As communication networks and the internet of Things (IoT) converge in water critical infrastructure, it facilitates smart online monitoring of water supply systems, but it also significantly increases the incidence of cyber attacks. Additionally, it becomes especially challenging to detect attacks timely as they become more sophisticated and multifaceted. To address this issue, we propose a stacking ensemble network detection model based on industrial processes in water treatment systems, where the attacks are identified through recognizing anomalies caused by the underlying dynamics of the industrial control system. In the proposed detection model, we utilize a multilayer perceptron (MLP) to facilitate multi-module training, taking into consideration the multi-stage process of the water conservancy ***, we adopt Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural network (LSTM) to effectively integrate the predicted results. To optimize the performance of this model, we leverage a Population Based Training (PBT) of Neural networks to finetune the parameters. For each sensor parameter, the residuals between the predicted and measured data are classified using a sliding window-based dynamic threshold to identify anomalies. Based on the Real Safe Water Treatment (SWaT) system dataset,we evaluate the accuracy of our proposed scheme with three other schemes. The experimental comparison results show that the accuracy of our scheme is better than those of all the other three schemes.

In the modern communication systems there is a need to process an increasing amount of data that must be analyzed in the systems for monitoring, control and protection against threats to IP traffic. For this reason, developers are increasingly relying on the integration of functionality and the application of intelligence in network monitoring and security devices. In this research a method was proposed, for automated classification of time variability for connection to the local internet router and to the server for the first transition to the internet. By grouping these parameters according to the connection time, three different classes related to the connection quality are created. These data are set as training vectors at the input of a multilayer neural network. Different neural network structures were trained with different strategies aiming to obtain best classification fitting by minimum neural network elements. The obtained experimental results are presented and discussed.

The constant endeavor to advance mobile technology and broaden educational access has highlighted the digital poverty and digital divide across regions of the Philippines. This study focuses on the redevelopment of the Ateneo Innovation Center Education Cloud, introducing a telecommunications component for internet connectivity and a remote administrator interface. These enable non-service affecting content updates and software maintenance, minimizing resource-intensive physical interventions. The research evaluates the performance of 5G and LTE networks, server data transfer, throughput, and satellite infrastructure, to assess the platform's adaptability relative to terrestrial and non-terrestrial network conditions. Predeployment environment tests revealed a range of connectivity levels, from robust indoor coverage with -66 dBm 5G and -76.7 dBm LTE signal power to outdoor coverage-only areas with at least -120 dBm signal strength. Server data transfer reached a peak data capacity of 3.92 GB, with a mean throughput of 556 Mbps. Satellite network speeds ranged from 94 Mbps to 166 Mbps. The system's usability within diverse environment and varying networkperformance, remote-control capabilities, and compatibility with Starlink internet, prove the platform's viability and scalability as a multi-functional information distribution system for community knowledge transfer and disaster resilience, effectively reaching underserved regions in the Philippines.

The Tactile internet needs to support multiple modalities, including haptic data simultaneously, to enable human and robot interaction in perceived real-time. Compared to video and audio, haptic data streams require an even lower delay and more shallow packet loss, which is a challenge for the underlying networks originally designed to support high bandwidths by having a large queue to buffer packets. This raises the need to study queuing management for different data streams. We examine the performance of CoDel++, which combines the well-known controlled Delay (CoDel) protocol and Priority Queues. We leverage programmable data planes, which can be programmed with P4. Evaluation results show that CoDel++ produces superior results for high-priority data streams, i.e., reducing latency by at least 60% and packet loss by half compared to individual exploitation of Priority Queuing or CoDel individually.
