Recently, a demand of adaptive multimedia service, which supports multimedia service migration according to user's location and characteristics of user device, is increased. In this paper, we propose a service migration system, which becomes aware of user device using intelligent agent. A peer-to-peer (P2P) network is composed of large number of peer computers which are cooperating by exchanging messages in networks. In multimedia streaming applications, multimedia data is required to be efficiently and reliably delivered to processes in a real-time manner. In order to support scalable and reliable multimedia streaming service, we newly discuss a multi-source streaming way where multiple source peers transmit packets of multimedia content to each peer. Each of the source peers transmits different packets with some redundancy to the peer in order to be tolerant of some number of faulty peers and packets lost.

Telecommunications giants around the world are converging into embracing an all-IP network infrastructure. Evolving their legacy networks to an all-IP infrastructure means ensuring the new IP-based counterparts could provide similar or better level of service quality. Due to the rapid evolution and extensive user demands of multimedia communication services, quality of service (QoS) provisioning in all-IP network has become more and more important. In this paper, an adaptive codec switching techniques in providing improved conversational quality in an audio call is explored. In this paper, we propose an interactive virtual space presentation system for e-commerce or virtual museum by three dimensional objects which are correctly selected from the distributed multimedia database over Internet based on the user subjective information, such as user perceptual information and the objective information, such as his/her occupation, age, sex, nationality. XML is used to realize reusable data format and adaptive media object presentation based on user's background information as a multimedia data management. According to the increasing interests of healthcare and medical information services for healthy living, the multimedia authoring tools for healthcare and medical contents are strongly required. In this paper, a new multimedia authoring tool supporting user-friendly interfaces is implemented, which is based on SMIL (synchronized multimedia integration language) producing Web-based multimedia contents. The implemented authoring tool in this paper not only provides functionalities to play, verify and modify the partial contents immediately but also offers capabilities to insert multimedia objects into contents with ease. The multimedia contents containing disparate healthcare and medical information can be easily designed with this tool. The enhanced usability of this tool can contribute to the realization of diverse healthcare and medical information services.

Authentication is a primary component for secure delivery of multimedia content in many consumer networking applications: to guarantee the integrity of the received data stream. Meanwhile, consumer networks increasingly used for multimedia information and commercial content delivery, are destined to be heterogeneous. To provide QoS, it is necessary to adapt the multimedia stream to the heterogeneous network channel conditions and device capabilities. This new adaptation requirement, together with the 'best effort' and 'error prone' characteristics of IP and wireless networks, and the 'real time playback' property of streaming media impose challenges in the design of the streaming media authentication schemes. Conventional message authentication schemes do not offer suitable scalability or loss resilient capability for this new set of applications. A suitable authentication scheme must allow the recipient to authenticate the received data faster than the packet receiving rate, with means to adapt to channel conditions and device capability, despite any losses or transmission errors. In this paper we study the design of loss resilient scalable media stream authentication and present a scheme that is scalable and loss resilient.
