In critical applications regarding safety, a solution must be validated before it is applied on the field. It is forbidden to test solutions directly on the real system for safety reasons. Any attempt of modification or introduction of a safety system must be approached with the utmost care. The proposed solutions must be validated, and, if possible, formally validated. It is the case of prevention systems for accidents, installed on highways. They also are in charge of gathering information in the case of an accident actually occurring. In this context, we aim to provide an approach to validate the behaviour of a critical system before its effective realisation. The system is modelled by a combination of agents spread around the world and working together in real-time. The agents' behaviour is modelled via an UML SysML model. Thanks to the tools available in the TTool environment and the ones developed only for this purpose, we can animate those agents and confirm, or not, their behaviour on various test situations (applications' rapid prototyping). Since the tests are not covering all the possibilities, we move to, then, verify formally the critical properties. This formal analysis is made possible by the mathematical grounds of the tool we use. The analysed properties are mainly safety properties;results regarding performance results are available as well.

Under a postulated accident scenario of loss of cooling medium in an Indian Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (IPHWR), temperature of the pressure tubes can rise and lead to large deformations. In order to investigate the modes of deformation of pressure tube - calandria tube assembly, material property data defining the flow behaviour over a temperature range from room temperature (RT) to 800 degrees C are needed. It is of practical importance to formulate mathematical equations to describe the stress-strain relationships of a material for a variety of reasons, such as the analysis of forming operations and the assessment of component's performance in service. A number of constitutive relations of empirical nature have been proposed and they have been found very suitable to describe the behaviour of a material. Although these relations are of empirical nature, various metallurgical factors appear to decide applicability of each of these relations. For example, grain size influences mainly the friction stress while the strain hardening is governed by dislocation density. In a recent work, tensile deformation behaviour of pressure tube material of IPHWR has been carried out over a range of temperature and strain rates (Dureja et al., 2011). It has been found that the strength parameters (yield and ultimate tensile strength) vary along the length of the tube with higher strength at the trailing end as compared to the leading end. This stems from cooling of the billet during the extrusion process which results in the variation of microstructure, texture and dislocation density from the leading to the trailing end. In addition, the variation in metallurgical parameters is also expected to influence the work hardening behaviour, which is known to control the plastic instability (related to uniform strain). In the present investigation, the tensile flow and work-hardening behaviour of a cold worked Zr-2.5Nb pressure tube material of IPHWRs has been studied over the temperat

A new design of a magnetorheological piston prototype intended for passive or active force control in robotic applications for human robot interaction is introduced. It is based in a novel toroidal array of valves, contained within the piston head, which are used to control the output force of the actuator in order to achieve a high degree of reliability, size efficiency, and safety, by exploiting the material properties of magnetorheological fluids and permalloy metals. This paper describes the main points in the development of the magnetorheological piston prototype, the mathematicalmodelling of the magnetic circuit, and the results of the experiments conducted using a universal testing machine to evaluate the passive performance of the prototype. Results show the feasibility and performance of the new toroidal magnetic circuit of the magnetorheological hydraulic piston prototype. Improvements in order to be able to test the active performance of the design together with a pump setup are proposed.

With the rapid increase of the number of the world population, the ecological environment has been consumed and destroyed. In this case, researchers around the world actively seek solutions and finally proposed the lifestyle of green consumption behavior. Based on the research, we carry out reliability test, descriptive analysis and the binary Logistic regression analysis using SPSS19.0. To analysis the relationship between demographic characteristics of college students, we found that females, people with high monthly consumption and people who learn about the environment, prefer to implement green consumer behavior and. Based on the data, we promote several suggestions about green consumption patterns. We hope it would play a role for the future of human development and environmental protection.

Hyperboloid drives (spatial skew-axes gears) are used to transform rotation between shafts with non-parallel and non-intersecting axes. In this paper the principles of mathematicalmodelling of a tooth contact synthesis for this common gearing case are discussed. The presented research shows that synthesis of hyperboloid gear drives can be achieved by application of mathematical model upon a pitch contact point. This approach is applied to the synthesis of spatial gear sets of Spiroid and Heliconl types.

Performance of electronic sensors used for physical measurements is highly depends upon the operating conditions. Environmental changes e.g., temperature variations do affect the sensor outputs especially for those which are used for very precise measurement. The effect of temperature variation from ambient to the harsh drastically degrades the electronic sensor output performance e.g., piezoelectric sensor in our case. It is very hard to model the output variation of piezoelectric sensor whose output is non-deterministic or random in nature and it also change with temperature. Normal mathematicalmodelling techniques to correct error are very difficult to implement due to complexity and nonlinearity. Data has been acquired from piezoelectric sensor used for pressure measurement whose output variation is random in nature with respect to the temperature variations. The scope of this paper is to study the behaviour of piezoelectric sensor output signal taking into consideration the different varying temperature profiles. Artificial intelligence technique like Fuzzy is used to minimize the error up to desirable amount. The novelty in our work is that Fuzzy approach has been implemented on this kind of engineering problem. Results have been compared with mathematical technique i.e., curve fitting based upon the error correction criterion. Fuzzy approach has shown significant improvement in error minimization of piezoelectric sensor as compared to the mathematical techniques.
