An internet of Vehicles (IoV) network is an evolution of internet of Things (IoT) and VANET. In IoV, the Medium Access control (MAC) protocol based on the standard 802.11p remains a big challenge for broadcasting safety messages. As the number of users increases, attention is given to quality of Experience (QoE) and channel allocation. This paper proposes an efficient QoEC-based MAC scheme for IoV. The goal of this paper is to increase the network's effectiveness and the quality of service it offers. In our scheme, vehicles are organized into clusters. The cluster head is responsible for attributing slots, forwarding messages sent by their cluster members, and scheduling inter-cluster and intra-cluster communications. The efficiency of the QoEC-MAC scheme is evaluated with several simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed QoEC-MAC protocol achieves a lower collision ratio, higher throughput, and shorter delay. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to improve the processing quality of traditional Chinese medicine rhubarb and control the processing process of rhubarb in real time, a programmable logic control system with Ethernet and internet of things remote communication function was designed, and the corresponding programming software and configuration software were developed, which had important engineering application value for the transformation and upgrading of traditional processing equipment of rhubarb. In this paper, based on 5G Narrowband internet of Things (NBiot) technology and industrial Ethernet technology, a programmable logic control system with remote wireless communication function is designed, and the supporting programming software platform is developed to connect to the cloud wireless network. The research results were tested in Li County Rhuai Technology Co., LTD. The rhuai production yield was increased by 30%, the processing quality was effectively improved, and the effectiveness of the rhuai processing process control was guaranteed. In addition, the results can provide reference for the research and development of intelligent control systems in traditional Chinese medicine preparation industry, and realize the large-scale and industrialized development of traditional Chinese medicine processing equipment. © 2024 SPIE.

This paper presents a coverage control algorithm specialized to image sampling for 3D model reconstruction of environment using a drone network. It is widely known that the sampling the environment from rich viewing angles enhances the 3D model quality. To this end, the authors presented so-called angle-aware coverage control based on the concept of constraint-based control, which enables drones to determine its translational motion and camera rotation so that a performance constraint is enforced. In this paper, we combine this control methodology with the battery charging constraint in order to ensure mission persistency. Now, dynamically assigning charging stations to drones is expected to enhance the coverage performance. We thus design a distributed assignment algorithm of the stations based on so-called alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). The algorithm is then integrated with the above constraint-based controller, and the integrated system is demonstrated through simulation in Robot Operating System 2.

controlling and co-ordination of energy management in different power generation or resources is always complex task in hybrid microgrid. To integrate renewable energy sources like solar-wind and battery multiple power converters usage required. The overall performance of the hybrid microgrid power system network is dependent on the operating of the power converters. Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) can optimize power flow within a microgrid or power system by providing advanced control capabilities. VSCs offer a range of control capabilities that can be leveraged to optimize power flow within microgrids and power systems. Their ability to regulate voltage, control reactive power, and respond dynamically to changes in the system makes them valuable components for improving efficiency and reliability in various operational scenarios. In this paper an Artificial Neural network (ANN) controller is developed to operate the single phase VSC converter at load side. To reach the load demand and enhance the power quality battery supported is considered to the solar and wind power generation. The performance of the proposed ANN based hybrid microgrid is investigated on two scenarios such as steady load connected to the variable solarwind power generation and performance of the system when dynamic load is connected at constant PV and wind power generations. Form the obtained simulation results on these both these cases;the proposed ANN control strategy better energy management between solar-wind and battery energy sources. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we tackle the challenge of generating synthetic log files using generative adversarial networks to support smart-troubleshooting experimentation. Log files are critical for implementing monitoring systems for smart-troubleshooting, as they capture valuable information about the activities and events occurring within the monitored system. Analyzing these logs is crucial for effective smart-troubleshooting, enhancing the overall efficiency, reliability, and security of smart manufacturing processes. However, accessing public log data is difficult due to privacy concerns and the need to protect sensitive information. Moreover, for the purpose of effective troubleshooting, it is essential to have datasets that include fault, error, and failure logs as well as standard logs. In recent years, synthetic log files have emerged as a promising solution to augment limited real-world datasets and facilitate the development and evaluation of anomaly detection techniques. Building on this concept of synthetic data, we have developed a specific log generation technique and dataset tailored for testing smart-troubleshooting techniques in heterogeneous connected systems environments, such as industrial cyber-physical systems and the internet of things. First, we propose a methodology that generates synthetic log files based on generative adversarial networks. Later, we instantiate this methodology using different Generative Adversarial network implementations and present a validation and a comprehensive comparative analysis of their performance. Eventually, we provide a robust dataset for anomaly detection and threat analysis in cyberspace security. Based on the results of our comparison, CTGAN has shown superior performance in generating high-quality synthetic log files.

The internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected appliances, sensors, and databases that aim to improve human life quality in various life fields. To enhance agricultural productivity quantitively and in terms of quality, farmers have adopted the emerging IoT and communication technologies to establish automated monitoring and control systems. This adoption of novel technologies enables farmers to deal with traditional practice problems. However, the solutions provided by this new concept reveal a wide range of research issues. Since security and privacy are the top concerns in IoT environments, it's important to think about potential attacks and develop countermeasures. In this paper, we present a simple security analysis in the IoT-based smart agriculture field. Then, considering the crucial role of authentication in IoT security, we reviewed the different classes of authentication in this field. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of low-cost consumer electronics and cloud computing, internet-of-Things (IoT) devices are widely adopted for supporting next-generation distributed systems such as smart cities and industrial control systems. IoT devices are often susceptible to cyber attacks due to their open deployment environment and limited computing capabilities for stringent security controls. Hence, Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) have emerged as one of the effective ways of securing IoT networks by monitoring and detecting abnormal activities. However, existing IDS approaches rely on centralized servers to generate behaviour profiles and detect anomalies, causing high response time and large operational costs due to communication overhead. Besides, sharing of behaviour data in an open and distributed IoT network environment may violate on-device privacy requirements. Additionally, various IoT devices tend to capture heterogeneous data, which complicates the training of behaviour models. In this paper, we introduce Federated Learning (FL) to collaboratively train a decentralized shared model of IDS, without exposing training data to others. Furthermore, we propose an effective method called Federated Learning Ensemble Knowledge Distillation (FLEKD) to mitigate the heterogeneity problems across various clients. FLEKD enables a more flexible aggregation method than conventional model fusion techniques. Experiment results on the public dataset CICIDS2019 demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms local training and traditional FL in terms of both speed and performance and significantly improves the system's ability to detect unknown attacks. Finally, we evaluate our proposed framework's performance in three potential real-world scenarios and show FLEKD has a clear advantage in experimental results.

Renewable energy systems are becoming increasingly popular for electricity generation because they are clean and can meet local electricity needs. They reduce network congestion and also lighten the load on conventional based power plants. Power quality issues have become increasingly important in grid-connected renewable energy systems like solar PV and wind energy-based systems over the past few decades, particularly due to their sporadic nature and the widespread usage of nonlinear electronics loads. With the advent of power electronic converters with powerful control technology, renewable energy systems can be interconnected to a large extent with the power grid or used as isolation systems in remote areas. Using more efficient control strategies can not only improve the performance of these systems, but also improve the quality of energy generated, distributed, and used at the load side of power system. Post-production quality control of steel products plays a crucial role in reducing waste and increasing customer satisfaction. In this study, an Autoencoder-based approach with an Encoder network is examined to enhance the automated quality control of steel. The Encoder network compresses input data into a lower-dimensional latent space, extracting the essential features from steel surface images and allowing for efficient anomaly detection by filtering out irrelevant data. This encoded data is then used to reconstruct the original input through the Decoder network, with reconstruction errors signaling the presence of defects. This algorithm, by learning patterns from natural data, has the ability to identify anomalies and surface defects in steel products. The performance of the model was evaluated using the NEU Surface Defects Database, which contains high-resolution images of surface defects in steel. This dataset is recognized as one of the reliable sources for research in quality control and defect detection in steel products, covering a variety of defects that allow researchers to evaluate the performance of different algorithms. The results showed that the proposed model can detect anomalies with 96% accuracy. Additionally, the analysis of reconstruction error for normal and anomalous data demonstrated that this approach offers higher precision in defect detection and lower production costs compared to traditional methods. One of the key achievements of this study is the high speed of defect detection and the model's ability to accurately predict potential issues in the early stages of production, which reduces inspection time and increases production line efficiency. The implementation of this model in production lines can lead to improvements in quality control processes and reduce waste. With the vigorous growth of the new generation of information technology, a new round of industrial revolution is sweeping across the world. Governments of various countries are actively introducing policies to promote the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises. As an inevitable trend in the growth of China's manufacturing industry, the core of intelligent manufacturing lies in the research and application of adaptive intelligent manufacturing systems. As a key technology for upgrading the manufacturing industry and promoting the integration of informatization and industrialization, the improvement of performance and adaptive capabilities of adaptive intelligent manufacturing systems is crucial. Deep reinforcement learning (DRL), with its powerful decision-making ability and adaptability to complex environments, has shown broad application prospects in the field of intelligent manufacturing. This article proposes an adaptive optimization control strategy for intelligent manufacturing systems based on DRL. This strategy achieves adaptive optimization of manufacturing system control strategies through the powerful representation learning ability of deep neural networks (DNN) and the adaptive decision-making ability of reinforcement learning (RL). The experimental results show that this strategy can significantly improve the adaptive ability and optimization performance of manufacturing systems, enabling them to maintain stable and efficient operation in complex production environments, thereby improving production efficiency, reducing operating costs, and enhancing product quality. © 2024 IEEE.
