Autonomous systems face significant challenges due to fluctuating resources and unstable environments, where traditional redundancy strategies for resilience can be inefficient. We present the Reflex pattern, inspired by biological reflexes, promoting system resilience by dynamically adapting to changing resource conditions. By switching between complex and resource-efficient algorithms based on availability, the pattern optimizes efficient resource utilization without extensive redundancy, ensuring essential functionalities remain operational under constraints. To facilitate adoption, we introduce ReflexLang, a domain-specific language (DSL) enabling automated code generation for reflex-pattern-based systems. We validate the pattern's effectiveness in a drone image processing scenario, demonstrating its potential to enhance operational integrity and resilience.

The number of newly diagnosed cases of breast cancer exceeds 2.3 million annually worldwide. There is a severe lack of valid prognostic and predictive indicators for the clinical treatment of breast cancer patients at the present time. In order to decrease the mortality rate and increase the survival time of breast cancer patients, early detection of this deadly disease is crucial. Improving breast cancer prognosis relies on the analysis and processing of mammography data, the gold standard for screening and early detection. In order to detect breast cancer in mammograms, the Fuzzy C-means algorithm is employed for image segmentation. Next, we train it to identify the characteristics of the segmented regions, and then we use an effective classifier to categorise the trained pictures into their respective mammography classes. This research used the Breast Cancer Wisconsin Diagnostic dataset and two ML algorithms: K-Nearest Neighbours (KNN) and Random Forest. After getting the results, we compared and evaluated the performance of these two classifiers. Potentially useful tools for both early diagnosis and treatment planning include breast cancer prediction models that account for a wide range of risk factors. Effective disease management involves the collection, storage, and administration of many data sets, as well as intelligent systems based on several aspects for the prediction of breast cancer. © 2025 IEEE.

Constructive approaches, principles, models for optimizing the identification of micro-objects based on the use of statistical, dynamic models with mechanisms for filtering noise, foreign particles on images of medical objects and pollen grains have been developed. Methods for optimizing the identification of micro-objects with the selection of characteristic objects in the image, the combination of image models with the mechanisms of segmentation, filtering, transformation, and alignment of the laser image processing zone with the CAD model are proposed. algorithms for selecting the contours of objects on an image using a border detector in the transverse direction to each vector of the CAD model have been developed. Modeling of images of microsamples for medical diagnostics of chest diseases was carried out. The width, straightness of the boundaries of structural objects, local defects, parameters of regulation and synchronization of the components of the vision system are determined. algorithms for image processing under conditions of a priori insufficiency, uncertainty of parameters, and low accuracy of data processing are studied. A mechanism for suppressing impulse noise and noise is implemented based on various filtering methods, preserving the boundaries of objects and small-sized parts. Mathematical expressions for estimating identification errors due to non-stationarity, inadequacy of approximation, interpolation, extrapolation of the image contourare obtained, which are synthesized with cubic, biquadratic, interpolation spline functions and wavelet transforms. A software package for recognition and classification of micro-objects has been developed.

