The present paper was concerned primarily with the analysis, simulation of the air flow and thermal patterns in a lecture room. The paper is devoted to numerically investigate the influence of location and number of ventilation and air conditioning supply and extracts openings on air flow properties in a lecture room. The work focuses on air flow patterns, thermal behaviour in lecture room where large number of students;using unsteady technique, and comparing the results to previous work which was using steady technique. The effectiveness of an air flow system is commonly assessed by the successful removal of sensible and latent loads from occupants with additional of attaining air pollutant at a prescribed level to attain the human thermal comfort conditions and to improve the indoor air quality;this is the main target during the present paper. The study is carried out using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation techniques as embedded in the commercially available CFD code (FLUENT 6.2). The CFD modelling techniques solved the continuity, momentum and energy conservation equations in addition to standard k-Ε model equations for turbulence closure. Throughout the investigations, numerical validation is carried out by way of comparisons of numerical and experimental results. Good agreement is found among both predictions.

The Black Box is a substantial system with internal organization, structure and element behaviour, about which the observer has no information, but has the option to impact the whole system via its inputs and observe its reactions via its outputs. The observation of the black box is therefore behavioural. In the paper, we point out the possibility of alternative methods of teaching algorithms using the Black Box Method, which raise the curiosity of students and their desire to uncover the mystery. These boxes should be used as group activities at school or even as a solitary activity at home. Black box applications are also suitable as a part of e-sources in blended learning methods. In the paper, we will present tasks that can be programmed and in which it is important to know the basic, often very simple, mathematical relations. The activities described in the paper can be used in mathematics lessons and extended on programming lessons. We strive to describe how to use black boxes in educational practice and, furthermore, how to present principles of reverse engineering. We teach them the basic skills of scientific approach: to analyze the current situation, form hypotheses and consequently verify the correctness of stated assumptions. We mostly presented the tasks on a variety of training and educational workshops. In our experience, applications functioning as black boxes were proved to be adequate "recovery" activities within longer lectures (university), as well as an example of playful learning activities. This concept can be used in teaching, or even in leisure activities, for the activation of students. The contribution of the Black Box Method lies in development of students' curiosity, systematic approach and critical thinking while gaining new knowledge.

Requirement engineering is a difficult task which has a critical impact on software quality. Errors related to requirements are considered the most expensive types of software errors. They are the major cause of project delays and cost overruns. Software developers need to cooperate with multiple stakeholders with different backgrounds and concerns. The developers need to investigate an unfamiliar problem space and make the transition from the informal problem space to the formal solution space. The requirement engineering process should use systematic methods which are constructive, incremental, and rigorous. The methods also need to be easy to use and understand so that they can be used for communication among different stakeholders. Is it possible to invent a human intuitive modelling methodology which systematically translates the informal requirements into a formally defined model? behaviourengineering has arguably solved many problems. However, the size and low level of the final Behavior Tree makes it hard to match with the original requirements. Here, we propose a new requirement modelling approach called Rule-Based behaviourengineering. We separate two concerns, rules and procedural behaviours, right at the beginning of the requirement modelling process. We combine the Behavior Tree notation for procedural behaviourmodelling with a non-monotonic logic called Clausal Defeasible Logic for rule modelling. In a systematic way, the target model is constructed incrementally in four well-defined steps. Both the representations of rules and procedural flows are humanly readable and intuitive. The result is an effective mechanism for formally modelling requirements, detecting requirement defects, and providing a set of tools for communication among stakeholders.

Mimicking human arm motion has become a challenging topic for the researchers among the field of human rehabilitation, motor control and perception, biomechanics, and several other related research topics. Considering human-robot cooperation, this paper is focused on modeling human arm while performing planner motion. In this work human arm is assumed as a mass-spring-damper system and based on this assumption the related mathematical model is developed. The desired movement in this study is one of the daily activities with obstacle. mathematical model is developed with the help of the robotic principle, mechanical system analysis method, and also with the help of biological data. The kinematic and dynamic data is then analyzed. In this work kinematic data are taken from the ShapTape® device. The different components of the position, velocity and acceleration are compared. Besides, the analysis of the simulated torques is done. MATLAB is used for the simulation. These observations are expected to give several ideas for designing a controller for upper limb exoskeleton for rehabilitation purposes.

This paper deals with the performance modelling and analysis of offshore wind turbine-driven hydraulic pumps. The concept consists of an open loop hydraulic system with the rotor main shaft directly coupled to a swash plate pump to supply pressurised sea water. A mathematical model is derived to cater for the steady state behaviour of entire system. A simplified model for the pump is implemented together with different control scheme options for regulating the rotor shaft power. A new control scheme is investigated, based on the combined use of hydraulic pressure and pitch control. Using a steady-state analysis, the study shows how the adoption of alternative control schemes in a the wind turbine-hydraulic pump system may result in higher energy yields than those from a conventional system with an electrical generator and standard pitch control for power regulation. This is in particular the case with the new control scheme investigated in this study that is based on the combined use of pressure and rotor blade pitch control.

The D-Qaxis modelling of the shaded-pole induction motor employing the state vector analysis is approached to determinethe periodicity and chaotic phenomenon under different system parameters are observed. Accordingly, a chaotic-speed control of a fan can be achieved by appropriately varying the motors' internal parameters or the operation condition. Computer simulations have been developed to confirm the proposed non-linear model of the single-phase induction motor.
Recently, Bürger et al. (2011) developed a new 1-D SST model which allows for more realistic predictions of the sludge settling behaviour than traditional 1-D models used to date. However, the addition of a compr...

Increasing growing of electricity demand and environmental issues bring huge incentives to electric vehicles (EVs) market. EVs will improve the functionalities of present power system. On the other hand, unscheduled high penetration of EVs may have detrimental effects on power system performance. Reliability and stability are the most aspects of grid that face challenges when EVs used widely. As a result there is an exigent need to predict the EVs' customers in order to avoid irreparable effects, especially for the distribution network. In this paper, firstly a EVs' customer behaviour model will be discussed. Secondly, a probabilistic modelling of EVs' charging demand is introduced. This consummate model is on the two bases: technical specifications of different EV classes and historical driving data. Finally, sensitivity analysis is done in order to validate the model performance.
