With the development of internet and communication technology, Quality of Service has become an important indicator to measure and manage network performance, in order to meet the needs of diversified network applications, solve the problem of network congestion and meet the needs of users. At the same time, SRv6, as an extended protocol based on IPv6, provides the possibility of innovation and development for the network architecture through flexible routing and service customization. P4, as a data plane programming language that has emerged in recent years, has excellent programmability and adaptability for designing high-performance network systems. In depth study of QoS and SRv6 will provide new ideas and solutions for network optimization, user experience improvement and network sustainable development. © 2023 IEEE.

controlling voltage source inverters (VSIs) is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of inverter-based systems. Model predictive control (MPC), notably finite control set MPC (FCS-MPC), is increasingly recognized as an effective control strategy within power electronics, particularly for addressing multi-objective control problems. This article proposes a novel approach for controlling voltage source inverters using a simplified FCS-MPC scheme with common-mode voltage (CMV) reduction, limited switching frequency, and optimized weighting factors (WFs). The proposed method simplifies the MPC controller by replacing the computational burden of current predictions with a single voltage reference estimation, thereby reducing computational complexity. Moreover, offline optimization based on the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm ii (NSGA-ii) is employed to determine optimized weighting factors for the cost function, as well as enhance the controller's performance. For further alleviation of computational burden, the controller is imitated using an artificial neural network (ANN) trained offline with data labeled by the original FCS-MPC algorithm. A simulation study is presented to control both conventional two-level VSI (2L-VSI) and three-level neutral point clamped (3L-NPC) inverters to demonstrate the effectiveness and validity of the proposed method. The results underline that the ANN imitator of simplified MPC reduces computational complexity while maintaining performance comparable to optimal control. © 2024 IEEE.

Strong systems for regulating and safeguarding online activity are required due to the tremendous potential and difficulties brought about by the internet's fast expansion. In order to successfully restrict and manage internet use, this research article investigates the use of access control strategies. In order to reduce security risks and improve user responsibility, the research focuses on creating a thorough framework that incorporates access control measures. Using a multifaceted approach, the suggested system combines dynamic access control rules, Attribute-Based Access control (ABAC), and Role-Based Access control (RBAC). By using these strategies, companies may have fine-grained control over user rights and customize access privileges according to user roles, characteristics, and contextual variables. The system also uses behavior analysis and anomaly detection to spot and handle unusual user activity, which improves the system's overall security posture. Additionally, the study looks at the real-world effects of putting such a system in place in a variety of contexts, including public Wi-Fi networks, educational institutions, and business networks. performance evaluations, usability tests, and real-world deployment scenarios are all part of a comprehensive review of the suggested framework that verifies its effectiveness in various settings. The research's results add to the expanding corpus of knowledge on internet use management by providing a sophisticated grasp of the potential and difficulties related to access control strategies. © 2023 IEEE.

The Simple network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a networking protocol used for the management and monitoring of all connected devices in internet standard protocol networks. Recently, the utilization and capability of SNMP has been enhanced to be able to handle data exchange across a network from the control level to the human machine interface level. Some controllers, including micro-controllers, have upgraded their features and coverage to include SNMP in their communications protocol. The utilization of SNMP is also supported by Open Platform Communications (OPC) Server, which plays an important role as data exchange server for various controllers or systems with different gateways and drivers. This paper presents the performance assessment of SNMP implementation in a network, from controller to OPC server, comparing hardwired and wireless automation architectures. The results show that in both cases the round-Trip times (RTT) of SNMP were acceptable according to network criteria, with an average of less than 100 ms. Hence, SNMP is suitable as an industrial automation protocol. © 2023 IEEE.

networks deployed for internet of Agricultural Things (IoAT) applications are often deployed in remote areas with limited coverage and a lack of standardization across sensing devices, posing challenges to reliable connectivity and resilient data exchange. The IEEE 802.11ah standard, commonly known as Wi-Fi HaLow, offers the potential for wide coverage and support for a large number of IoAT devices. However, such protocol still faces efficiency suboptimalities in channel utilization, particularly when handling heterogeneous IoT applications with diverse Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. To address these challenges, in this paper we propose SoftFarmNet, a reconfigurable IEEE 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLow) network management architecture, specifically designed for remote monitoring and control of agricultural-based IoAT. SoftFarmNet leverages a network traffic prediction-based slot scheduling and station grouping scheme to enhance channel utilization and support different QoS requirements of IoAT applications. The proposed architecture integrates Software-defined networking (SDN) at the edge, enabling configuration of low-level Wi-Fi HaLow parameters and the management of multiple network slices to dynamically meet application requirements. Our performance evaluation demonstrates substantial improvements in throughput, delay, and energy consumption, effectively optimizing channel usage, with respect to state-of-the-art solutions.

