This research work identifies the reliability needs for aeronautical telecommunication network (ATN) applications taking into account the performance metrics imposed by the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), typically the Required Communication performance (RCP) documents. The study is based on the existing OSI protocol stack simulations using OMNET++ software. The data traffic generated by each node is based on a statistical analysis of real controller-Pilot DataLink Communications (CPDLC) log files obtained from French Area control Center (ACC). The simulation results highlight the limits of the OSI protocols in particular at the level of the transport layer with the Connection-Oriented Transport Protocol Class 4 (COTP4) compared to TCP New Reno version that we considered in this study. Moreover, relevant analysis of these limits allows us to define the end-to-end reliability properties and mechanisms that the transport layer should provide for the future ATN/IPS networks.

This paper proposes a new method of monotonicity, which is used to solve the overfitting problem of the Long-Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model. The main contribution of this paper is applying the monotonicity as priori knowledge to the modeling process. This study uses scatter plots to describe bivariate variables and the Spearman coefficient to extract the monotonicity of data. To exclude most noise point, the scatter diagram is filtered by a binary 0-1 liner program. Base on the monotonicity of data have known, an optimization problem with constraint is proposed to obtain the LSTM neural network model. An experiment of ethylene cracking show that the proposed method can achieve a good predicting performance and less overfitting effects.

In this paper, we propose a hierarchical control framework for the optimal positioning of idle vehicles for maximizing service level. An economic model predictive controller at the upper layer repositions idle vehicles between urban regions towards balancing interregional responsiveness, while a coverage controller at the lower layer distributes idle vehicles over space towards balancing intraregional responsiveness. Studies on detailed simulations of an urban road network suggest the potential of the method for improving performance.

We consider a multi-agent system where agents aim to achieve a consensus despite interactions with malicious agents that communicate misleading information. Physical channels supporting communication in cyberphysical systems offer attractive opportunities to detect malicious agents, nevertheless, trustworthiness indications coming from the channel are subject to uncertainty and need to be treated with this in mind. We propose a resilient consensus protocol that incorporates trust observations from the channel and weighs them with a parameter that accounts for how confident an agent is regarding its understanding of the legitimacy of other agents in the network, with no need for the initial observation window T-0 that has been utilized in previous works. Analytical and numerical results show that (i) our protocol achieves a resilient consensus in the presence of malicious agents and (ii) the steady-state deviation from nominal consensus can be minimized by a suitable choice of the confidence parameter that depends on the statistics of trust observations.