Satellite edge computing (SatEC) is an emerging computing paradigm for remote and disaster-affected areas with scarce computing resources. It is crucial to make the appropriate offloading strategy to maximize quality of service (QoS) due to the scarcity of satellite computing resources. However, existing researches mostly focus on the offloading of independent tasks without considering tasks with dependencies. To address this problem, we first design a satellite-aerial task offloading (SATO) framework. In the SATO, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) collect ground tasks and upload them to high-altitude platform (HAP), while HAP provides local computing, and low earth orbit (LEO) satellites provide edge computing. Furthermore, we propose SatEC directed acyclic graph (DAG) task offloading (SECDTO) algorithm to investigate the task offloading problem. Specifically, we model tasks with dependencies as a DAG, then we propose an encoder-decoder model with attention based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to translate graph vector information into offloading strategies. In order to maximize QoS, we use proximal policy optimization (PPO) to train the model. Simulation results show that our method converges quickly and stably during the training process and outperforms several baseline algorithms in terms of QoS@. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Recently, coupled tensor decomposition has been widely used in data fusion of a hyperspectral image (HSI) and a multispectral image (MSI) for hyperspectral super-resolution (HSR). However, exsiting works often ignore the inherent non-negative (NN) property of the image data, or impose the NN constraint via hard-thresholding which may interfere with the optimization procedure and cause the method to be sub-optimal. As such, we propose a novel NN coupled canonical polyadic decomposition (NN-C-CPD) algorithm, which makes use of the parametric method and nonlinear least squares (NLS) framework to impose the NN constraint into the C-CPD computation. More exactly, the NN constraint is converted into the squared relationship between the NN entries of the factor matrices and a set of latent parameters. Based on the chain rule for deriving the derivatives, the key entities such as gradient and Jacobian with regards to the latent parameters can be derived, thus the NN constraint is naturally integrated without interfering with the optimization procedure. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed NN-C-CPD algorithm in HSR applications.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been a key research area since the 1950s, initially focused on using logic and reasoning to create systems that understand language, control robots, and offer expert advice. With the rise of big data and deep learning, AI has advanced in applications like recommendation systems, image recognition, and machine translation, primarily through optimizing loss functions in deep neural networks to improve accuracy and reduce training *** descent is the core optimization method but faces challenges like slow convergence and local minima. To overcome these, algorithms like Momentum, AdaGrad, RMSProp, Adadelta, Adam, and Nadam have been developed, introducing momentum and adaptive learning rates to accelerate convergence. This paper presents a new optimization algorithm that combines the strengths of Adam and AdaGrad, offering better adaptability to different learning rates.

To enhance robotic fruit harvesting systems, the proposed methodology uses image processing techniques to recognize orange stems. The method highlights only the stem of an orange fruit in an image by utilizing gray-scale conversion, contour-based filtering, Gaussian blur, and Canny edge recognition. The technique can be incorporated into agricultural robots to improve fruit harvesting accuracy. After detecting the fruit stem, it is crucial to ensure precise cutting of the fruit to prevent damage to both the fruit and the tree. The paper also assesses the performance of the method in terms of robustness in complicated situations and detection accuracy, demonstrating its potential for real-world agricultural applications.

Accurate detail extraction from infrared images is fundamental for subsequent analysis tasks such as target detection, fault diagnosis, and thermal anomaly identification, as these details often contain critical information about object boundaries, thermal variations, and potential defects. However, extracting fine details from such images remains challenging due to their inherent characteristics of low contrast, high noise, and complex parameter tuning requirements in traditional processing methods. This paper proposes a novel high dynamic range infrared image detail extraction method addressing the difficulties of traditional infrared image processing in detail extraction and parameter adjustment. Based on grouped deformable convolution and depth-wise separable convolution, we propose a lightweight adaptive feature sampling module (LAFSM) that can effectively achieve precise detail and basic component separation of high-bit infrared images. Compared with traditional algorithms, our method requires no manual parameter adjustment and significantly reduces parameter count. Experimental results demonstrate that this method performs excellently in high-bit infrared image detail extraction, with significant advantages in edge preservation and noise suppression, providing a new technical approach for high dynamic range infrared image preprocessing.

We introduce a real-time undersampled dynamic MRI algorithm, termed FewShot-AltGDmin-MRI, that is generalizable: works for many different applications and sampling trajectories without any application-specific parameter tuning. FS-AGM-MRI operates in real-time after processing the first short mini-batch, i.e., it can provide a reconstruction of each new image frame as soon as the MRI scan data for that frame arrives. It also provides a second set of improved quality reconstructions after a short delay. We compare our algorithm against many state of the art batch MRI algorithms, including Deep Learning (DL) based ones, on 17 different retrospectively undersampled datasets and two prospective datasets. FS-AGM-MRI is the only approach that provides accurate recovery for all datasets while also being one of the fastest.

Deep unfolding compressive sensing (CS) has experienced remarkable advancements. However, there still exist two challenges: (1) Many algorithms either use uniform block-based sampling, which ignore the fact that the content of different blocks is different, or allocate the sampling rate referring to complete signal before CS sampling, which is not always feasible in real-world scenarios. (2) Traditional CNN is difficult to capture broader contextual priors during iterative recovery. In this paper, we propose a novel network ASMFNet to solve the above two issues. Specifically, to address the first issue, we introduce a dual-branch network featuring a basic sampling branch to acquire reference image and an adaptive sampling branch by median filtering for allocating remaining sampling rate adaptively. For the second problem, we use Swin Transformer and feature fusion block to increase the feature interactions. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms existing methods.
