Composite drill pipe has known a big interest in the shortradius drilling industry due to its lightweight, flexibility and the performance properties of steel pipe Despite its benefits, composites suffer from fatigue when subjected to loads, which leads to failure. Transboundary haze pollution in South East Asia is posing a threat to conventional design of buildings yet indoor air pollution from haze particulate infiltration has still received less attention in Malaysia compared to haze pollution outdoors. Because of this minimal research effort, indoor building environments have increasingly become very complex environments for facility managers to monitor and control due to the corresponding growth in heterogeneity within building behavioural information and monitoring (sensory) systems. As a solution to this and part of an ongoing study, this paper presents the preliminary process of modelling heterogeneous building information related to indoor air quality (IAQ) (building envelope, sensors, contaminant properties, geometry, occupancy schedules and weather data) within modular and extensible semantic web knowledge graphs (KG). This work argues that this data model can preserve the existential and latent parametric relationships within such information therafter availing an accurate representation of the heterogeneous state-space in machine learning workflows of self-learning building monitors and controllers. Compared to the conventional homogenous feature vectors, KGs hold sufficient context-aware semantics for an algorithmic building control system to smartly monitor the IAQ and autonomously learn to adapt air handling units towards occupant comfort in an energy efficient manner. Specifically, this paper highlights the high-level implementation process of KGs within the deep Q-learning process of the aforementioned control systems. Finally, a brief discussion is provided on how this process reduces the complexity that facility managers face while operating their IAQ control systems followed by the conclusions and future work to be carried out in this study.

A high performance technology has been developed for unstable waterflooding of layered-heterogeneous producing reservoirs of oil fields with a thermal gradient. The technology is based on cyclic injection of a thermoactive low-viscosity oil-soluble liquid polymer composition into the formation, which passes into a high-viscosity phase in situ, blocking the produced formation water flow. Application of the technology results in the increase of area of stimulation, both along the strike and vertical sweep efficiency. monitoring the reservoir filtration characteristics enables control of the profile of the mixture advance in the formation. The effect of unstable injection of the proposed thermoactive polymer composition on the residual resistance factor was studied in an experimental setup consisting of two parallel-connected linear reservoir models with different permeability. The composition contains a working agent, a dispersant and sea water. The optimal ratio of the components that make up the composite mixture was determined as a result of laboratory and experimental studies. The viscosity behavior of the composite mixture at different temperature values for reservoir conditions is determined. monitoring techniques for reservoir filtration properties have been developed in order to control the flow profile of the mixture in the reservoir. The analysis of the obtained results showed the efficiency of this technology for layered-heterogeneous reservoirs with a thermal gradient and the availability of overflows. This technology enables aligning area of stimulation, both along the horizontal and vertically using smaller volumes of the agent and with a slight change in the injection pressure. Unstable injection of the composite system provides a significant additional removal of residual oil. For the polymer laser sintering process, achieving optimum mechanical properties requires that every volume element of a part experience a temperature history sufficient to reach full density. This history must include a peak temperature high enough to fully melt, but not degrade, the polymer and a cool-down period that ensures elimination of porosity, interlayer bonding and relaxation of stress. Real-time thermal monitoring of the laser sintering process has shown that this temperature history depends on the geometries of both the current and prior layers. In this paper we demonstrate a feed-forward control system that improves uniformity of the temperature history for parts with variable cross-sections. The control algorithm for this system will utilize information from layerwise geometry models for parts in a multi-part build. The cross-sectional area for every layer will be used at run-time for feed forward control the laser scan parameters. The results confirmed maintaining constant peak temperature throughout the part. This control system ensures optimized sintering for parts with complex geometries. © SFF *** rights reserved.

Novel, paper-based sensors with a sensitive layer of PEDOT:PSS, an organic semiconductor, are investigated for their suitability to monitor the curing process inside epoxy-based fiber composite materials. PEDOT:PSS shows a strong response toward temperature which appears to be increased by increasing humidity. At the same time, paper is expected to be an excellent substrate material for embedding in hybrid materials, as it is completely soaked by the resin that forms the matrix and thus adapts the material properties far better than conventional sensor substrates. Therefore, it is expected that the curing process can be monitored with these sensors directly inside the material layers offering improved process control, especially for thick composite parts.

The primary goal was to compare model replacements with and without DLC layer. Components were made of the Ti6Al4V alloy and coated with a DLC layer, the sliding sleeve made of a PEEK polymer. Testing was done in the saline physiological solution (9 g/L NaCl). The measuring system was supplemented with the corrosion behavior monitoring. The results show that the applied DLC coating significantly increases the service life of the implant. Based on the results it is possible to state that an accurate mechanical load together with corrosion behavior monitoring shifts testing in the given field to a qualitatively higher level. This technical paper delves into the Application of Smart Well Technology in polymer Flooding for Heavy Oil Recovery, with a focus on optimizing injection operations for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) in challenging reservoir conditions. The study involves a comprehensive analysis of reservoir properties, feasibility considerations, and cost-benefit assessments related to the integration of smart well technology. By incorporating real-time monitoring and control systems, smart wells autonomously optimize injection operations to maximize oil recovery while minimizing polymer consumption. The research encompasses a thorough analysis of polymer flooding, heavy oil recovery methods, and smart well technology, culminating in the development of a simulation model to evaluate the performance of smart well-assisted polymer flooding. Results and discussions from the simulation of polymer injection and production plans highlight the potential benefits and challenges of incorporating smart well. technology in polymer flooding operations. This study contributes to the advancement of enhanced oil recovery endeavors and provides valuable insights for future research and development in the field of heavy oil recovery. The suddenness and rapidity of modern warship disasters have been significantly intensified, and higher requirements have been put forward for the information level of the damage control (DC) command network. Based on the complex network characteristic analysis of DC command information system, the paper developed the network topology model and the performance evaluation index of the command system, pointed out the defects of the current model structure;also, it put forward a kind of structural optimization thought: dividing the DC command information network into command subnet and a unified monitoring control subnet, both of the subnets were optimized independently and then combined again;finally, it compared and analyzed the optimization effects of different optimization algorithms on command subnet and monitoring control subnet through an example. The simulation results showed that the performance of the optimized DC command information network is fully improved. It will be the focus of subsequent research to develop a structure optimization algorithm that comprehensively considers the properties of nodes and optimization costs, seek the end criterion of network structure optimization process, analyze the coupling relationship between subnet connection mode and the whole network structure optimization effect, and realize the integrated optimization path of network structure. © 2022 IEEE.