The significant roles, technical advantages, and high efficiency of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems have led to their global application. In most cases, the HVDC network improves the utilization of HVAC systems by connecting two distinct but complementary technical features. A regulated converter circuit serves as the join point system for connecting HVAC lines to HVDC. There are detrimental impacts on the electrical power quality of the systems linked on either end of the HVDC network, despite the use's significance and the link's considerable advantages. Both conventional and alternative approaches have been considered and implemented to improve the electrical grid's subpar performance. On the other hand, the system typically has to synthesise the assumption of load circumstances in order to make the improvement. This study introduces a novel approach that makes use of a real-time control mechanism. With the help of the EMTDC model, the controller is utilized, and its capacity to monitor setpoints associated with active power, reactive power, and other variables that are appropriate is evaluated. Considering the effectiveness of the suggested superior outcomes are achieved by the controller proposed in the work, which had a greater margin of stability and a shorter time having optimized response for the system. © 2024 IEEE.

As communication networks and the internet of Things (IoT) converge in water critical infrastructure, it facilitates smart online monitoring of water supply systems, but it also significantly increases the incidence of cyber attacks. Additionally, it becomes especially challenging to detect attacks timely as they become more sophisticated and multifaceted. To address this issue, we propose a stacking ensemble network detection model based on industrial processes in water treatment systems, where the attacks are identified through recognizing anomalies caused by the underlying dynamics of the industrial control system. In the proposed detection model, we utilize a multilayer perceptron (MLP) to facilitate multi-module training, taking into consideration the multi-stage process of the water conservancy ***, we adopt Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural network (LSTM) to effectively integrate the predicted results. To optimize the performance of this model, we leverage a Population Based Training (PBT) of Neural networks to finetune the parameters. For each sensor parameter, the residuals between the predicted and measured data are classified using a sliding window-based dynamic threshold to identify anomalies. Based on the Real Safe Water Treatment (SWaT) system dataset,we evaluate the accuracy of our proposed scheme with three other schemes. The experimental comparison results show that the accuracy of our scheme is better than those of all the other three schemes.

The constant endeavor to advance mobile technology and broaden educational access has highlighted the digital poverty and digital divide across regions of the Philippines. This study focuses on the redevelopment of the Ateneo Innovation Center Education Cloud, introducing a telecommunications component for internet connectivity and a remote administrator interface. These enable non-service affecting content updates and software maintenance, minimizing resource-intensive physical interventions. The research evaluates the performance of 5G and LTE networks, server data transfer, throughput, and satellite infrastructure, to assess the platform's adaptability relative to terrestrial and non-terrestrial network conditions. Predeployment environment tests revealed a range of connectivity levels, from robust indoor coverage with -66 dBm 5G and -76.7 dBm LTE signal power to outdoor coverage-only areas with at least -120 dBm signal strength. Server data transfer reached a peak data capacity of 3.92 GB, with a mean throughput of 556 Mbps. Satellite network speeds ranged from 94 Mbps to 166 Mbps. The system's usability within diverse environment and varying network performance, remote-control capabilities, and compatibility with Starlink internet, prove the platform's viability and scalability as a multi-functional information distribution system for community knowledge transfer and disaster resilience, effectively reaching underserved regions in the Philippines.

The Tactile internet needs to support multiple modalities, including haptic data simultaneously, to enable human and robot interaction in perceived real-time. Compared to video and audio, haptic data streams require an even lower delay and more shallow packet loss, which is a challenge for the underlying networks originally designed to support high bandwidths by having a large queue to buffer packets. This raises the need to study queuing management for different data streams. We examine the performance of CoDel++, which combines the well-known controlled Delay (CoDel) protocol and Priority Queues. We leverage programmable data planes, which can be programmed with P4. Evaluation results show that CoDel++ produces superior results for high-priority data streams, i.e., reducing latency by at least 60% and packet loss by half compared to individual exploitation of Priority Queuing or CoDel individually.
