We introduce DeepCrypt, a deep-learning based approach to analyze YouTube adaptive video streaming quality of Experience (QoE) from the internet Service Provider (ISP) perspective, relying exclusively on the analysis of encrypted network traffic. Using raw features derived on-line from the encrypted stream of bytes, DeepCrypt infers six different video QoE indicators capturing the user-perceived performance of the service, including the initial playback delay, the number and frequency of rebuffering events, the video playback quality and encoding bitrate, and the number of quality changes. DeepCrypt offers deep visibility into the behavior of the end-user, enabling the fingerprinting and detection of different user actions on the video player, such as video pauses and playback scrubbing (forward, backward, out-of-buffer), offering a complete visibility on the video streaming process from in-network traffic measurements. Evaluations over a large and heterogeneous dataset composed of mobile and fixed-line measurements, using the YouTube HTML5 player, the native YouTube mobile app, as well as a generic HTML5 video player built on top of open source libraries, and considering measurements collected at different ISPs, confirm the out-performance of DeepCrypt over previously used shallow-learning models, and its generalization to different video players and network setups.

The internet of Things can be defined as the network of physical objects that have sensors, software, and other technologies built into them in order to communicate and exchange data with other systems and devices over the internet. In intelligent agricultural advancements to increase the quality of agriculture, the internet of Things (IoT) can be used. The manual monitoring of plant diseases is quite challenging. It demands enormous effort, expertise in the diseases of plants and the considerable time required for processing. The idea of automation in Smart Agriculture is implemented using the internet of Things (IoT). They help monitor the plant leaf conditions, control water irrigation, gather images using installed IoT system which includes NodeMCU, cameras, soil moisture, temperature sensors and detect diseases in plants on the datasets collected from leaves. To detect plant diseases, image processing is applied. The detection of diseases comprises the acquisition of images, image pre-processing, segmenting an image, extracting and classifying features. In addition, the performance of two machine-learning techniques, such as a linear and polynomial kernel multi hidden extreme machine (MELM) and a support vector machine (SVM), has been studied. This paper discussed how plant diseases could be detected via images of their leaves. This analysis seeks to validate a proposed system for an appropriate solution to the IoT-based environmental surveillance, water irrigation system management and an efficient approach for leaf disease detection on plants. The proposed multi hidden layers extreme machine classification delivers good performance of 99.12% in the classification of leaf diseases in comparison to the Support Vector Machine classification, which gives 98%.

This paper investigates a semi-grant-free (SGF) access scheme for satellite communication systems, where one earth station (ES) and many mobile terminals (MTs) desire to access the satellite network simultaneously via uplink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). We first propose two NOMA assisted SGF transmission schemes according to the availability of different channel state information (CSI). When perfect CSI is available, the satellite broadcasts an instantaneous access threshold to all MTs to enable dynamic power control (DPC), thus guaranteeing the quality of service of the ES. Otherwise, with the introduction of a statistical access threshold, a novel DPC with probability constraint is proposed to fulfill a satisfactory transmission. Next, we propose a new probability density function to characterize the shadowed-Rician distribution with estimation error, with which closed-form system throughput expressions under the proposed schemes are derived. Finally, computer simulations validate the effectiveness and superiority of our analysis and reveal the impact of CSI errors on the system performance.

The power router (PR) for the low-voltage distribution network is the core equipment of energy internet (EI). As the connector between the power grid and DC bus of PR, the performance of the rectifier on the grid side and DC side will directly affect the PR. The traditional linear control strategy will deteriorate system performance in terms of the rectifier. Therefore, taking the three-level T-type rectifier (3LT(2)R) as the object, this paper proposes a double loop nonlinear control strategy. The inner current loop is a simplified deadbeat predictive control strategy based on improved space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM). The inner loop is designed to improve the dynamic performance of the grid side of the system and reduce the computational burden of the controller by changing the coordinate system of vector synthesis. And the outer voltage loop is a variable exponent sliding mode controller (SMC) based on an integral sliding mode surface. It is designed to ensure the robustness of the DC side of the 3LT(2)R and to weaken the chattering of SMC. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Although demand has been increasing for accurate remote motion control of IoT devices, jitter can negatively impact controlperformance. Jitter buffering has been studied as a solution, but it is necessary to obtain delay values in real-time. In this study, we propose an architecture that uses collected network information to realize jitter buffering suitable for user-managed IoT device control applications in the All-Photonics network. The architecture collects end-to-end delay values in real-time, implements jitter buffer based on the obtained values, and performs more detailed delay compensation control based on fixed delay values. This allows network conditions, which are normally out of user's control, to optimize the user's IoT device control application. We construct a basic motor-based experimental system around an FPGA and verify the effectiveness of the proposed architecture. An experiment shows that the proposed architecture holds jitter to any practical set value and achieves successful motor control within 0.62 s, whereas it cannot be controlled when there is no jitter buffer.
