The ongoing transition to Industry 4.0, which is characterized by increased inter-connectivity of cyber-physical systems, requires having time-sensitive, high throughput, and secure transfer of critical data in industrial sites. In this context, network slicing emerges as a critical tool to ensure timely data delivery by provisioning the network resources to cater to specific applications' requirements and mitigating potential cyber attacks. To address these challenges, this paper aims to tackle two key questions essential for the successful implementation of network slicing in industrial environments. First, it investigates architectural considerations for developing a network infrastructure capable of supporting network slicing functionalities effectively. The proposed approach significantly improves deployment efficiency over traditional manual configurations. Second, it delves into the automated orchestration process, elucidating the steps and components involved in transitioning from a static network management approach to dynamically leverage network function virtualization schemes for creating network slices in ad-hoc manner. The system demonstrates high throughput suitable for production-level solutions and maintains exceptionally low latency, making it ideal for ultra-reliable low-latency communications. Even with increased network demands, the system remains stable, with effective quality of Service (QoS) management, ensuring reliable performance under varying conditions. The proposed architecture outlines the necessary components, services, and communication protocols required for a production-level orchestrator for network segmentation in SCADA environments.

This article presents the design of a metamaterials-based hybrid wideband bandpass filter ( WB-BPF ) supporting several advanced communication applications. The suggested filter uses multiple-mode resonators ( MMRs ) and metamaterial complementary split-ring resonators ( CSRRs ) . Coupling frequencies are optimized by stretching the coupled lines parallel on both sides. At the same time, the metamaterial complementary split-ring resonator ( CSSR ) cells are carefully tuned to improve impedance matching, reduce insertion loss, and broaden the bandwidth. The designed compact-sized bandpass filter offers a quality factor ( Q L ) of above 1 while maintaining a wide bandwidth of 6150 MHz. The realized structure requires a small physical area of 20.2 x 10 mm(2). A parametric study, field distribution analysis, and equivalent circuit model of the proposed hybrid BPF are performed. The resulting filter has an exceptional response with five transmission poles, demonstrating superior performance in the targeted frequency range. This wideband bandpass filter, operating from 3.3 GHz to 9.45 GHz, finds potential applications in the emerging fields of the internet of Things ( IoT ) , wireless fidelity 6 enhanced ( Wi-Fi 6E), and high-speed wireless communications, particularly 5G technology, and 5 GHz wireless local area network ( WLAN ) . This research demonstrates significant advances in the development of bandpass fi lters, offering compact, high-performance solutions for modern communications systems.

This paper provides an improved version of the routing protocol for low power and lossy networks (RPL), calledmultimedia RPL (MmRPL). This protocol is proposed as a solution for some restrictions in the RPL storing mode. RPL consumes much energy when the network size increases which may degrade its performance and cause a degradation of the network performance, resulting in an inconsistency in the use of the RPL protocol in constrained internet of multimedia things (IoMT) networks. IoMT applications can be very demanding in terms of quality of service (QoS) requirements such as minimum delay, reduced rate of control overhead and low-energy consumption. The proposed extension overcomes the memory overload challenge and improves the QoS requirements in IoMT networks. The obtained simulation results proved that the proposed algorithm outperforms the standard RPL and another extension of RPL, in terms of control-plane overhead, end-to-end delay and energy consumption.

This paper presents a novel line-of-control (LoC) monitoring system that leverages the internet of Things (IoT) to improve border security. The system creates a strong infrastructure for real-time monitoring throughout critical border regions, especially the Line of control, by utilizing IoT devices, sensors, and communication technologies. The coverage, timeliness, and data quality of conventional border surveillance systems are frequently compromised. As opposed to this, the suggested system makes use of a wirelessly networked network of intelligent sensors, such as infrared, acoustic, and video cameras. By utilizing sophisticated image processing algorithms and machine learning to analyze the gathered data, the system is able to differentiate between regular activities and any security risks. To help security staff make decisions quickly, real-time updates are transmitted to a centralized control center. Integration with cloud computing also makes data analysis, retrieval, and storage simpler and guarantees data accessibility for forensic investigations and trend research. © 2025 IEEE.

network policy plays a crucial role in cloud-native networking, especially in multi-tenant scenarios. It provides precise control over connectivity by specifying source and destination endpoints, traffic types, and other criteria to allow or deny traffic. However, manual configuration of these policies introduces the risk of errors, leading to isolation violations or network service unavailability. Therefore, network policy verification is essential for maintaining security and quality of service in cloud-native networking. Currently, a naive approach involves individually checking each policy within the cluster, which can take over 100s for verification in a cluster size of over 100k. Existing verification frameworks, like Kano and Verikube, improve performance by leveraging pre-filtering and Satisfiability Modulo Theories (SMT) solvers, achieving a 3.12x to 12.99x performance boost over the naive baseline. However, as network policy changes rapidly within 100ms in real cloud-native networks, both frameworks need over 10s to perform verification for cluster sizes over 100k, which is far from satisfying. To overcome these issues, we propose and implement a novel network policy verification framework NPV, which utilizes the policy-label pre-filter process with bitwise compression. We further enhance the policy verification algorithm with a policy-namespace divide-and-conquer strategy to improve the data-level parallelism. We implement NPV on commodity servers and evaluate its performance using real network policy datasets. Our experiments indicate that, compared with the state-of-the-art methods, NPV can achieve up to 139.00x to 651.06x improvement in verification time compared to Kano and Verikube, with 65% less memory usage.

