A novel IP multimedia Subsystem (IMS) framework with cloud computing architecture is proposed for use in high-quality multimedia applications. The IMS supports heterogeneous networking with Quality-of-Service (QoS) policy. MapReduce analysis is also used to enhance cloud computing capability. This architecture enables users to access high-quality multimedia applications via Android-based appliances. In this study, the IMS QoS policies of three wireless access technologies, 3G, WiFi and WiMAX, are integrated in a cloud computing environment to provide different services such as VoIP services and video streaming services. Experimental results indicate that the proposed mechanism improves system performance by allocating resources according to service priority. The proposed architecture also significantly improves system capacity to accommodate numerous users.

This research focuses on the development and performance evaluation of MMS framework for internet applications. The details of the architecture and algorithms employed in the MMS framework for message delivery are presented. We implement the proposed MMS framework for internet application by building a mobile telemedicine system. On the client side, we develop MMS application that implements data compression and split techniques and on the server side, we implement merge and decompression techniques. The compression and split techniques are required in order to send large-size data files which is not possible with the existing MMS technology. The proposed technique ensures that the quality of data is perserved which is critical for accomplishing the diagnosis process. The performance measure, 'Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR)' is used to evaluate the quality of data. The experimental results show that the proposed framework can be used to develop internet applications for a practical mobile telemedicine system.

Using multipath routing protocols results in more efficient data transmission than single path routing protocols in Wireless multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs). In this paper, we propose a new mechanism for improving video transmission over WMSN based on queue priority scheduling. We assume that network has high CBR traffic with no video data in addition to video packets. In our mechanism, intermediate nodes buffer (queue) is scheduled for quick and righteously transmission of video packets compared with the other packets in network. Simulation results show that our proposed scheduling improves important Quality-of-Service (QoS) metrics such as end-to-end delay and frame loss percentage for video streaming.

Through analysis the wireless network testing system of China Mobile multimedia Broadcasting (CMMB) system and data mining association rules, design a method for analysis the CMMB wireless network. First, we can get a large number of data from wireless network testing system, and then, the data is discretized and import in database. Second, use the data mining association rules to obtain the key indicators of threshold for CMMB wireless network optimization. Finally, in the actual test in application, give the example of the Beijng CMMB wireless network test, we can get some Beijing CMMB wireless network optimization parameters. After application in the Beijing, it is not only to see the method can get some CMMB wireless network optimization parameters, but also it can reduce the complexity when testing the wireless network, and it is very easy to upgrade the system.

To maximize the utilization of system resources with satisfying diverse quality of service (QoS) requirements, a novel multiple utility factors-based parallel (MUFP) packet scheduling algorithm is proposed for the broadcast base station (BBS) and cell base station (CBS) mixed mode of broadband wireless multimedia (BWM) systems. MUFP takes into consideration QoS requirements, queue dynamics and channel state information to adapt service priority with multiple utility factors of quality of service, queuing delay, buffer occupancy, data rate, deadline and channel state profile. In order to reduce computation complexity, parallel packet scheduling is introduced by only selecting the part traffics with higher priority in the single utility factor buffer. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm improves delay and throughput performance with low complexity.

Recent advances in SoC technology offer the possibility to realize the function of wireless sensor network node in a single chip. In this paper a reconfigurable wireless sensor network node for quick transmission of voice data is being described. Compared with existing works, we can implement different types of components depends on the application in which the sensor is meant to use. Using Verilog, we provide a detailed description of the implementation of MAC layer controller protocol based on IEEE 802.15.4 MAC layer protocol. An improved CSMA/CA mechanism is introduced for the transmission of voice data, enhancing its timelines and reliability. Finally, we make up testing platform for MAC layer controller. From the hardware and software simulation results, the design of MAC layer controller based on FPGA is successfully verified.
