With the incoming of information era, Internet has been developed rapidly and offered more and more services. However, intrusions, viruses and worms follow with the grown of Internet, spread widely all over the world within high speed network. Although many kinds of intrusion detection systems (IDSs) are developed, they have some disadvantages in that they focus on low-level attacks or anomalies, and raise alerts independently. In this paper, we give a formal description about attack patterns, attack transition states and attack scenarios. We proposed the system architecture to generate an attack scenario database correctly and completely. We first classify and extract attack patterns, then, correlate attack patterns with pre/post conditions matching and. Moreover, the approach, attack scenario generation with casual relationship (ASGCR), is proposed to build an attack scenario database Finally, we present the combination of our attack scenario database with security operation center (SOC) to implement the related components concerning alert integrations and correlations. It is shown that our method is better than CAML [4] since we can generate more attack scenarios effectively and correctly to help system managers to maintain network security.

As a next generation service, immersive media is the most attractive one, which is indispensable for supporting human tele-presence and virtual lab. The immersive media service requires high standards on interactive response delay and synchronization among media for comfortable communication in users' perspective. To measure the customer's experiences from the network provider side, we propose a new measure of quality of experience (QoE), the distortion ratio of service datum (DRS), by calculating how much original statistical property of the service datum is distorted at the receiver end. DRS can make possible compare the QoEs among the heterogeneous services by providing the deterministic value. We also suggest a connection admission control algorithm for supporting the stringent QoE in the virtually synchronized packet network. With the statistical on-off flow description, the loads on a link after aggregating traffic flows can be estimated in terms of probability. According to the level of QoE, admission control algorithm guarantees the deterministic latency in probabilistic manner, while maximizing the usage of network resources.

Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET) is a key technology enabler in the tactical communication domain for the Network Centric Warfare.[1] A self-forming, self-healing, infrastructure-less network consisting of mobile nodes is very attractive for beyond line of sight (BLOS) voice and data range extension as well as tactical networking applications in general. Current research and development mostly focus on implementing MANET over new wideband data waveforms. However, a large number of currently fielded tactical radios and the next generation software defined radios (SDR) support various legacy tactical radio waveforms. A mobile ad hoc network over such legacy tactical radio links not only provides war fighters mission critical networking applications such as Situational Awareness and short payload messaging, the MANET nodes can also support voice and legacy data interoperation with the existing fielded legacy radios. Furthermore, the small spectrum footprint of current narrowband tactical radio waveforms can be complementary to the new wideband data waveforms for providing networking access in a spectrum constrained environment. This paper first describes the networking usage requirements for MANET over legacy narrowband tactical waveforms. next, the common characteristics of legacy tactical radio waveforms and the implications of such characteristics for the MANET implementation are discussed. Then an actual MANET implementation over a legacy tactical radio waveform on a SDR is presented with the results of actual field tests. Finally, several improvements to this implementation are proposed.

The next generation of Guided Radar (GUIDAR) is based on Ultra Wide Band (UWB) radar signal processing. Just as spread spectrum technology has revolutionized the communications industry, UWB is dramatically changing radar signal processing. These advanced signal-processing techniques are adapted to leaky coaxial cable technology in the next generation GUIDAR to provide new features and enhanced performance. At the core of the new technology is an ultra high-speed digital correlator implemented in a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Complementary orthogonal codes based on Golay codes are used to produce thumbtack correlation functions simultaneously in multiple range bins. The net result is "near continuous wave (CW)" performance in forty to eighty 11.6-meter long-range bins with targets located within one meter along the length of cable. This is a dramatic improvement over the 3% duty cycle of the original GUIDAR and the typical 100 to 200 meter-long zones of current CW leaky cable sensors. Uncorrelated complementary codes are transmitted on each of two leaky coaxial cables. The responses from two parallel receive cables are digitized directly and down converted to baseband using quarter rate translation. The uncorrelated nature of the code allows the A and B sides of the processor to operate without interfering with each other. Synchronous sampling at twice the chip rate ensures that each target is observed in three adjacent sample bins. The phase and amplitude response in the three adjacent samples are combined to precisely pinpoint (within 1 meter) the locations of targets along the length of each of the two cables. The ability to precisely locate and track multiple simultaneous targets on each of two cables leads to numerous new features and performance benefits relative to existing leaky cable sensors. This paper investigates the sensitivity of the achievables rates for the full-duplex relay channel to small additive disturbances on channel links. The focus is on two relaying strategies - the decode-and-forward (DF) mode and the compress-and-forward (CF) mode. We use Fisher Information and De-Bruijn's identity to assess the decrease in the corresponding rates due to small additive contaminating noise. Analysis sheds light on the respective sensitivity levels of these schemes and hence, provides insights onto the choice of appropriate relaying strategies in the situations where some trade-off between transmission rate and sensitivity is needed. next, we show that these results can be used to emphasize the effect of channel estimation error on relaying transmissions. An important (somehow intuitive) observation at this stage is that transmission through the direct link (i.e., relay is off) may improve upon both decode-and-forward and compress-and-forward schemes, when the channel is "bad enough". Finally, a lower bound on the capacity of a relay channel under channel estimation error is obtained by combining well known relaying strategies, each over the appropriate SNR range. Analysis is supported by some examples.

