Memory-based computing using associative memory has emerged as a promising solution to reduce the energy consumption of important classes of streaming applications such as multimedia by avoiding redundant computations. In associative memory, a set of frequent patterns that represent basic functions are pre-stored in ternary content addressable memory (TCAM) and reused. The primary limitation to using associative memory in modern parallel processors is the large search energy required by TCAMs. In TCAMs, all match rows, except hit rows, precharge and discharge in every search operation, resulting in high and undesirable energy consumption. In this paper, we propose a new multiple-access single-charge (MASC) TCAM architecture which is capable of searching TCAM contents multiple times with a single precharging cycle. In contrast to previous designs, the MASC TCAM keeps the match-line voltage of all miss-rows high and uses their charge for the next search operation, while only the hit rows discharge. We use a periodic refresh scheme to guarantee the accuracy of the search. We also implement a new type of approximate associative memory by setting longer refresh times for MASC TCAMs, which yields search results within 1-2 bit Hamming distances of the exact result. Our evaluation on AMD Southern Island GPU shows that using MASC associative memory can improve the average GPGPU energy efficiency by 36.6%, 40.2% and 39.4% for exact matching, selective 1-HD and 2-HD approximations respectively, with acceptable quality of service (PSNR>30dB). These energy savings are 1.8X and 1.6X higher than GPGPU using exact matching TCAM and approximation TCAM that uses voltage overscaling, respectively.

In recent years, augmented-reality (AR) has been attracting extensive attentions from both the research community and industry as a new form of media, mixing virtual content into the physical world. However, the scarcity of the AR content and the lack of user contexts are major impediments to providing and representing rich and dynamic multimedia content on AR applications. In this study, we propose an approach to search and filter big multimedia data, specifically geo-tagged mobile videos, for context-aware AR applications. The challenge is to automatically search for interesting video segments out of a huge amount of user-generated mobile videos, which is one of the biggest multimedia data, to be efficiently incorporated into AR applications. We model the significance of video segments as AR content adopting camera shooting patterns defined in filming, such as panning, zooming, tracking and arching. Then, several efficient algorithms are proposed to search for such patterns using fine granular geospatial properties of the videos such as camera locations and viewing directions over time. Experiments with real-world geo-tagged video dataset show that the proposed algorithms effectively search for a large collection of user-generated mobile videos to identify top K significant video segments.

Various techniques which can be been implemented for protective big scale multimedia content. This paper proposes one extra design for the equal. This design impacts the performance, speedy development, scalability as nicely as elasticity in relation to cloud. This method contains the workload on the cloud. There exists distinctive styles of multimedia contents consisting of audio, video in both 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimentsional, images, audio and videos. Most of our records is stored on local networks with servers that may be clustered and sharing. This technique has had time to be developed into strong architecture, and offer decent redundancy whilst deployed right. A more recent rising technology, cloud computing, has shown up disturbing interest and quick is changing the direction of the generation landscape. In our studies work we've tried to paintings with the improved mode of protection of the content material which is going to be stored at cloud computing platform. The studies has been executed keeping the destiny aspects in mind. Today the cloud computing is a new arena and all of us hoping it to be safe and relaxed. But we ought to not ignore the destiny aspects of the hacking systems and their methodologies. By keeping the destiny components in thoughts our work has distributed the statistics into exclusive server platforms in order that if a person attempts to get to the facts, he's going to ought to access all the platforms supplied for the statistics storage. A primary idea of advanced aco has also been brought into our research work and we've carried out the MD5 safety algorithm along with the DES for the higher encryption popular of our statistics. Characteristics of multimedia cloud computing and in the fifth phase we analysis the RSA Algorithm & DES Algorithm. Finally we present the Conclusion & future works with the references.
