This paper presents a new secure variant of ADPCM encoders that are adopted by the CCITT as Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation. This version provides encryption and decryption of voice simultaneously with operations ADPCM encoding and decoding. The evaluation of the scheme showed better performance in terms of speed and security.

Digital watermarking has been recently proposed as the mean for property right protection of digital products, In this paper we analyze the self-similarities of wavelet transform and present a new approach to embed a digital signature into an image based on self-similarities in detail signals of discrete wavelet transform of the image for the purpose of protecting the copyright of the image. The signature embedded using this method is retrievable only by the mean of protected information. Our studies have shown that the watermarked image has a good quality of image, and such a watermark is difficult to detect and unchangeable without the appropriate user cryptogram.

Coarseness is the most fundamental textural feature and has been much investigated since early studies. This paper improves the previous coarseness algorithm on the selection of neighborhood sizes and the calculation of neighborhood average differences, and the improved coarseness algorithm is presented. Experiments show that the improved coarseness has higher texture discriminability and better rotation invariance, and that the image retrieval result based on the improved coarseness is superior to that based on the previous coarseness.

Fractal image coding represented the static image data with parameters of dynamic iterating processes and was able to break through the theoretical limitation of entropy coding. It had attracted wide interests of many researchers. In this paper, we applied fractal coding to multispectral remote sensing image compression and made some improvements to the quad-tree-partition based fractal coding method according to the properties of multispectral remote sensing images. For the improvements, the same partition scheme was assigned to images in different bands. In addition, the size of the searching space of affine transform was diminished to further improve the compression ratio and also the coding speed by making use of the spectral correlation. Experimental results showed that the proposed method could improve the performances of the quad-tree-partition based fractal coding algorithm obviously. Satisfactory results were obtained. Keywords: multispectral remote sensing image, image compression, fast fractal coding, quad-tree partition, sharing quad-tree partition, supervised matching, near-lossless compression, lossless compression, JPEG, DPCM.

Consider an image that has been encrypted uncompressed. The data compression algorithms are ineffective because the encryption masks the source. To reduce the size, distributed source coding technique is used without requiring the data be compressed prior to encryption. Under some reasonable condition, neither the security nor the compression efficiency will be sacrificed by performing compression in the encrypted domain. The design and analysis of a practical lossless image codec, where the image data undergoes stream-cipher based encryption before compression. An efficient way to compress encrypted images is through Resolution-progressive compression (RPC), where RPC can be used for both interframe and intraframe correlation. Lossless compression of encrypted sources can be achieved through Slepian-Wolf Coding. This work proposes a resolution progressive compression scheme which compresses an encrypted image progressively in resolution, such that the decoder can observe a low-resolution version of the image as well as video, study local statistics based on it, and use the statistics to decode the next resolution level. The system is implemented by using Mat lab. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper describes a triple-layered watermarking scheme employing KLT and two layers of discrete cosine transforms, with data shuffled pseudo-randomly prior to the second DCT. In this way, the watermark is imperceptibly and robustly embedded into a set of multispectral images. The watermark is extractable without original host images. Simulation experiments are carried out to study the anti-attack performance. It is shown that the proposed technique is applicable to color and remote sensed multispectral images.

In this paper, we study a new strategy to embed watermarks to the scale subband of image wavelet transform domain. The coefficients in scale subband are much bigger than most coefficients in other subband. This means the coefficients in scale subband have higher perceptual capacity than coefficients in other subband to embed watermarks. We also use nonlinear wavelet transform derived from lifting scheme to get bigger scale subband coefficients. The experiment result shows the scheme is robust enough and the image watermarking algorithm using nonlinear wavelet transform is more robust than algorithms using usual wavelet transform.

In this paper the method is presented to retrieve based on image content in video database using DC-image. The DC-image with the DC coefficient is extracted from DCT domain of image in this video database model. The principle of DC-image and three different extraction methods of the DC-image from MPEG video stream are described. With the DC-image, temporary segmentation of compress video is realized depending the histogram of DC-image. Comparing the performance of three extracting methods and analyzing the result of DC-image extracted by different methods, we propose a video database structure and feature extraction method. To create the uniform indexing for video clip, the expression format of frame is developed by normalized histogram of DC-image.

Security attacks through Internet has proliferated in recent years. Henceforth, information security is a challenge of very serious global concern of the present time. The protection of image data from unauthorized access is very essential encryption methods are exceptionally valuable tools to secure secret data. In this work a Effective secret communication using image encryption based on affine transformation has been proposed The multimedia encryption method which has partial encryption capability, very slight bit-rate overhead acceptable security level and also which is robust to the lossy compression. Embracing diverse cryptographic algorithms in modern digital communication frameworks utilizing an assortment of techniques ensures confidentiality. These communications were military by nature, however today with the expansion of individual communication frameworks;communication secrecy has value in military as well as civilian communication scenarios. Digital encryption is the main element to ensure the secure transmission of a message. To overcome information security issue presents an effective secret communication in preventing cyber crimes using affine transformation in this work.

This paper proposes a digital image compression-encryption scheme based on the theory of singular value decomposition, multiple chaos and Beta function, which uses SVD to compress the digital image and utilizes three way protections for encryption viz. logistic and Arnold map along with the beta function. The algorithm has three advantages: First, the compression scheme gives the freedom to a user so that one can select the desired compression level according to the application with the help of singular value. Second, it includes a confusion mechanism wherein the pixel positions of image are scrambled employing Cat Map. The pixel location is shuffled, resulting in a cipher text image that is safe for communication. Third the key is generated with the help of logistic map which is nonlinear and chaotic in nature therefore highly secured. Fourth the beta function used for encryption is symmetric in nature which means the order of its parameters does not change the outcome of the operation, meaning faithful reconstruction of an image. Thus, the algorithm is highly secured and also saving the storage space as well. The experimental results show that the algorithm has the advantages of faithful reconstruction with reasonable PSNR on different singular values. © 2021 IEEE.
