In this we are developing a graphical user interface using MATLAB for the users to check the information related to books in real time. We are taking the photos of the book cover using GUI, then by using MSER algorithm it will automatically detect all the features from the input image, after this it will filter bifurcate non-text features which will be based on morphological difference between text and non-text regions. We implemented a text character alignment algorithm which will improve the accuracy of the original text detection. We will also have a look upon the built in MATLAB OCR recognition algorithm and an open source OCR which is commonly used to perform better detection results, post detection algorithm is implemented and natural language processing to perform word correction and false detection inhibition. Finally, the detection result will be linked to internet to perform online matching. More than 86% accuracy can be obtained by this algorithm.

This contribution deals with the textured images segmentation. The model exploits morphological operators and order filters properties. A morphological decomposition filters bank is built to isolate elementary patterns by decomposing the textural image characteristics. The 1 and 2 order statistic moments and the gradient means are computed in order to select the best feature component image which allows to perform the image segmentation. Mathematical morphology (MM) helps to describe and analyze shapes using set theory. MM can be effectively applied to binary images which are treated as sets. Basic morphological operators defined can be used as an effective tool in image processing. morphological operators are also developed based on graph and hypergraph. These operators have found better performance and applications in image processing. Bino et al. [8], [9] developed the theory of morphological operators on hypergraph. A hypergraph structure is considered and basic morphological operation erosion/dilation is defined. Several new operators opening/closing and filtering are also defined on the hypergraphs. Hypergraph based filtering have found comparatively better performance with morphological filters based on graph. In this paper we evaluate the effectiveness of hypergraph based ASF on binary images. Experimental results shows that hypergraph based ASF filters have outperformed graph based ASF.

With the introduction of more powerful and massively parallel embedded processors, embedded systems are becoming HPC-capable. Heterogeneous on-chip systems (SoC) that couple a general-purposehost processor to a many-core accelerator are becoming more and more widespread, and provide tremendous peak performance/watt, well suited to execute HPC-class programs. The increased computation potential is however traded off for ease programming. Application developers are indeed required to manually deal with outlining code parts suitable for acceleration, parallelize them efficiently over many available cores, and orchestrate data transfers to/from the accelerator. In addition, since most many-cores are organized as a collection ofclusters, featuring fast local communication but slow remote communication (i.e., to another cluster's local memory), the programmer should also take care of properly mapping the parallel computation so as to avoid poor data locality. OpenMP v4.0 introduces new constructs for computation offloading, as well as directives to deploy parallel computation in a cluster-aware manner. In this paper we assess the effectiveness of OpenMP v4.0 at exploiting the massive parallelism available in embedded heterogeneous SoCs, comparing to standard parallel loops over several computation-intensive applications from the linear algebra and image processing domains.

In this paper, an Adaptive Polar based Filtering Method is proposed for image copy-move forgery detection. In order to improve the performance of detection method, the post-processing of the matching results is worth being focused on. To filter out the redundant pixels from the initially matched pixels, two pixels sets-Symmetrical Matched Pixels set and Unsymmetrical Matched Pixels set, are extracted from the matched pixel pairs;furthermore, the polar distributions of the two sets are calculated respectively. Then, the filtering thresholds can be adaptively calculated according to the polar distribution, thus the redundant pixels can be filtered out accordingly. Finally, some morphological operations are applied to the remained pixels to generate the detected forged regions. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve much better detection results compared with the existing state-of-the-art copy-move forgery detection methods.

In this paper, we have introduced a generalized block-lifting structure using the 2-D CORDIC algorithm as a block of 4-band linear phase paraunitary filter banks (LP PUFB) based on the quaternionic algebra (Q-PUFB) for the lossy-to-lossless image coding. A bank Q-PUFB based on the 2-D CORDIC block-lifting structure reduces the number of rounding operations and has a regular layout. Since the block-lifting structures with rounding operations can implement the integer-to-integer transform (Q-PUFB). The parallel-pipelined efficient architecture ((PE)-E-2_Q-PUFB) has been proposed. The low latency separable image processing is implemented in the given architecture.

Based on saliency and grayscale morphological reconstruction, a new detection algorithm for infrared dim and small targets is proposed in this paper. The saliency of the original image to obtain the region of interest(ROI) is analyzed, then the spatial domain characteristic of dim and small targets is introduced into the marker image. Grayscale morphological reconstruction is based on the marker image and the mask image(the original image). Because saliency efficiently concentrates the gradient difference of the targets, detection probability is improved also with little false alarms. As the role of recognition, spatial domain characteristic of target reduces false alarm probability with the same detection probability, and background can be well estimated by grayscale morphological reconstruction, after subtraction, dim and small targets are detected. Experiments of real data prove the better detection performance, especially higher signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).

Segmentation is one of the important elements in image processing. There are various types of algorithms that have been developed by researchers, for segmenting the interesting area for classification and identification purposes. This paper, presents the pupil segmentation using logarithmic transformation (LT) and power law transformation (PLT). It is obviously seen in most of the work on pupil segmentation where assumption is made that the pupil has a homogeneous circular. However, there are cases where the shape of pupil is inhomogeneous, for instance, in synechia case. Therefore, the use of circumference equation such as circular Hough transforms (CHT) and Daugman's Integra-differential operator (DIDO) for section the non-uniform pupil will produce inaccurate segmentation. We propose a new method for pupil segmentation using the combination of LT and PLT algorithm in order to enhance the pupil segmentation. The morphological operators and black white (BW) removal are used the segmentation of pupil. The proposed system uses CASIA v1, CASIAv3 Interval and MMU1 iris database. The results show his method gives accurate segmentation compared to CHT or DIDO technique.

image processing represents an important challenge in different fields, especially in biomedical field. Mathematical Morphology uses concepts from set theory, geometry, algebra and topology to analyze the geometrical structure of an image. In addition, it is possible to consider methods where the starting point to analyze an image is a fuzzy relation. This paper studies three methods to image edge detection based on a construction method for interval-valued fuzzy relations which can be understood as a gradient from a morphological point of view. The performance of the proposal in detecting medical image edges is tested, showing the method performing better with regard to a least squared adjust.

Some meteorological centers stored in their facilities a lot of paper sheets containing measurements of atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity and precipitation. The meteorological measurements are shown as a continuous line drawn on a graph paper divided into periods of time. The paper sheets are in danger of being lost either by the deterioration suffered because of the passage of time, factors such as humidity or any calamity. Reading and recording of information is performed manually and therefore a considerable amount of time and effort is employed. The recovery of paper sheets will allow to have a database of images and the automatic extraction will allow to get more frequent and accurate measurement data. This paper proposes a computational method that involves digital processing and analysis of images scanned using a mathematical model for calculating the measurements. Binarization methods, morphological operators and filters were applied according to their performance metrics (accuracy, precision and error rate). The application of these procedures generated a representative curve that was introduced to the mathematical model and allowed to calculate the measurement values in the corresponding schedules. The results showed an average error of ±0,1676 hPa (hectopascal) of pressure and the average processing time per sheet is 1,03 seconds.
