Induction motors, especially three-phase induction motors, are widely used in the industry due to their outstanding features compared to others. Remote drive inverters are one of the new areas for increasing the efficiency and reliability of motors. With the fast advancement of technology and the expansion of the internet network, the internet of Things has become one of the main ways to communicate with different devices. The number of devices connected to the internet has increased, especially in industrial environments that lead to better product control and monitoring. Sending system monitoring information with IoT allows processing, storage and monitoring. The use of IoT in the control and monitoring of electric motors leads to the formation of smart drives. The benefits of using IoT include reducing maintenance costs, increasing reliability, optimizing motor performance, and improving failure prediction accuracy. In this project Raspberry Pi board is used as processor and two current and voltage sensors for monitoring electrical features and controlling motor speed Also temperature sensor for detecting failures. The data is collected by the Raspberry Pi and sent to the server and then stored in the database and after processing, the necessary instructions are sent back to the Raspberry Pi.

networked controlled systems (NCS) are control systems that rely on the performance of the communications to ensure a desired Quality-of-control (QoC). However, the wireless link is imperfect;the packet has an intrinsic latency, and packets can be lost due to its stochastic nature. Although the newest generation of wireless networks (5G and beyond) can provide Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) to attempt to remove the problems caused by the wireless network. This methodology is expensive in terms of communications resources, and for NCS, the constant stream of data could be spared since some updates might contain similar information. Although there are multiple methodologies to design a NCS, not many methods attempt to develop the communications system based on reducing the consumption of communications resources. Therefore, this work finds the maximum transmission interval and delay to optimize the maximum peak Age-of-Information (AoI) while getting a model of the Maximum Allowable Packet Loss Probability (MAPLP) for the case that the H 1 norm of the control system must be maintained lower than a specified threshold. Finally, the model is validated in the case of platooning using Cooperative Adaptive Cruise control (CACC), showing a high accuracy compared to the results of the solution of the optimization problem.

Modern technology plays a crucial role in healthcare not only for reducing sensitive bias but also for improving transmission, documentation., and display device performance. It's veritably essential to monitor vital signs and post-operative progress. Therefore, the latest advancement in healthcare communication is utilizing the IoT (internet of Things) technology. The internet of Things accelerates healthcare and plays a significant role in various healthcare procedures. The current method only detects oxygen saturation, blood pressure, pulse rate and body temperature which doesn't count the rate of breathing. In the proposed system, there is an advantage of counting the rate of breathing which uses ESP32-S as a microcontroller that acts as the bridge to connect and transfer data with multiple sensors like the spO2 sensor, Respiratory sensor, and heartbeat sensor. The control unit collects the data and transmits it to the network via IoT, hence furnishing Live monitoring of the patient's healthcare Additionally, the system consists of an LCD display that continuously displays the patient's health status. The data can be viewed anytime and anywhere by the caretaker. © 2023 IEEE.

Low-Latency network-Adaptive Error control for Interactive Streaming

We introduce a novel network-adaptive algorithm that is suitable for alleviating network packet losses for low-latency interactive communications between a source and a destination. Our network-adaptive algorithm estimates in real-time the best parameters of a recently proposed streaming code that uses forward error correction (FEC) to correct both arbitrary and burst losses, which cause a crackling noise and undesirable jitters, respectively in audio. In particular, the destination estimates appropriate coding parameters based on its observed packet loss pattern and sends them back to the source for updating the underlying code. Besides, a new explicit construction of practical low-latency streaming codes that achieve the optimal tradeoff between the capability of correcting arbitrary losses and the capability of correcting burst losses is used. Simulation evaluations based on statistical losses and real-world packet loss traces reveal the following: (i) Our proposed network-adaptive algorithm combined with our optimal streaming codes can achieve significantly higher performance compared to uncoded and non-adaptive FEC schemes over UDP (User Datagram Protocol);(ii) Our explicit streaming codes can significantly outperform traditional MDS (maximum-distance separable) streaming schemes when they are used along with our network-adaptive algorithm. In addition, we study different factors that can affect the performance of our network-adaptive algorithm.

Early adoption of internet of Medical Things (IoMT) are enhancing the healthcare sector in all directions. Though the advances are adding advantages to the existing systems, the security and privacy of medical data remain a challenge. The increase in IoMT and mobile healthcare devices presence on untrusted networks can make the situation more complicated for healthcare system users. Moreover, they are pushing critical data to centralized locations like cloud, where the patient lacking control on his data. In this regard, a secure IoT framework is desirable which is capable of preserving the integrity and confidentiality of the medical data. Due to this, we proposed a novel architecture which leverages blockchain, IPFS, zero-knowledge protocols, and functional encryption technologies to provide decentralised healthcare system privacy and security. The proposed system helps the healthcare system administrators maintain data confidentiality, availability, integrity, and transparency over an untrusted peer-to-peer network without any human interference. Moreover, the system eliminates the requirement for a centralised server for functional encryption operations using hybrid computing paradigms. Finally, the proposed system suggests a novel mechanism to minimise the latency in data sharing over the network without compromising data security and privacy. To describe the working principle of this architecture a logical analysis is carried out which shows that the system is capable of providing the desired security and privacy.

