In this paper, we focus on the problem of bridge crack detection. In view of the characteristics of bridge cracks, such as the existence of multiple scales and shapes, and the interference of complex backgrounds and different illumination conditions on the surface of bridges, we select the bridge crack images covering different scales, types, and illumination conditions to construct a dataset, and then carry out the image enhancement processes, such as rotating, randomly erasing, and adjusting the brightness and contrast of the cracks. Three deep learning algorithms, ResNet18, MobileNetV2 and EfficientNetB0, are selected for the experiments, and the performance of the models is evaluated by comparing the F1 scores, recall rates, confusion matrices, and observed loss curves. The results show that the proposed data processing and deep learning modeling strategy is effective in bridge crack detection, and the classification effect reaches a high level, providing a feasible method for bridge crack detection.

iSUKAT represents a groundbreaking web-based application that harnesses advanced image recognition technology, specifically Roboflow 3.0 Instance Segmentation with a COCO-seg checkpoint, to revolutionize foot measurement and shoe selection. By employing sophisticated machine learning algorithms, the system accurately captures and analyzes foot dimensions, identifying foot types and shoe brands with high precision. The application directly addresses the critical issue of improper shoe sizing, which impacts 63-72% of consumers and leads to significant discomfort and potential foot health problems. Utilizing a comprehensive evaluation methodology based on ISO 25010 quality standards, the research assessed the system's performance through quantitative metrics including Mean Average Precision for foot detection and segmentation, instance segmentation accuracy, and real-time image processing inference time. The empirical results were notably impressive, with the system achieving excellent ratings across key performance domains: Functional Appropriateness scored 3.35/4.00, Usability reached 3.26/4.00, and Reliability was evaluated at 3.31/4.00, resulting in an overall system acceptance of 3.21/4.00, which was classified as satisfactory. The application strategically addresses e-commerce shoe shopping challenges by providing personalized recommendations based on precise foot measurements. However, the research also revealed nuanced performance insights, with only 11.6% of users strongly agreeing on measurement precision, while 40.5% expressed concerns about measurement accuracy. Despite these challenges, the study ultimately underscores iSUKAT's transformative potential in digital footwear selection, presenting an innovative solution that seamlessly integrates advanced image recognition, machine learning, and user-centric design to dramatically enhance the online shoe shopping experience. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a two-channel forward set-membership normalized subband (TC-F-SM-SB-NLMS) algorithm for acoustic noise reduction. By incorporating set-membership technique, the computational complexity in updating the two cross-filters is reduced, while combining it with subband normalized adaptive filtering ensures high noise reduction performance. The proposed algorithm is compared with the two-channel forward normalized least mean square (TC-F-NLMS), its set-membership variant (TC-F-SM-NLMS), and the two-channel forward subband normalized least mean square (TC-F-SB-NLMS) algorithms. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms these algorithms in terms of computational complexity and segmental signal-to-noise ratio (Seg-SNR) for acoustic noise reduction.

Store separation flight tests are fundamental to ensure the safe separation between the store and the aircraft. However, this activity is considered high-risk, high-cost, and can take days and a large number of devices to be executed. Therefore, any reduction of time or equipment brings advantages in terms of both efficiency and cost. This paper proposes a methodology to evaluate the performance of different tracking algorithms in fixed hardware architectures, such as CPU and GPU, as well as in reconfigurable hardware architectures, i.e. FPGA. Our methodology takes into account important features such as computer performance metrics, object tracking precision and effectiveness, and flight test environment. Our proposal allows a comparison between architecture performance and effectiveness while executing the tracking algorithms with real-time constraints.

Lane detection is critical in autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), furnishing vital information for vehicle navigation and safety. The study introduces lane detection methodology leveraging established image processing techniques within the image transformation frameworks, including the study of kernels. This approach accurately detects lane markings in real-time images or video streams with the help of Gaussian blur and Canny edge detection. The system's evaluation primarily focuses on structured roads under standard conditions, demonstrating its efficacy in such environments. However, the potential for enhancing vehicle autonomy and safety across varied driving scenarios remains prominent. Leveraging image transformation capabilities and the insights gained from kernel studies, this research advances computer vision applications in the automotive sector, facilitating the evolution of more intelligent and adaptable driving systems. Furthermore, the study introduces a method for assessing the accuracy of the detected lanes by calculating the intersection over union (IOU).

