This paper presents a Real-Time Neural Spikes (RT-Neu) Imaging system on FPGA that processes and detects the electrical activity of a neurons population taken from rat hippocampi on an Electrolyte-Oxide-Semiconductor (EOS) Multi Electrode Array (MEA) local matrix of 32x32 pixels. RT-Neu has been implemented on Xilinx Zynq-7000 ARM/FPGA SoC. It receives the neural signals coming from a 9.375 kSample/(***) 32x32 pixels EOS Biosensor, filters the single-pixel low-frequency offset/noise components and finally performs a multi-pixel signal processing (using a PCA-based correlation algorithm) to provide a final spatial map of the neural culture electrical activity. The correlation algorithm has been implemented to operate on multiplexed signals allowing to identify single neural Action Potentials (AP) with amplitudes as low as 215 mu V0-PEAK. A dedicated GUI has been developed to monitor in real- time the neuron population electrical activity and whose demo video can be found at [1].

An input coupler is designed for Ka-band TE21 large orbit gyro-TWT. The coupler converts the rectangular waveguide TE10 mode to the circular waveguide TE21 mode required for the gyrotron traveling wave tube. The input coupler has an important effect on the performance of gyro-TWT. The structure size of the TE21 mode was given by theoretical analysis. The input coupler of Ka-band large orbit gyro-TWT is simulated and designed by using CST simulation software, the influence of the length and width of the coupling gap on the S parameter is studied. By optimizing the size of the rectangular coupling hole, this input coupler can achieve a 1dB bandwidth of about 4.18GHz, with the reflection coefficient below -15dB in the frequency range of 33.3 to 37.5GHz. The simulation results show that the coupler can be applied to large orbit gyro-TWT with wide band and high power.

In this experimental study, a certain amount of graphene oxide nanomaterial was dispersed in a blend of natural ester oils like coconut oil and traditionally used mineral oil to form graphene oxide nanofluids under different volume fractions. The electrical properties of the tested nanofluid samples and base oil samples, such as dielectric strength, loss tangent, and specific resistance and physical properties such as flash point and fire point, are tested as per IEC and ASTM standards. The result shows that by mixing nanoparticles with an optimum ratio of blended oils, the dielectric strength enhanced up to 68.3kV in comparison to base mineral oil and coconut oil. Loss tangent of the nanofluid sample decreased by 0.12 in comparison to coconut oil. The specific resistance of prepared nanofluid enhanced upto 4.12E11Ω-cm, which is the higher value in comparable to base coconut oil. Similarly, the flash and fire resistance enhanced up to 342°C and 370°C temperature in comparison to mineral oil and coconut oil. Thus, the tested Graphene oxide-nanofluid can be used as an alternative to mineral oil for power transformer application.

Content addressable memory (CAM) is used as a hardware in lookup intensive applications. despite high-speed feature, power consumption is the major limitation in CAM design. In this work, a compact CAM cell employing a high-speed comparison and evaluation is presented for a segmented NOR match-line (ML) with reduced ML capacitance. The non-pipeline CAM architecture minimizes switching activity of precharge and search at the cost of negligible overhead of a ML precharge and decision block. A 64×32-bit proposed macro is realized using 45-nm CMOS technology. Post-layout simulations at 1.1 V shows that proposed architecture achieves 203.60 ps search time while dissipating only 1.07 fJ/bit/search. Consequently, it leads to 71.24% and 84.85% energy-delay-product reductions over a conventional CAM and local-NOR global-NANd CAM, respectively. The proposed CAM based on two-segment configuration delivers ML power reductions of 12.26%-62.27% over the two CAMs. The proposed design is capable of operating efficiently at relatively low supply voltage and worst process corner. © 2019 IEEE.

This paper present a current-mode electronically tunable biquadratic filter. A single EX-CCCII is used for designing the new circuit. Moreover two capacitors and three switches are also used. All standard second order filter responses are realized by selecting the proper input current terminals (IIN1, IIN2) and switches (SW0, SW1, SW2). The circuit parameters;quality factor (Q), and the angular frequency (omega-mathrmo) are independent. For the fixed value of capacitances and bias current, the omega-mathrmo can be increased further by using the digital control word (k). The workability of the proposed circuit is demonstrated through the PSPICE simulator. © 2019 IEEE.

A Compact microstrip feed cavity backed glass shaped substrate integrated waveguide slot antenna is proposed for millimeter wireless applications, slot shape and operated in 60GHz band that is ranges from 57 to 64GHz frequency band. The proposed antenna is simulated, tested, validated and also produces good radiation patterns. The proposed design as an impedance bandwidth of 7GHz that is operated frequency from 57 to 64GHz with reference of S11= -10dB line and also introduces RLC equivalent model is developed with MATLAB with transfer function based analysis to validate the reflection coefficient of the design and introduced mathematical equations of proposed design far field patterns. © 2019 IEEE.

Landmark localization is a very important step for many face-related computer vision applications. Compare to the holistic approaches (e.g. AAMs), constrained local models (CLMs) shows good performance for landmark localization in non-rigid facial images. But these methods are always limited by the initialization. This paper proposed an eye center guided constrained local model where the initialization is performed by mean face shape taking eyes as references. First, we have adopted a hybrid eye detector method to find both the eye centers and then mean face shape is placed on the basis of orientation and distance of two eye centers. Moreover, we have analyzed our models with some descriptors to find the best descriptor to represent our model. The proposed CLM approach has been tested on AR and Multi-PIE databases with 130 and 68 landmarks respectively. The experimental results suggest that our proposed method has achieved improved performance as compared to existing methods. © 2019 IEEE.

Modern communications systems utilize effective encoding plans, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and high-order QAM-constellations for improves spectral efficiency. However, as the dimensions of the system grow, the design of efficient and low-complexity MIMO receivers possesses technical difficulties. Here in this paper, we have demonstrated data reduction method using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to fuse the data at sensor level at the transmitter and regress the same at the receiver for improvising the channel capacity of the system. We have fused 45 signals sensor data having a bandwidth from 100Hz - 3000Hz which is sampled at 6000 Hz each. The regression is measured using the RMSE of the transmitted and received signals. Also, the communication system has demonstrated the performance of the 2, 4, 8QAM modulation technique with and without LdPC decoder(log-domain) for 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 Multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO) channel for Bit Error Rate (BER). The performance parameters for data regression and communication error is evaluated over AWGN channel ranging from -15dB to 40dB SNR. The proposed system useful for the next generation low bandwidth communication system such as wireless systems developments, i.e., WiMAX and 4G, 5G, 6G. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd.
