In this paper, the fast, efficient, lossless image compression system (FELICS) algorithm, which consists of two techniques; simplified adjusted binary code and Golomb-Rice code is proposed to provide the lossless compression method for high-throughput ***-Ported RAM 's are used to increase the processing speed The proposed architecture can be applied to the advanced HD display specifications which demand huge requirement of throughput. Due to the great innovation of display and information technology, the stringent requirement of data capacity is drastically increased in human life. The data compression technique is extensively applied to offer acceptable solution for this scenario.

End-users are anticipated to have more freedom in dynamically connecting to any service provider for any service through their multi-mode terminals in the next generation heterogeneous integrated networks. This paper proposes a novel analytical framework of such a mechanism, which allows a user to freely determine one of the selection criteria, and to freely select one of the accessible networks to connect with according to his willingness. For this purpose we define the user-centric QoS and user-centric cost, and derive their expressions. We also analyses the impact that different parameters on the user expected QoS using simulation.

Since one single node in a wireless sensor network (WSN) is quite power-limited, many of existing researches focus on abating the redundancy of transmission to achieve the goal of energy saving. However, they are mostly highly dependent on physical networks and routing, which will result in the excessive rawness of data, the great imbalance of energy consumption among nodes and the poor scalability of the network. To solve these problems, in this paper, with a number of brokers placed in the sensing domain, a service-oriented network structure is established by applying a networking algorithm based on routing distance. This network is distributed and self-organized, in which services are regarded as the units of node data and are forwarded within the network through the publish/subscribe communication model. Simulation results show that the network can efficiently locally process and transmit the services, manifesting a large advantage in energy saving and balance so as to extend the lifetime and applicability of the network.

Existing literature has looked to exploit wireless broadcast advantage (WBA) in order to optimize the performance of a wide variety of network operations. In this paper, we obtain a measure of WBA in a multihop scenario. We consider that all nodes in the network store and propagate implicitly received information from neighbourhood transmissions, resulting in the creation of a distributed cache, which we term broadcast cache. We obtain a lower bound on the growth of the broadcast cache in terms of the fewest set of transmissions in the network, which we define as the minimum set of non-altruistic transmissions. Subsequently, we use our results to obtain feasibility conditions that determine whether WBA can be effectively utilized depending on flow requirements.

The packet-switched NGN (Next Generation Network) architecture allows users to access multimedia services via the Internet anytime and anywhere. Through the core IP multimedia Subsystem (IMS), NGN can provide multimedia services, such as voice, video, data and messages over heterogeneous networks. However, for high-quality services in practical environment, the performance and QoS (Quality of Service) of NGN must be guaranteed. Thus, based on the Testing and Test Control Notation version 3 (TTCN-3) specifications, this paper develops a test system utilizing Open IMS Core for conformance test of IMS session initiation for fixed and mobile networks. We also verify the QoS and analyze the performance of SUT (System Under Test) from the experimental results.

Audio watermarking has attracted more attentions recently. In this paper, a novel audio watermarking based on statistical moment in wavelet domain. Firstly, we introduce the novel transformation called Point-to-Point Graph (PPG) into the sub-band signal after the wavelet decomposition. In order to increase the robustness, the three dimensional transformation is implemented and then the wavelet coefficients are transformed into a sphere. Hence, we analyze the statistical distribution of the radius. A novel watermarking techniques based on statistical moment of radius is suggested. Experimental results against Stirmark attack confirm the performance of our method. Moreover, the robustness of the method against MP3 is also investigated through extensive simulations.

As the size of data set in cloud increases rapidly, how to process large amount of data efficiently has become a critical issue. MapReduce provides a framework for large data processing and is shown to be scalable and fault-tolerant on commondity machines. However, it has higher learning curve than SQL-like language and the codes are hard to maintain and reuse. On the other hand, traditional SQL-based data processing is familiar to user but is limited in scalability. In this paper, we propose a hybrid approach to fill the gap between SQL-based and MapReduce data processing. We develop a data management system for cloud, named SQLMR. SQLMR complies SQL-like queries to a sequence of MapReduce jobs. Existing SQL-based applications are compatible seamlessly with SQLMR and users can manage Tera to PataByte scale of data with SQL-like queries instead of writing MapReduce codes. We also devise a number of optimization techniques to improve the performance of SQLMR. The experiment results demonstrate both performance and scalability advantage of SQLMR compared to MySQL and two NoSQL data processing systems, Hive and HadoopDB. © 2011 IEEE.

The incentive mechanisms based on reputation are often used to induce cooperation among selfish nodes to route and forward packets in ad hoc networks. Those mechanisms propose that nodes with lower reputation value will receive less benefit. This class of schemes suffers from a new problem of second-ordered free riding. Refusing service request from nodes with low reputation will increase the defector's own reputation, so refusing isn't always a favorable choice for selfish node. Modifying the basic scheme to mitigate this new selfish behavior is important to improve the cooperation in ad hoc networks and enhance system robustness. The paper discusses the second-ordered free-riding problem in incentive mechanism for packet forwarding in ad hoc networks and proposes a new scheme based on second-ordered reputation combining with a probabilistic service assignment rule. It is proved that the new scheme is available and cooperation can be built in various network settings. An evolutionary game model is introduced and the discrimination strategy may dominate the whole network gradually. It is also robust in the case there are various errors.

The 3GPP Long Term Evolution/System architecture (LTE/SAE) is the advancement of mobile cellular technology after UMTS. Due to major changes in the structure of core network, integration different access networks and various mobile subscriber behaviors, signaling traffic overhead of different processes is increasing significantly. One of these processes is Evolved Packet System-Authentication and Key Agreement (EPS-AKA) processes. In 3GPP LTE/SAE networks, there are new authentication triggers (e.g. horizontal and vertical handover, multimedia requests) other than call arrival and location updates which create a lot of traffic overhead; In this paper, by using an analytical model and statistical function, the average authentication signaling traffic of a UE is calculated. All computations are based on certain traffic parameters including random variable of time intervals between contiguous authentication triggers which mentioned above. All discrete events of time intervals are typically modeled by a random variable with a specific distribution such as Gamma and lognormal. According to the specified timing diagram in cellular networks while a UE is located in the serving network (MME), service requests-based Random Generator is simulated which estimates the average number of authentication events and the mean number of authentication vectors and also we analysis and compared different UE's behavior on the authentication traffic and effects of different tracking area update (TAU) method on authentication traffic is considered

Mobile multimedia contents have been introduced in the market and their demand is growing every day due to the increasing number of mobile devices and the possibility to watch them at any moment in any place. These multimedia contents are delivered over different networks that are visualized in mobile terminals with heterogeneous characteristics. To ensure a continuous high quality it is desirable that this multimedia content can be adapted on-the-fly to the transmission constraints and the characteristics of the mobile devices. In general, video contents are compressed to save storage capacity and to reduce the bandwidth required for its transmission. Therefore, if these compressed video streams were compressed using scalable video coding schemes, they would be able to adapt to those heterogeneous networks and a wide range of terminals. Since the majority of the multimedia contents are compressed using H.264/AVC, they cannot benefit from that scalability. This paper proposes a technique to convert an H.264/AVC bitstream without scalability to a scalable bitstream with temporal scalability as part of a framework for low-complexity video adaptation for mobile environments. The results show that when our technique is applied, the complexity is reduced by 82% while maintaining coding efficiency.
