This paper explores the enhancement of convolutional image processing on a RISC-V based architecture through the implementation of branch prediction (BP) techniques. Con-volution, a critical operation in image processing, is essential for tasks such as edge detection, blurring, and feature extraction. Efficient execution of convolution operations, particularly in a RISC-V architecture, requires effective BP to minimize delays caused by conditional operations. This study presents the development of a 5-stage pipelined 32-bit RISC-V processor, integrated with a 2-bit saturating counter branch predictor using a Branch History Table (BHT). The efficiency of the RISC-V processor was evaluated by synthesizing and implementing it using xilinx Vivado on the Kintex- 7 KC705 Evaluation Platform and testing with a convolution algorithm written in assembly language. Experimental results demonstrate that optimizing BP significantly improves the execution efficiency of convolution operations, making it a promising approach for advanced image processing applications.

Restoration of images affected by severe weather conditions like heavy fog is indeed a current and significant topic within the field of computer vision. Despite the good performance of existing image dehazing methods, most rely on synthetic datasets due to the difficulty of obtaining real hazy images. These synthetic datasets lack the complexity found in real foggy conditions, leading to poor generalization of the dehazing algorithms. Moreover, existing end-to-end dehazing methods, which are often based on general frameworks for image inpainting or translation, do not adequately account for the unique characteristics of hazy images. This results in color distortion and incomplete dehazing with some fog remaining. To address these issues, we propose a novel image dehazing framework guided by prior information, comprising a physical prior module and an image prior module. Extensive experiments confirms that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance across various dehazing datasets.

This paper presents a multilevel algorithm specifically designed for radio-interferometric imaging in astronomy. The proposed algorithm is used to solve the uSARA (unconstrained Sparsity Averaging Reweighting Analysis [2]–[4]) formulation of this image restoration problem. Multilevel algorithms rely on a hierarchy of approximations of the objective function to accelerate its optimization. In contrast to the usual multilevel approaches where this hierarchy is derived in the parameter space, here we construct the hierarchy of approximations in the observation space. The proposed approach is compared to a reweighted forward-backward procedure, which is the backbone iteration scheme for solving the uSARA problem.

Based on YOLOv5 object detection algorithm, fruit images are extracted from complex backgrounds in response to occlusion of branches and leaves, fruit overlap, and light effects caused by environment. Method of adding center coordinate value of image based on prediction box of fruit image determines centroid coordinate of target image. Then, by optimizing the focus camera and using Zhang Youzheng's calibration method, the image is calibrated using Matlab calibration box. Obtained image is stereo corrected using local stereo matching algorithm to obtain three-dimensional coordinates of centroid of target fruit, which are then converted into physical coordinates for positioning, After actual measurement, a positioning result with an error of ± 20mm was obtained, confirming its applicability for practical positioning operations.

This work proposes a computational algorithm to convert digital files containing electrocardiogram (ECG) information into 1D signals. Many medical databases have in storage files containing ECG information that is not easy to process for computational algorithms. Digitization by the proposed method makes it possible to modernize the databases of many health centers in order to perform post-processing of the signals obtained. This method is based on applying digital signal processing techniques to images obtained from a PDF file produced by an electrocardiograph. The proposed algorithm takes into consideration the thickness of the printed signal in the PDF image so that it does not introduce distortion in the final 1D signal. Due to the distribution of the ECG signals on the PDF files the algorithm identifies and segments the signals on 2 dimensions. The results show that the proposed method can correctly reproduce the information of the ECG waves captured in the PDF file regardless of the elements outside the ECG signal such as the background grid or the different information indicators, whether they are labels or references of the ECG signals. The algorithm has an accuracy of 95% based on the statistical analysis performed for all samples.

In satellite and drone imaging, a huge amount of data is generated; therefore, image compression should be done efficiently. This hybrid algorithm document deals with Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) based approaches for effective image compression with quality preservation. The proposed approach will be suitable for satellite and drone images since it reduces the cost of storage and transmission. The simulations demonstrate that, for the same amount of distortion, the algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms by as much as above 48% in compression ratio or up to ten times in processing speed. This is enabled by the effective combination of strengths between lossy and lossless techniques in solving some unique challenges about satellite and drone systems, including limited resources and real-time processing. Therefore, this may be an effective means of boosting image compression in remote sensing.

Real-time state estimation of dynamic systems is a basic task in control theory and signal processing. Kalman filter is a minimum complex optimal state estimator for linear state space models with fully known system parameters, which is widely used in industrial production. However, in practical problems, accurate models and linear state-space models are often difficult to satisfy. In this paper, by combining reinforcement learning and Kalman filter, an adaptive strategy of state space model is designed based on PPO algorithm to improve the performance of state estimation under the inaccuracy conditions of the system model. The algorithm is called Reinforcement Learning Kalman filter algorithm (RLKF). Finally, we prove by numerical results that the Reinforcement Learning Kalman filtering algorithm overcomes the model mismatch and nonlinearity, and the accuracy is better than the traditional filtering algorithm.

Massive images in Internet networks provides rich cover objects for covert communication using digital steganography. However, the lossy processing such as image compressing and image scaling often take place in some network platforms, which makes the existing image steganography algorithms designed for lossless environment unusable for lossy network platforms. Based on singular value decomposition (SVD) in stationary wavelet domain, a robust and adaptive image steganography algorithm is proposed, which can resist lossy image compression and extract the embedded secret message correctly. First, stationary wavelet transformation is performed for cover image, and the low-frequency subband is divided into non-overlapping blocks, and SVD is performed for each block; second, considering the stability of maximum singular value, the cover elements are extracted by applying a adaptive quantization index modulation (QIM) process on the maximum singular values; third, the embedding distortion function is defined according to the influence of the cover element change on the inter-block and intra-block wavelet coefficients, and the secret messages are embedded using syndrome-trellis code (STCs); finally, the adaptive QIM is used to embed the secret elements and generate the stego image. The experimental results show that the proposed steganography algorithm has better robustness and stronger anti-detection capabilities.

Load forecasting is crucial to the stable operation of the power system, BP neural network and LSTM are commonly used for forecasting. However, BP neural network is prone to gradient disappearance or gradient explosion problems, while LSTM is more complex. In order to avoid the shortcomings of the above algorithms, this paper proposes to use the Dung Beetle Optimization (DBO) to optimize the parameters of the Deep Extreme Learning Machine (DELM) model. Firstly, the parameters of DELM are set, and the structural parameters of DELM are input into the dung beetle optimization algorithm in the form of a dictionary for iterative optimization to prevent DELM from falling into the local optimal solution; secondly, the obtained global optimal parameters are used to construct and train DELM load forecasting model; finally, the model is verified with real data from oil field photovoltaic power stations. Experimental results show that the DBO-DELM model performs better in terms of load forecast accuracy and algorithm complexity.
