Remote Memory Access (RMA) programming models enable processes running on a distributed-memory computer to access and manipulate the memory of other processes directly. Such one-sided communication has the benefit that the receiving process is not actively involved in the communication compared to the classical two-sided message-passing model. The three programming models MPI RMA, OpenSHMEM, and GASPI provide such a communication scheme. However, RMA models require the developer to synchronize the accesses with corresponding API calls correctly. Concurrent modifications of the same (remote) memory location due to wrong or missing synchronization lead to data races. Such data races are undefined behavior and may result in non-deterministic failures of the program execution. This paper presents RMASanitizer, an on-the-fly race detector for MPI RMA, OpenSHMEM, and GASPI applications. It relies on a generalized race detection model independent of the concrete RMA programming model. RMASanitizer combines a dynamic on-the-fly analysis with a static analysis at compile-time that detects and instruments only relevant memory accesses. It is implemented as part of the MPI correctness checking framework MUST which we extended with support for OpenSHMEM and GASPI. We show that RMASanitizer can detect races in MPI RMA, OpenSHMEM, and GASPI applications with an accuracy of over 95 percent by running it on the data race benchmark suite RMARaceBench. On proxy applications, the slowdown for the execution with up to 700 processes ranges from 1.1x to 30x, depending on the application, showing that our tool is applicable in practice.

Postgresql is a widely used open source database, but it pays more attention to its general functions and performance, and the data security protection measures are seriously insufficient. Aiming at the problems of database security protection such as authentication password leakage and malicious copy of data, this paper studies postgresql database security protection mechanism and the data encryption, including database security protection model, authentication password leakage protection mechanism and underlying data malicious copy protection mechanism. Postgresql's security protection scheme designed in this paper can break through the key problems such as abnormal data identification in high confusion mode, homomorphic migration of data operation and performance balance, and focus on solving two sensitive data leakage hidden dangers, such as fake login and copy & restore datas, so as to provide security for data storage. © 2023 IEEE.

In massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, data converters with low resolution are appropriate because of their low power consumption and cost. Moreover, oversampling for such systems has benefits for the achievable rate, with less increase of power consumption than high-resolution data converters. In this paper, we consider hybrid beamforming for oversampled and 1-bit quantized massive MIMO systems. Our purpose is to prove that this architecture can achieve the performance toward fully digital schemes. Numerical results also show the performance of the proposed architecture. © 2023 IEEE.

Currently, in the field of industrial parts sorting, traditional methods for sorting metal parts often depend on manual labor, resulting in low efficiency and high costs. Conventional object detection algorithms exhibit high complexity However, in the production processes of many small and medium-sized enterprises, these algorithms often fail to meet the computational power required for object detection, posing challenges for implementing parts sorting solutions based on object detection. To address this challenge, we propose a novel object detection algorithm, YOLOv8n-VLAG, derived from YOLOv8n. The model incorporates the VanillaNet network as the backbone feature extraction network, significantly reducing the parameter count of YOLOv8n. Simultaneously, it introduces the LSKA attention mechanism, enhancing accuracy while reducing the parameter count. Additionally, GhostConv is introduced in the head section, further decreasing the parameter count while enhancing performance and maintaining nearly unchanged computational complexity. Extensive experiments were conducted on a self-curated industrial parts dataset. The model's parameters and computational complexity amounted to 1.36 × 10 6 and 4.5 GFLOPs, respectively, representing only 45.3% and 55.6% of yolov8n. The average accuracy experienced a slight improvement, while the mAP decreased by only 0.4%, resulting in a reduction in the number of parameters and computational complexity at a minor expense. This study offers a viable solution for the detection of lightweight parts. © 2024 IEEE.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) emerged as a promising, non-invasive, real-time, high-resolution imaging technology for cervical cancer detection. The scarcity of high-quality annotated cervical OCT images severely hinders the predictive performance of deep learning models. In contrast, self-supervised learning (SSL) methods offer a viable solution to the above challenge. This study aims to develop a cost-effective SSL framework that efficiently classifies high-resolution cervical OCT images to meet the clinical "see-and-diagnose"requirement for cervical lesions. Therefore, we propose COVE, a novel SSL framework with masked autoencoders based on VMamba with linear complexity. To our knowledge, COVE is the first SSL framework using masked image modeling for VMamba to leverage large unlabeled cervical OCT datasets. It has two specific designs: (1) 2D-Selective-Scan for visible patches (VP-SS2D): the VMamba encoder's core module processes only visible patches for efficient pre-training and addressing the inconsistency between pre-training and fine-tuning;(2) visible patch feature-preserving (VPFP): visible patch features in each decoder block are replaced with encoder-extracted features, decoupling the encoder's feature extraction from the decoder's pixel reconstruction tasks. Experimental results showed that COVE outperformed existing SSL frameworks in five-fold cross-validation on a 1,452-subject cervical OCT dataset from a multi-center study and two external validation sets from top Chinese hospitals. Additionally, COVE demonstrated the highest pre-training efficiency, with significantly faster speed than existing SSL frameworks. © 2024 IEEE.