The internet of Things (IoT) was evaluated as part of this study. The IoT system in this study is the air quality monitoring system. The system consists of three layers, three end devices with air quality monitoring sensors as the perception layer, the LoRaWAN network as the network layer, and the monitoring website as the presentation layer. Before being made available to the public, IoT hardware and software must undergo testing. For IoT systems, there are no established standards or quality criteria. This study's goal is to evaluate the methodology for an air quality monitoring system. Website speed is measured using Pingdom tools. The website received a performance grade of B. Pingdom offers advice for enhancing website performance. Sucuri is utilized as a security test tool to evaluate the website's security, and consequently, no malware was discovered. The latency and data dependability are monitored to assess the system's performance fully. The outcome demonstrates that all system components consistently and accurately receive data with a latency of less than 1 s. © 2023 IEEE.

Good power quality and high-power efficiency are important aspects of power system management. Harmonic, as an unwanted frequency component in electrical signals, can interfere with power quality and reduce electrical efficiency. A passive harmonic filter is a device used to reduce or filter harmonics in electrical power systems. This research proposes technology internet of Things with an automatic control system that moves the step filter to solve the harmonic problem, with the aim of improving the quality of power and electrical efficiency. The step filter functions to identify and isolate the harmonic, thus enabling appropriate controls to suppress the impact of the harmonic. The proposed system uses sophisticated control algorithms using sensors that can read current, voltage, frequency, and power factor to adjust the step filter parameters dynamically, following changes in load conditions and harmonizing. Simulation of the control network using the proteus software is subsequently undertaken in further research to design the control device. Using an automatic control set in the control simulation results reduced the need for manual intervention and let the system adjust the step filter automatically in response to changing network conditions. This showed that this method worked to lower harmonic distortion, increases the power factor through the filter used, and make the system more energy efficient overall. The study emphasizes the importance of applying sophisticated control strategies to manage harmonics efficiently, which ultimately paves the way to a cleaner and more reliable power grid. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The internet of Things (IoT) is considered one of the huge parts in the wireless world and IoT devices provide individuals with a lot of ease in their daily life activities. As technology today is growing at an unexpected pace, individuals tend to focus on the benefits that IoT brings to their life and ignore that IoT security can harm their personal information too. Sinkhole attack is one of the issues or attacks that may affect the usage of IoT devices. The attack can potentially threaten the device or gadget usability, the safety of the IoT network, data loss and system integrity compromise. Hence, this project aims to address the security challenges by simulating sinkhole attacks on IoT devices to identify the vulnerabilities, determine the impact on confidentiality, integrity, availability. The Contiki framework is utilized with the open source Cooja to simulate and demonstrate the sinkhole attack on IoT devices. The Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) is used to evaluate the impact of the sinkhole attacks on the network performance and how it degrades efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

This study explores an advanced Sliding Mode Order-One controller with Artificial Neural network (ANN) for wind turbine chain equipped with a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). The control algorithm incorporates an optimization process, such as PSO, to determine optimal gain parameters. The DFIG is connected directly to the grid in the stator and is fed in the rotor by the Converter Side Rotor (CSR). The initial section of the paper presents the model of the wind turbine system, covering both the mechanical and electrical aspects. The subsequent section introduces a robust control strategy to regulate the active and reactive powers (stator powers) of the DFIG. The proposed control method combines Sliding Mode Order-One (SMOO) with Artificial Neural network control, aiming to reduce the chattering effect and enhance quality of grid compared to conventional SMOO. This approach, referred to as ANN-SMOO, exhibits improved performance and robustness in DFIG control by mitigating chattering effects and improving energy quality. Therefore, the internet of Vehicular Things (IoT) is a subsystem of the internet of Things (IoT). This link enables complexity and the formation of application solutions like traffic control and predictive maintenance, among others. However, with the enhancement of interconnectivity, potential security threats are also a significant issue. This research paper aims to establish technology's ability to enhance data security in the internet of Vehicles and Things (IoTIoT). We propose a detailed framework consisting of a consortium blockchain technique, intelligent contracts, and a proof-of-authority consensus model. This framework should solve significant security issues, including data integrity, authentication, and access control. The Delaware setting of the experiment involved using a realistic simulation environment with real-world vehicle data. Thus, the proposed architecture showed its capability of protecting data from being modified, resulting in a data integrity of 95%, whereas the general systems had a 70 % *** overall identity authentication accuracy has improved to as high as 98% from 85%, proving the effectiveness of digital signatures and public-key cryptography. Also, the framework provided a transaction throughput of 120 TPS and an average latency rate of 2. 5 seconds. For this purpose, the conventional centralized systems that the paper compared addressed 150 TPS and a 1.8-second latency. That is why security has been much improved, but there are still scalability and latency problems. Improved efficiency of the blockchain network is called for to meet the real-time performance demands of IoT applications. © 2024 IEEE.
