Denoising using Discrete Wavelet Transform is very popular in image processing. The main tasks of this kind of approach include the image decomposition into random sub-bands and the Wavelet coefficients extraction. In this paper a GPU parallel algorithm to compute and extract Wavelet coefficients is proposed. As preprocessing we use the Donoho method to study the amount of noise present in the images;while for suppression or shrinkage criterion we suggest the Garrote threshold. The selection process in this work was performed through two algorithms: Hard and Non-Negative Garrote Thresholding. Our work-frame uses a parallel approach to extract Wavelet coefficients at level of sub-bands, so that significant improvements are achieved over the CPU version, which a speedup gain of around four times with respect to the serial version. Some tests and numerical experiments show the efficiency and the quality obtained using the proposed method.

New Generation Networks (NGNs) are being increasingly deployed through their different benefits, primarily in terms of fast routing and commercialization of new IP-based services. In general, opening up to an IP service industry means that operators must invest in ensuring the necessary quality of service. As a result, QoS management in NGN has become a vital task, it is not acceptable to manually reconfigure each of the routers to provide the user with a good level of service. The SDN paradigm allows a controller to provide the network with the ability to follow a single control point. This paper introduces a new model of intelligent quality of service management in an MPLS based network, based on the SDN concept. The model offers a separation of data, control and transport plans for fast and efficient processing. The model consists of automatically and dynamically adjusting QoS policies for better data transmission quality.

Future mobility management systems need to incorporate innovative methods to improve mobile multimedianetworking, such as quality-oriented decision-making functions for selecting the best Point of Attachment (PoA) for in-transit Moving Objects (MOs). Among the various correlating algorithms raised in the literature, solutions based on the Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) are beneficial by their efficiency in mobile multimedianetworking. For the best of our knowledge, the literature lacks a comprehensive analysis concerning the subjective aspects related to user perception/satisfaction, the key to assessing multimedia Quality of Experience (QoE). The state of the art in MADM quality-oriented mobility management evaluation only address network-/packet-level Quality of Service (QoS) measures. Therefore, this work fills this gap by undertaking a user-centric QoE evaluation of the foremost available MADM-based algorithms used in quality-oriented mobility management over our previous work: the Extended Elitism for Best Selection (E2BS). The QoE evaluation is conducted leveraging the flexibility of the Software-Defined Mobile networking (SDMN) paradigm. The QoE analysis outcomes demonstrate that E2BS outperforms the selected MADM-based methods, by improving the overall QoE perceived by mobile users when consuming multimedia mobile flows.

The issue of maximizing the influence is a hot topic in the research of social network. Many researchers have studied from the perspective of the structure of the network such as the LeaderRank algorithm. However, the algorithm lacks semantic interpretability and explanations for user behavior. Therefore, we propose a novel URI (user-relational iterative) rank to address the above issues. The URI rank is divided into two parts to obtain the values of user influence. The first part is the forwarding probability based on the user relationship. We introduce the relationship between users to the user transition probability and use the random forest to quantify the value of the forwarding probability. The second part is the random transition probability based on the ground node. We optimize the weight assigning of the random transition probability by combining static decentralization and dynamic decentralization. Thus, we more accurately represent the user's random transfer behavior. The experiments performed on the Sina Micro-Blog Dataset show that our algorithm outperforms the existing algorithms.

The success of the current Internet architecture over the past decades has been attributed to its simple layered host-centric communication model. Unfortunately, this same design is now posing a significant challenge to newly developed applications such as media streaming, social networking and location-based services that are content- rather than host-centric. Information Centric Networks (ICNs) were introduced to address this challenge by allowing applications to retrieve contents using their names while being agnostic to their physical location. The key enabler to achieving this task is the development of efficient, robust and scalable name-based routing mechanisms. This paper discusses the main requirements of these mechanisms, analyzes existing key name-based routing approaches and highlights future research directions in that area.