The rapid spread of IP-based access technologies as well as the move towards core network convergence with IMS has led to an explosion in multimedia content delivery across packet networks. Although this transition has led to a much wider and richer service experience, there is also increased concern related to media protection and secure delivery of content that is sent over networks in digital form. There are many efforts ongoing to address this area of DRM in a converged world. The Open Mobile Alliance has probably the most comprehensive approach to this with the recent release of the DRM V2.0 pre-release. Enhanced key management is the most powerful introduction in OMA DRM 2.0 which is used in the trust and security model providing authentication both at user equipment and the application server filling in the gaps of DRM 1.0. In our opinion, the current key management needs an enhancement based on the parameters of messaging introduced by IMS. The main drawback is that only the equipment and application server gets authenticated when we can have the user authenticated before using of content, which would also lead to law enforcing when a user illegally transfers the media file to another user. This paper proposes a novel method of enabling an added level of security and media protection by improving the current key management. The use of this methodology on an existing DRM agent and a customized media streaming component is detailed in the paper. The paper lays out the changes in network infrastructure, both on the client as well as server side, required to enable this. It addresses issues of scalability and performance that are required in a mass-deployed service provider based setup, and demonstrates how the proposed solution would not adversely affect these quality parameters.

Advent of Beyond 3G or 4G wireless communication network envisions broadband wireless data access and there by rich multimedia services experience to the mass market. This wireless evolution to 4G network has the potential to reduce end to end latency and round trip delay, by consolidating and ldquoflatteningrdquo the wireless core network. This network evolution is germane to IMS architecture to support new multimedia services with lower latency characteristics. One of the key service envision to take the market is the high-end real time mobile interactive gaming which is rich in multimedia experience, hence need very stringent real-time/latency requirements. The researches to make Interactive Mobile game the ldquoKiller Applicationrdquo was mainly focused to work around the latency and bandwidth limitations of mobile network. One of the unexplored areas is handling the interworking of mobile services and real time interactive gaming effectively for the multi-vendor, multi platform mobile network. This paper identifies that one of the key challenge in the future mobile gaming is the Service Interaction between games and other mobile services. This paper analyses the gap in the current user equipment based implementations to resolve some of these interworking issues. This paper goes further and discusses in detail how the IMS architecture can resolve these interaction issues at the network level and come up with a generic solution which is access agnostic and device independent.

In this research, we propose a virtual traditional crafting system that realizes the multimodal communications by using cave system or tiled display over the next generation network. In this system, various places in Japan are connected by a super-high-speed network to construct a presentation system which takes into consideration of human sensitivity for impression to Japanese traditional crafting in virtual reality environment. Three versions of the Japanese traditional crafting system have been prototyped including PC version, CAVE version and tiled display version were developed. In addition, in there, interactive communications between remote users are enabled by using non-verbal communication information and user's sensibility as an additional information. Thus, a new communications system that integrates the virtual reality space of Japanese traditional crafting system and 3D video images is realized.

The increasing complexity of systems-on-chip (SoCs) has led to the critical "design productivity gap" problem. Several strategies are being employed to cope with this problem, including an IP-based design flow, as well as platform-based designs for application domains. These approaches have critically increased the amount of on-chip communication. Since on-chip communication architectures have a significant impact on system performance, power dissipation and time-to-market, system designers, as well as the research community have focused on the issue of exploring, evaluating, and designing SoC communication architectures to meet the targeted design goals. On the other hand, aggressive scaling of VLSI technology has resulted in nanoscale effects that adversely affect interconnect performance, reliability, power dissipation, and predictability; new approaches to on-chip communication architectures (e.g., networks-on-chip) need to be devised in order to overcome these effects. The tutorial is structured into four parts, covering: i) scaling trends in nanometer interconnects and related methodology challenges; ii) architectural modeling and analysis of communication traffic and synthesis of current on-chip bus-based communication architectures iii) high-performance bus protocols and topologies, including design examples; and iv) emerging network-on-chip (NoC) paradigms for next generation designs. The tutorial begins by highlighting the key emerging issues in the domain of interconnect modeling and analysis. The implications of various nanoscale effects on VLSI interconnect performance, reliability, power dissipation and parasitic extraction are also presented. Promising new technologies including 3-D ICs and carbon nanotube (CNT) interconnects are outlined which have the potential to meet these interconnect challenges in the nanometer era. Summary form only given. For many years, the automotive network was a set of isolated field buses used for independent applications. With growing automotive electronics complexity, the network has become a means for systems integration. Now, gateways are used to allow the exchange of sensor data, diagnostics, and signalling for networked control. The approved design and certification process developed around the CAN bus does not easily scale to such larger networks and to interdependent embedded systems functions. With the new FlexRay bus standard, much higher bandwidth is provided. Combined with higher performance configurable gateways, there is a good chance that next generation network bandwidth requirements will be met. However, higher bandwidth does not necessarily mean better real-time or safety properties. Also, the automotive network is still widely seen as a collection of network components that are configured by the OEM to fit an individual set of automotive functions. How does this approach match the new automotive software standard, AUTOSAR, which defines a new level of interoperability and portability hiding much of the embedded platform properties from the application software? Would it be more appropriate to switch to an integrated automotive network that offers performance and safety guarantees based on formally defined performance and safety parameters and leave it to an independent network development how to reach such QoS data? Or are such integrated networks - as known from telecom - inappropriate and will be inferior, given the very complex function dependencies and cost pressure? There are many more questions in this context: are the current protocols, architectures, design methods, and tools appropriate? What innovations are most urgently needed? Who shall develop the networks in the future, the OEM or a 1st tier supplier? What would be the consequence for the design process?