In this work, we demonstrate an intrinsically flexible differential amplifier with a zero-Vgs connected transistor load based on p-Type carbon nanotube thin-film transistors. The amplifier exhibits a direct current gain (DC-gain) of 34.1 dB and a unity gain bandwidth of 102 kHz. Importantly, the amplifier shows robustness with no significant degradation in performance when bending at radius of 5 mm. This flexible amplifier is highly promising for applications in soft electronics and Internet of Things analog front ends. © 2023 IEEE.

Back recognition is critical for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis screening. Existing methods mainly rely on manual work which is time-consuming and laborious and may introduce errors and mismatching impacting the accuracy of subsequent screening outcomes. In this work, we propose to utilize the Mask R-CNN network as the framework for auto-extraction of the back region on Adam's bending images. However, due to the inherent limit receptive fields, initial Mask R-CNN can hardly learn long-range dependencies which are crucial for object detection and segmentation. To this end, we introduce the explicit visual center module into Mask R-CNN. In the EVC module, a lightweight MLP is devised to extract global long-range dependencies. To compensate for MLP's lack of ability to capture features of local corner regions, a learnable visual center is incorporated. By aggregating global long-range dependencies and discriminative feature representation of local key regions, our Mask R-CNN can achieve better performance on Adam's bending images. Moreover, we collect and annotate an Adam's bending image dataset for back recognition. Experimental results on our annotated dataset demonstrate that our improved Mask R-CNN considerably improves the average precision in detection and segmentation of Mask R-CNN from 78.6% to 83.6% and 85.8% to 87.0%, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

In 2021, Tengizchevroil (TCO) initiated a pivotal standardization of business processes, data, and technology in several directions, particularly in asset management and materials management in line with Chevron’s enterprise program. Thus, digital solutions were aimed at boosting competitive performance, increasing reliability, preventing failures, managing risk and minimizing the lifecycle cost of surface assets. The central foundation for successful implementation of these solutions is high-quality data management, achieved through the automation of data clean-up and enrichment procedures using computer Vision (CV) and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies. The primary challenge faced was the significant amount of missing data in the existing ERP system. To rectify this historical issue, CV and LLM technologies were employed to reduce costs and enhance quality. The complexity of the project was heightened by the need to convert data from scanned files (PDFs) into a computer-friendly JSON format using a CV tool. The resulting deeply nested JSONs were then parsed into structured datasets and allocated to corresponding objects in the ERP system through a reliable LLM. Fifteen AI models were trained until the suitable ones were found. As a result, approximately 40,000 rows of data were gathered to enrich relevant attributes and characteristics of surface assets and materials. This innovative approach saved 100 working days for eight data analysts with engineering backgrounds, who typically process 50 attributes per day. Much fruitful work has been done on research to obtain the first results appeared in the ERP system. Copyright 2024, Society of Petroleum Engineers.

The emergence of pre-trained models marks a significant juncture for the multilingual generation, offering unprecedented capabilities to comprehend and produce text across multiple languages. These models display commendable efficiency in high-resource languages. However, their performance notably falters in low-resource languages due to the extensive linguistic diversity encountered. Moreover, the existing works lack thorough analysis impairs the discovery of effective multilingual strategies, further complicating the advancement of current multilingual generation systems. This paper aims to appraise the efficacy of multilingual generation tasks, with a focus on summarization, through three resource availability scenarios: high-resource, low-resource, and zero-shot. We classify multilingual generation methodologies into three foundational categories based on their underlying modeling principles: Fine-tuning, Parameter-isolation, and Constraint-based approaches. Following this classification, we conduct a comprehensive comparative study of these methodologies across different resource contexts using two datasets that span six languages. This analysis provides insights into the unique advantages and limitations of each method. In addition, we introduce an innovative yet simple automatic metric LANGM designed to mitigate the prevalent problem of spurious correlations associated with language mixing. LANGM accurately measures the degree of code-mixing at the language level. Finally, we highlight several challenges and suggest potential avenues for future inquiry, aiming to spur further advancements within the field of multilingual text generation. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Recently, there have been significant improvements in the quality and performance of text-to-image generation, largely due to the impressive results attained by diffusion models. However, text-to-image diffusion models sometimes struggle to create high-fidelity content for the given input prompt. One specific issue is their difficulty in generating the precise number of objects specified in the text prompt. For example, when provided with the prompt 'five apples and ten lemons on a table,' images generated by diffusion models often contain an incorrect number of objects. In this paper, we present a method to improve diffusion models so that they accurately produce the correct object count based on the input prompt. We adopt a counting network that performs reference-less class-agnostic counting for any given image. We calculate the gradients of the counting network and refine the predicted noise for each step. To address the presence of multiple types of objects in the prompt, we utilize novel attention map guidance to obtain high-quality masks for each object. Finally, we guide the denoising process using the calculated gradients for each object. Through extensive experiments and evaluation, we demonstrate that the proposed method significantly enhances the fidelity of diffusion models with respect to object count. © 2025 IEEE.
