This paper describes LG-PACKAGE, a set of the Linguistic Geometry (LG) tools. LG is a type of game theory that is scalable to the level of the real world defense systems. The LG applications generate best strategies for all sides in a conflict in real time. We consider the main advanced features of the versions of LG-PACKAGE released gradually from 2004 through 2012. These releases converted LG-PACKAGE into the software of industrial strength applicable to the wide range of defense systems. The US and British defense agencies and the world major defense contractors utilize these tools.

The performance of weapon systems has become the focus in the area of military engineering. Analyzing the performance using simulation technology is one important process in the development of military equipment. In this paper, the necessary of the development of simulation system is proposed from the point of view of performance improvement. The object of the study is the networked fire control system of ship-based air defense. On the basis of the requirements description and analysis of the simulation system, the conceptual model based on unified modeling language is constructed. Furthermore, the simulation framework is developed using the high level architecture. The solid foundation for the further research of system operations, development of weapons, and tactical applications is provided.

The Night Vision Tactical Trainer - Shadow (NVTT-S) is a U.S. Army-developed training tool designed to improve critical Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUMT) communication skills for payload operators in Unmanned Aerial Sensor (UAS) crews. The trainer is composed of several Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) simulation components and takes the trainee through a series of escalating engagements using tactically relevant, realistically complex, scenarios involving a variety of manned, unmanned, aerial, and ground-based assets. The trainee is the only human player in the game and he must collaborate, from his web-based mock operating station, with various non-human players via spoken natural language over simulated radio in order to execute the training missions successfully. Non-human players are modeled in two complementary layers - OneSAF provides basic background behaviors for entities while NVTT provides higher level models that control entity actions based on intent extracted from the trainee's spoken natural dialog with game entities. Dialog structure is modeled based on Army standards for communication and verbal protocols. This paper presents an architecture that integrates the U.S. Army's Night Vision Image Generator (NVIG), One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF), a flight dynamics model, as well as Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) speech recognition and text to speech products to effect an environment with sufficient entity counts and fidelity to enable meaningful teaching and reinforcement of critical communication skills. It further demonstrates the model dynamics and synchronization mechanisms employed to execute purpose-built training scenarios, and to achieve ad-hoc collaboration on-the-fly between human and non-human players in the simulated environment.

Data modeling is a process that can convert non-real-time algorithms into functional approximations that can be executed in near real-time as platform independent mathematical equations or information transfer functions. These functional approximations are converted into a form amenable for streaming real-time execution by being converted into pre-calculated look-up table (LUT) form. We present the technique and relevant theory and demonstrate how this method can be applied to high level interactions, system level modeling and component modeling using a common framework. An important benefit of our technique is the ability to predict anomalous parameters from our models.

In this paper, a high-fidelity RF modeling and simulation framework is demonstrated to model an airborne multi-channel receiver system that is used to estimate the angle of arrival (AoA) of received signals from a stationary emitter. The framework is based on System Tool Kit (STK(R)), Matlab and SystemVue(R). The SystemVue-based multi-channel receiver estimates the AoA of incoming signals using adjacent channel amplitude and phase comparisons, and it estimates the Doppler frequency shift of the aircraft by processing the transmitted and received signals. The estimated AoA and Doppler frequency are compared with the ground-truth data provided by STK to validate the efficacy of the modeling process. Unlike other current RF electronic warfare simulation frameworks, the received signal described herein is formed using the received power, the propagation delay and the transmitted waveform, and does not require information such as Doppler frequency shift or radial velocity of the moving platform from the scenario;hence, the simulation is more computationally efficient. In addition, to further reduce the overall modeling and simulation time, since the high-fidelity model computation is costly, the high-fidelity electronic system model is evoked only when the received power is higher than a predetermined threshold.

Air defense combat is one of the important parts in the research of surface ships. In the long-range missile intercepting maneuvering targets is a key link of warship air defense systems. Especially, in this paper, we mainly study for air defense intercept combat mission in CGF (Computer Generate Force) system, we study the designing and simulation of the ballistic of ship based-missiles adopt vertical launching mode. Aiming at the maneuver of the target, we do modeling and simulation of interception trajectory model by using assumed target method. Finally, through the debugging operation with other CGF simulation against node, the feasibility of the model is verified.

With the help of AdvantEdge-a software of simulation, making the 2D simulation of super alloy GH4169 milling machining. The problem of defending a specific airspace is among the main issues a military commander to solve. Proper protection of own airspace is crucial for mission success at the battlefield. The military doctrines of most world armed forces involve two main options of defending the airspace. One of them is utilizing formations of fighter aircraft, which is a flexible choice. The second option is deploying modern SAM (Surface to Air Missile) systems, which is more expansive. On the other hand the decision makers are to cope with miscellaneous restrictions such as the budgeting problems. This study defines air defense concept according to modern air warfare doctrine. It considers an air defense scenario over an arbitrary airspace and compares the performance and cost-effectiveness of employing fighter aircraft and SAM systems. It also presents SWOT (Strenghts - Weakness - Opportunities - Threats) analyses of air defense by fighter aircraft and by modern SAMs and tries to point out whichever option is better. We conclude that deploying SAMs has important advantages over using fighter aircraft by means of interception capacity within a given time period and is cost-effective.

modeling and simulation technology is widely used to decision making from both practice and theory. The new development of decision making, especially decision-making for emergency event and online decision-making, raise new challenge to modeling and simulation. They require the simulation to be flexible, extensible, adaptable, composable and strong interaction. However, most of the simulation systems are rigid and difficult to change. In this paper, A new concept of Agile Model and simulation (AgMS) is proposed to fulfill these requirement. The concept, framework and key issues of agile simulation are proposed with the demand for the decision making of complex systems. A prototype is constructured that integrates four kinds of agility: parameter agility, rule agility, structure agility and resolution agility. Through the introduce of agile simulation into the meta-synthetic system, the experts system and the simulation system are syncretized with each other and become a parallel system, which can be co-evolution. The research of agile simulation will provide new ideas for complex system study, open up new paradigm of simulation application, and promote the widely application of meta-synthetic system.
