integration of DERs. © 2019 IEEE.

Within high-level specification languages such as B, code is refined in many steps until a small "implementable" subset of the language is reached. Then, code generators are used, targeting programming languages such as C or Ada. We aim to diminish the number of refinement steps needed, by providing an improved code generator. Indeed, many high-level operations and data types, such as sets, can be dealt with in programming languages such as Java and C++. We present a code generator for B named B2program with two distinct features. Firstly, it targets multiple (high-level) languages via a template-based approach to compilation. In addition to flexibility, this also enables one to safeguard against errors in the individual compilers and standard libraries, by generating multiple implementations of the same formal model. Secondly, it supports higher-level constructs compared to existing code generators. This enables new uses of formal models, as prototypes, demonstrators or simply as very high-level programming languages, by directly embedding formal models as components into software systems. In the article, we discuss the implementation of our code generator, evaluate it using B models taken from literature and compare its performance with simulation in ProB.

The modern In-Memory Database (IMDB) can support highly concurrent OLTP workloads and generate massive transactional logs per second. Quorum based replication protocols such as Paxos or Raft have been widely used in distributed databases. However, it's non-trivial to replicate IMDB because high transaction rate has brought new challenges. First, the leader node in quorum replication should have adaptivity by considering various transaction arrival rates and the processing capability of follower nodes. Second, followers are required to replay logs to catch up the state of the leader in the highly concurrent setting to reduce visibility gap. To this end, we built QuorumX, an efficient quorum-based replication framework for IMDB under heavy OLTP workloads. QuorumX combines critical path based batching and pipeline batching to provide an adaptive log propagation scheme to obtain a stable and high performance at various settings. Further, we propose a safe and coordination-free log replay scheme to minimize the visibility gap between the leader and follower IMDBs. Our evaluation results with the YCSB and TPC-C benchmarks demonstrate that QuorumX achieves the performance close to asynchronous primary-backup replication without sacrificing the data consistency and availability.

This study designed a brain-computer interface (BCI) with high frequency steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs) paradigm based on dual frequency modulation. The information transfer rates (ITR) of traditional low-frequency SSVEP-BCIs are high, but are very irritating to the human eye for long-term use. high-frequency stimulation can greatly improve the comfort of the system, but the communication rate of high-frequency systems is poor for the EEG response of high-frequency stimulation is weak. This study introduces a dual-frequency modulation method to improve the recognition accuracy of high-frequency BCI. Each target in the paradigm is composed of sinusoidal brightness modulated flicker light of the same initial phase with different stimulation frequencies in a space composition of the checkerboard. Using the above method, a relatively high-frequency SSVEP-BCI paradigm with a relatively complex code is proposed. Due to the complexity of the coding, only the training-based identification algorithm is used. With a data length of 0.5s, the average recognition accuracy is 91.02 +/- 7.77%, and ITR is 267.85 +/- 39.36bits/min. The performance is higher than the existing high frequency SSVEP-based BCI paradigms.

The electrospinning/spray technique is a promising approach to fabricate composite films for many applications in flexible electronic devices. In this study, an elastic film with remarkable conductivity is synthesized by electrospinning TPU (thermoplastic polyurethanes) fibers and electrospraying graphene nanosheets into the single collector. This technique allows the grapheme nanosheets to adhere uniformly to a carbon textile matrix for promoting its conductivity. But the graphene is possible to be oxidized into graphene oxide during electrospray, which is attributed to the high-voltage field, the rapid evaporation of the solvent and the full exposure to air. And the spinning fibers have the potential to induce the behavior as well. The instability of graphene during the process can make an impact on the overall conductivity and uniformity of composite films. So, we set up a series of experiments on the study of oxidization behavior of graphene and its influence on the performance of composite films. With different parameters, some samples are synthesized to conduct Raman spectroscopy analysis as well as take the measurements of overall conductivity through a 4-point probe electrical conductivity device. The oxidization behavior of graphene during the electrospinning/spray process can be well characterized by the results from the Raman spectrums. And the results of electrical conductivity measurements can provide powerful evidence to ensure the great conductivity of composite films via electrospinning/spray process. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

A novel algorithm of loop nest statement instance scheduling is presented. It is based on the transitive closure of dependence graphs. The algorithm is implemented in the publicly available optimizing TRACO compiler, which allows for automatic parallelization of program loop nests and automatic generation of parallel compilable code in the OpenMP standard. Results of an experimental study demonstrate that the algorithm is able to generate parallel code for popular benchmarks and this code achieves satisfactory speed-up on modern machines. The computational complexity of the approach is low. Future algorithm improvements are discussed. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The explosive information growth facilitates the generation of increasingly massive streaming data. As a traditional soft computing approach for data analysis, Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) has the severe problem of low efficiency and long time for coping with massive streaming data. Therefore, devising an optimized efficiency algorithm of FCA for attribute-incremental streaming data is becoming a very urgent and challenging issue. In this paper, a quick algorithm on generating concept lattice for attribute-incremental streaming data is presented. Specifically, the correctness of the proposed algorithm is mathematically proved, and several real-world data sets are utilized in our experiments in order to compare with the existing two FCA algorithms. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the efficiency for generating concept lattice of attribute-incremental streaming data. Particularly, the running time could be reduced by approximately 44% for Jazz dataset. © 2019 IEEE.

This study aims to design a high-resolution dry electrode array, which can gather multi-channel Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals within a small scalp area. To investigate the independence of the multi-channel signals, the electrode array was applied to recording steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs) for a brain-computer interface (BCI) system. Currently, there is a certain contact area between the electrode and the scalp when gathering EEG signals. As a result, the acquired signal from one electrode might be a mixture of multiple components, which exhibit independent information, from the whole contact area. Therefore, a dry electrode array, which consists of multiple single-pin electrodes, might be more efficient to collect EEG signals with a spatial resolution at a millimeter scale. This study, therefore, designed a 16-channel high-resolution dry electrode array to record SSVEPs in a four-class BCI system. 16-channel EEG signals were acquired through the electrode array placed at the occipital area from four subjects. Through analyzing the relationship between the number of channels and the BCI performance, this study demonstrated that the electrode array can significantly improve the accuracy of SSVEP detection (12 channels: 88.5%, 1 channel: 80.9%, an average increase of 7.7%), verifying the independence of the SSVEP signals from a small area in the occipital region.
