Over the past few years, fuzzy time series model has been widely researched. However, previous studies have a problem that determines subjectively the length of intervals. Furthermore, the consideration of a forecasting stage only discusses the relations for previous period and next period. This paper propose a promising hybrid model to get more efficient forecasting. Hence, this study proposes a fusion model, which incorporates a granular spread partition method and the adaptive expectation method to enhance the forecasting results. To verify the proposed model, a ten-year period of the TAIEX (Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index) are employed as experimental datasets. From the experiment results, the performances of proposed integrated model surpass the listing models.

Sensor networks are a promising innovative technology to enable economically viable solutions to a variety of applications, for example pollution sensing, structural integrity monitoring, and traffic monitoring. A large subset of sensor network applications requires security, especially if the sensor network protects or monitors critical infrastructures. Unfortunately, the simplicity and low-cost of the sensors eases cloning and create a sibling of compromised nodes by attackers. These ID based assaults are the entry point to a large span of insidious attacks. In such circumstances, an adversary uses the credentials of a compromised node to surreptitiously introduce anomalies into the network. These infected nodes are then used to launch a variety of attacks that subvert the goal of the sensor application, and the operation of the underlying protocols. The detection of such attacks in a wireless sensor network is therefore a fundamental problem. Intension of this work is insinuate a new environs based beamforming approach (ESMS) to detect both clone and Sybil attack with the same strategy.

Convergence and ubiquity are the key characteristics of tomorrows service provision infrastructures. Cloud architectures will constitute cost-efficient backbones that will support the transmission, storage, and computing of the applications contents. These architectures can be used for business, scientific, and pervasive computing purposes. The diversity of the services delivered through cloud infrastructures increases their vulnerability to security incidents and attacks. The cost and complexity reduction requirements render the design and development of protection mechanisms even more challenging. In addition, key design features such as confidentiality, privacy, authentication, anonymity, survivability, dependability, and fault-tolerance are, in some extent, conflicting. The objective of this tutorial is to present the state-of-the-art of security and explore research directions and technology trends to address the protection of cloud communications and networking infrastructures. An emphasis will be made on the collaboration of mobile devices in cloud based infrastructures. The fundamental concepts of cloud computing security will be explored, including cloud security services, cloud security principles, cloud security requirements, and testing techniques.

Location-based services allow users to perform geo-spatial check-in actions, which facilitates the mining of the moving activities of human beings. This paper proposes to recommend time-sensitive trip routes, consisting of a sequence of locations with associated time stamps, based on knowledge extracted from large-scale check-in data. Given a query location with the starting time, our goal is to recommend a time-sensitive route. We argue a good route should consider (a) the popularity of places, (b) the visiting order of places, (c) the proper visiting time of each place, and (d) the proper transit time from one place to another. By devising a statistical model, we integrate these four factors into a goodness function which aims to measure the quality of a route. Equipped with the goodness measure, we propose a greedy method to construct the time-sensitive route for the query. Experiments on Gowalla datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our model on detecting real routes and cloze test of routes, comparing with other baseline methods. We also develop a system TripRouter as a real-time demo platform. © 2012 ACM.

With the explosive growth of information sources available on the WWW, it has become an important tool for users in order to find, extract, filter and evaluate the desired information and resources. The main purpose of this paper is to study the customer's behavior using the Web mining techniques and its application in e-commerce to mine customer behavior. The concept of Web mining describing the process of Web data mining in detail: source data collection, data pre-processing, pattern discovery, pattern analysis and cluster analysis. With the advanced information technologies, server are now able to collect and store mountains of data, describing their numerous contributions and different customer profiles, from which they seek to derive information about their customer's requirements. Conventional methods are no longer appropriate for these business situations to find the customer behavior. The principle of data mining is to cluster customer segments by using K-Means algorithm in which input data comes from web log of various e-commerce websites. Hence, determine the relationship between Web data mining and e-commerce and also to apply Web mining technology in e-commerce.

This paper describes the design of evaluation system for evaluating virtual class service. This system will be used for evaluating the virtual class in rural areas where the network capacity is limited. This virtual class service has been implemented in rural area where the users are the students of elementary school and teachers. The satisfaction of users is the most important thing that must be accounted to evaluate the success of service. The evaluation system is being designed using SERVQUAL methodology. SERVQUAL is a method for measuring user satisfaction. It compares between the expectation and user perception of one service. This is a quantitative method where the user of virtual classroom will give score of their expectation and perception. There are some aspects that will be measured using this method, they are tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and emphaty. However, to ensure the validity of the measuring of these aspects, the SERVQUAL questionaire must be designed well and easily to understand by the user. The purpose of this paper system is designing a web based system that can be used to evaluate the virtual class that has being operated so far using SERVQUAL methodology as a basis for the system. The user satisfaction is the most important key factor for the success of IT services.

IEEE 802.16 is a Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN) technology that supports both high speed data transmission and quality of service (QoS). Other than the data speed, QoS is always another concern to the end users and applications. However, providing QoS in IEEE 802.16 is a challenging mission because it involved many components that interact with each other. One of the important components in QoS provisioning process is the bandwidth granting process in which the amount of bandwidth to be granted to a SS is determined. Researchers tend to use simple algorithm for this purpose. However, it is found that some refinement in bandwidth granting process would greatly improve the network performance. This paper proposes a statistical approach to improve the bandwidth granting process. Through extensive simulations, the proposed statistical approach is shown to provide better network performance than conventional approach used by other researchers.

This paper presents motivation and ongoing work towards a system for Quality of Experience (QoE)-driven path assignment for multimedia services. The system goal is to enable negotiation of service and network communication parameters between end-users and to assign the network paths that are used for delivering multimedia flows according to the agreed service configuration. The key concept behind the system is a centralized multi-user optimization of the path assignments, which maximizes QoE by taking into account service utility functions, network topology, link capacities, and delay. Based on the output of the optimization process, the system implementation uses the OpenFlow to set up forwarding paths for the network elements.

Improving network lifetime is the fundamental challenge of wireless sensor networks. One possible solution consists in making use of mobile sinks. Sink mobility along a constrained path can improve the energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks. However, due to the path constraint, a mobile sink with constant speed has limited communication time to collect data from the sensor nodes deployed randomly. This poses significant challenges in jointly improving the amount of data collected and reducing the energy consumption. This paper propose a novel data collection scheme, called the Maximum Amount Shortest Path (MASP) using Improved Ant Colony Optimization, to address this issue, that increases network throughput as well as conserves energy by optimizing the assignment of sensor nodes. MASP is formulated as an integer linear programming problem and then solved with the help of improved ant colony optimization. Zone based partition is applied to implement the MASP scheme. The residual energy of each node is calculated and the optimal path is selected by considering the shortest path, residual energy, channel noise, and delay. This approach is validated through simulation experiments using NS2.

The present work is concerned with a particular type of online collaborative engagements, namely the management of e-Health campaigns and online intervention studies. In order to establish the baseline, the paper critically reviews prominent tactics facilitated by Social networking Services (SNS) and social web sites and contrasts them against the specific requirements of targeted online e-Health campaigns and intervention studies. Based on this analysis, the paper describes a web-based system that accommodates functionality and services to enable expert-patient collaboration and co-engagement in building online campaigns and conducting intervention studies. The value and benefits of this approach are illustrated using a case study of cancer patients searching for online nutritional support and collaborating with healthcare providers and other patients.