Traditional motion capture systems are prone to environmental interference, resulting in noise and errors in the captured data. This article proposes an artificial intelligence oriented intelligent processing algorithm for motion capture data, which improves the quality of motion capture data and reduces noise and errors. This article utilizes sensors to collect a large amount of motion timing data and motion image data, preprocesses the data, and constructs a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) model. By using the CNN model to extract features from images, this paper uses the LSTM model to analyze temporal data, fuses the output of LSTM and CNN, and finally estimates the motion attitude. The data results of the test set indicate that the average mean square error of motion attitude estimation using the CNN-LSTM model is only 0.03. The use of the CNN-LSTM model can effectively improve the performance of motion data pose analysis.

Several watermarking techniques are proposed to protect the copyrights of digital contents. However, most of the current watermarking algorithms neglect the need of real time and resisting malicious geometric attacks. Our paper proposes a robust color image zero-watermarking scheme based on the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and discrete cosine transform (DCT) domain with significant feature points matching for automatic rotation, scaling, translation factors in order to restore the attacked images before extracting zero-watermark. Firstly, the original image is separated into three components (Y, Cr, Cb), Then, the Y-component is performed by DWT, afterwards its LL3 is transformed with DCT. The DCT image is binarized in order to generate the mastershare. Moreover, Arnold transform is employed to scramble the watermark logo to enhance the security of the algorithm. Finally, we obtain the ownership share by performing the exclusive-or (XOR) operation between the mastershare and the scrambled watermark image, and the ownership share is stored in the copyright database for copyright authentication. In order to recover geometric attacks, we employ the robust feature points matching technique to correction algorithm without using the original image to accurately correct the attacked image. The robustness of the our proposed algorithm for imaging processes is analyzed, and the results show that the proposed algorithm is robust to common signal processing such as noise, filtering, JPEG compression, geometric attacks such as rotation, scaling, translation and so on.

This paper introduces an enhanced approach for the control of hybrid sources, specifically fuel cells and batteries, within a hybrid electric vehicle. The proposed enhancement involves integrating the Gray Wolf Optimization algorithm with the passive-based control technique. The primary aim of this research is to enhance the operational characteristics of the studied system that is governed by the passivity-based control approach. This enhancement is achieved by optimizing the damping matrix parameter using the Gray Wolf Optimization algorithm. It is noteworthy that prior studies utilizing this technique did not address its impact, considering it a stochastic value ranging from 0 to 1. The central focus remains on proficiently and effectively managing the energy exchange between the two sources. Through Simulink-Matlab simulations, the outcomes underscore the influence of the damping matrix parameter on the overall dynamic performance of the system. Moreover, these results emphasize its pivotal role in achieving tracking precision and system robustness. This research constitutes a significant advancement in the realm of sophisticated control methodologies for hybrid power sources. Furthermore, it lays the groundwork for future investigations and the potential implementation of supplementary energy management strategies based on this innovative technique.

Fruit recognition and grading are essential steps in fruit quality screening. In this research, a novel approach that combines the power of Canny edge detection and K-means clustering algorithms for fruit quality grading is proposed. The application of multi-channel clustering to process fruit images enables effective separation of the main body and background, followed by feature extraction through contour detection and filtering. Moreover, a Transfer Learning model utilizing an 18-layer residual neural network is trained to perform fruit classification, while digital image processing techniques are employed to extract relevant image features for fruit grading. To evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of our method, a dataset of 2,000 images was utilize to conduct the fruit recognition and grading experiments using Matlab software. The experimental results using apple samples show that our approach achieves a recognition accuracy of 95% and reduces processing time to less than one second, significantly improving efficiency in real-time applications.

The research aims to improve subsurface image accuracy, ensuring underground pipeline system safety and integrity.
