Railway plays a leading role in the field of transportation in China and shoulders the important mission of driving the development of national economy. In view of the changeable environment of railway track, the processing algorithm with good real-time performance, strong robustness and high accuracy in the process of foreign body detection is the key to achieve rapid detection. In order to facilitate researchers to compare and analyze the effects of relevant algorithms intuitively and quickly, the GUI visual interactive interface was used to design the simulation platform for track foreign object imageprocessing, conceive the design process, build the overall design of the platform, and divide the static foreign object detection and moving target detection modules according to the realization functions. In the static foreign body detection module, the image of track foreign body is input to determine whether there is track foreign body and give early warning. Meanwhile, the processing effect of different algorithms can be visually compared through the operation results. In the moving target detection module, the moving target in the input video is marked and tracked. The test results of the simulation platform show that the processing platform is simple and easy to operate, and can effectively assist researchers to deepen the understanding and application of orbital foreign object imageprocessing.

This paper presents a real-time embedded thermal imaging system architecture for compact, energy-efficient, high-quality imaging utilizing heterogeneous system-on-chip (SoC) and uncooled infrared focal plane arrays (IRFPAs). Unlike previous systems that organized separate devices for complex imageprocessing, our system provides integrated imageprocessing support for robust sensor-to-surveillance. The imageprocessing organizes two algorithm stacks: a non-uniformity correction stack to mitigate the distinctive noise vulnerabilities of uncooled IRFPAs, and an image enhancement stack including contrast enhancement and temporal noise filters. We optimized these algorithms for domain-specific factors, including asymmetric multiprocessing (AMP), cache organization, single instruction multiple data (SIMD) instructions, and very long instruction word (VLIW) architectures. The implementation on the TI TDA3x SoC demonstrates that our system can process 640×480, 60 frames per second (FPS) videos at a peak core load of 57.5% while consuming power less than 2.2 W for the entire system, denoting the possibility of processing the 1280×1024, 30 FPS videos from the cutting-edge uncooled IRFPAs. Additionally, our system improves power efficiency by 9.42% and 9.96% at 30 and 60 FPS, respectively, compared to the state-of-the-art when executing similar imageprocessingalgorithms.

The authors present the development of eyewear that incorporates stereoscopic and thermal imaging cameras for the purpose of highlighting objects/views of interest. imageprocessingalgorithms that simplify complex elements in a scene have the ability to improve the utility of blind and low vision aids. Thermal imaging can be used to highlight important objects such as people or animals, while stereoscopic imaging can be used to filter background imagery beyond a certain distance. The methods used have been successful in providing utility to retinal prosthesis users. The stereoscopic camera systems involved strict requirements on the relative orientation of the cameras for calibrated distance filtering. A mechanical design is presented that fixes the relative camera locations on a 3D printed titanium structure that can float in the frame to maintain orientations even when the eyewear is flexed during wearing.

Gait as a biometric has become a popular research topic in recent years as a result of its numerous applications in sectors such as surveillance, authentication, and so on. It is capable of achieving detection at a distance that few other technologies can equal. It is still a difficult problem to solve since real human gait is influenced by several variable elements such as alterations in clothing, speed, and carrying situation. Also, unknown covariate circumstances may impact the training and testing settings for a specific individual in gait recognition. image sequences are typically used by computer-aided gait recognition systems without taking into account variables such as clothes and the contents of carrier bags while on the move. In this work, we provide a technique for selecting gait energy image-based (GEI) features, that is both effective and robust. The covariate factors have less impact on the given gait representation. A simple ten-layered convolutional neural network (CNN) is designed which intakes GEI as input. Several typical variations and occlusions that impact and worsen gait recognition ability are less susceptible to the suggested method. For both clothing and mobility variations, we used the CASIA datasets to assess our observations. The experimental findings reveal that in numerous circumstances, the deep neural network model created in this study achieved better results when compared with other existing algorithms.