In response to the pressing global challenge of climate change, the emphasis on sustainable energy technologies has escalated, spotlighting the critical role of heat pump systems as eco-friendly alternatives for heating and cooling. These systems stand at the forefront of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency. The advent of internet of Things (IoT) technology has unlocked the potential for comprehensive data collection on the operational intricacies of heat pump systems in real-world settings, offering precious insights into their performance and guiding technological advancements. This paper introduces an analytical approach to optimize air-to-water heat pump systems using time series data from Bosch Home Comfort Group's systems. Utilizing Fayyad's data-driven analysis model and the Random Forest algorithm, the study tackles system behavior complexities. Characterized by interpretability crucial for application, it achieves a 97.6% fault detection accuracy. The method encounters difficulties in accurately predicting compressor control faults due to limited data quality and a lack of comprehensive system information. The findings highlight IoT's potential to enhance system efficiency and availability, but also point to the limitations of relying solely on data-driven models for fault prediction in field systems. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – Science and Technology Publications, Lda.

Cloud data centers are a critical infrastructure for modern internet services such as web search, social networking and e-commerce. However, the gradual slow-down of Moore's law has put a burden on the growth of data centers' performance and energy efficiency. In addition, the increasing of millisecond-scale and microsecond-scale tasks also bring higher requirements to the throughput and latency for the cloud applications. Today's server-based solutions are hard to meet the performance requirements in many scenarios like resource management, scheduling, high-speed traffic monitoring and testing. In this dissertation, we study these problems from a network perspective. We investigate a new architecture that leverages the programmability of new-generation network switches to improve the performance and reliability of clouds. As programmable switches only provide very limited memory and functionalities, we exploit compact data structures and deeply co-design software and hardware to best utilize the resource. More specifically, this dissertation presents four systems:(i) NetLock: A new centralized lock management architecture that co-designs programmable switches and servers to simultaneously achieve high performance and rich policy support. It provides orders-of-magnitude higher throughput than existing systems with microsecond-level latency, and supports many commonly-used policies such as performance isolation.(ii) HCSFQ: A scalable and practical solution to implement hierarchical fair queueing on commodity hardware at line rate. Instead of relying on a hierarchy of queues with complex queue management, HCSFQ does not keep per-flow states and uses only one queue to achieve hierarchical fair queueing.(iii) AIFO: A new approach for programmable packet scheduling that only uses a single FIFO queue. internet of Drones (IoDs) is a network meant to connect drones and their users through the internet. It is now possible for industries to perform a variety of missions in a controlled airspace utilising several drones that are easily accessible as commodity products. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) components, such as Central Processing Units (CPUs), sensors, storage, and battery life, may be mass-produced thanks to technological advancements, but the performance constraints of these components obstruct and restrict expectations. In order to provide remote control and accessibility of UAV and efficiently scalable unloading and probabilities of remote storage of data in the cloud system, IoDs deliver drones coupling vehicle and cloud mobility features. In this article, comprehensive overview of the internet of Things (IoTs), requirements of IoDs and its architecture is reviewed. Recently, with the advances in technologies and the integration of internet of Things (IoT), many fields face difficulties and challenges in implementing IoT based systems and applications. One of the most important domain where IoT has been widely used and proved its performance is healthcare. In the medical field, connected objects are called internet of Medical Things (IoMT). Besides, in this field, a large amount of critical and sensitive data is generated and the network may undergo the problem of congestion or traffic overload. Due to the nature of the generated data, it is important to ensure getting data in real time and without delay. In this paper, we direct our attention to deal with the Quality of Services in IoMT. We propose an approach able to classify connected devices into smart devices and IoMT devices, and then classify IoMT gathered data according to data emergency by prioritizing urgent data. We found our solution based on the reserved field in the Transmission control Protocol (TCP) header to manage priorities for data transmission within a medical system. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The world of today is highly interconnected and undergoes rapid changes. Algorithms are essential for data networks and communication systems. This study looks at how the complexity of algorithms affects network design. It focusses on the GROA (Global Routing Optimisation Algorithm), LBEA (Load Balancing and Efficient Allocation), and QKD-NS systems in particular. We aim to educate individuals on the impact of various methods on security, route completion time, and resource constraints. Based on the results, GROA creates variable paths, QKD-NS boosts safety with quantum-based innovations, and LBEA efficiently divides up resources based on what the network requires. According to the study, putting these many technologies together could lead to strong partnerships that can handle security breaches, traffic jams, and changes in the network. This study focusses on how advances in technology have led to better computer design, which in turn has made the internet safer and easier to use. The paper elucidates the application of these novel mathematical discoveries to enhance the performance and durability of data networks. These new details help communication networks improve by ensuring that they are safe and can meet today's link standards. © 2024 IEEE.
