This article discusses the problems of developing rational technologies and remote control systems for the processes of water injection into the reservoir (pumping stations to maintain reservoir pressure) and oil production using mechanized methods (rod pumping units, electric centrifugal pumps, etc.) in the late stage of oil field operation, which is characterized by difficult oil *** main problems of the process of pumping water into the formation to maintain the pressure necessary to displace the oil-water mixture to production wells, and ways to extract them from production wells, are explored. For this purpose, the concentration of water and oil in the total amount of produced fluid is determined depending on the flow rate of the well, and the function of the dependence of the concentration on the flow rate for selected wells is formulated. The problem of optimizing the well flow rate and methods for solving them are *** issue of technical and computer software for the optimization problem is considered. A block diagram of the system for rational control and management of oil production processes in the late stage of operation is presented, which allows the implementation of the created technologies, algorithms and software for pumping water into the reservoir through pumping stations for injection and production from wells using deep-well pumps. oil production by achieving an increase in the oil/water ratio when extracting oil using mechanized methods.

Vibration analysis serves as a valuable method to identify defects within mechanical systems. This process involves monitoring the auditory signals generated by the system and discerning patterns that signify potential issues. Nevertheless, due to the intricate nature of motors, relying solely on one modality (such as acoustic signals) might prove inadequate for comprehensively detecting all faults. Our research introduces a novel approach to enhance fault detection in mechanical systems, specifically focusing on motors. A more comprehensive system health assessment is achieved by utilizing multi-modal vibration analysis, combining acoustic signals and heat signatures. Effective information fusion is facilitated by integrating attention-based transformers, capable of capturing cross-modal correlations. The proposed neural network employs classification and regression loss functions for fault identification and severity assessment respectively. Evaluation on a motor fault dataset demonstrates significant classification accuracy improvements compared to conventional deep and machine learning methods. Incorporating a signal-to-image transformation further aids in fault pattern recognition. This method offers a promising avenue for accurate and comprehensive fault diagnosis in mechanical systems, showcasing the potential of multi-modal analysis and attention mechanisms for industrial equipment maintenance.

This paper extends the previously published parameter estimation-based approach to interturn short circuit diagnostics in permanent magnet synchronous motors by real-time monitoring of hidden machine states after fault occurrence. The designed monitoring method relies on an adaptive formulation of the Kalman filter, which assumes interdependence between measurement and process noise variables. A variable forgetting factor not only mitigates the impact of the process model uncertainty but also facilitates the simultaneous operation of the monitoring algorithm and fault indicator estimation. Furthermore, contributions of fault current and healthy machine model to stationary reference frame currents are estimated from an advanced discrete-time motor description reflecting a stator winding arrangement inside a motor’s case. The monitoring algorithm is validated in steady state, torque load transient, and velocity transient laboratory experiments with diverse fault severity values.

The development of automation systems for the production facilities of the oil and gas sector comprises several paths, one of which is the introduction of automated monitoring systems that can perform technical diagnostics of the facility in real-time. In many cases, using these systems can improve the reliability of the facility's operations and, in some cases, it facilitates the transition to low-staffed operations. The efficiency of these systems depends on the reliability of the data transferred over measuring channels. This article presents a reliability-control algorithm based on the direct and reverse facility models. It can identify partial probe failures, i.e. the loss of metrological reliability, based on the invariance tests of some parameters, as well as the changes in the parameters of the facility considered. Model construction uses the statistics obtained in normal, pre-emergency, and emergency operating modes of a fuel pump station. Model verification confirmed its adequacy. Using the algorithms considered as additional measuring channel control tools is recommended for any facility.

The direct calculation of the absorption coefficient spectra of various tissues from spectral measurements allowed to retrieve the contents of melanin and lipofuscin. In the rabbit brain cortex, 1.8 times higher melanin content is explained by the neuron degeneration process. Similar melanin and lipofuscin contents were found in the rabbit pancreas as a result of the tissue aging process. The conversion of 83 % of the melanin in the human normal kidney into lipofuscin in the cancer kidney indicates that lipofuscin can be considered a kidney cancer marker in humans. © 2022 IEEE.

A reflectometric system will be installed in the RFX-mod2 experiment, consisting of 4 couples of transmitting/receiving antennas working in the range 16-26.5 GHz in X-mode wave propagation for tokamak discharges. They will be placed within dedicated plasma accesses in the same poloidal section at 4 equispaced poloidal positions, two on the equatorial plane, High Field Side (HFS)/Low Field Side (LFS), and two at the vertical top/bottom ports. This configuration was conceived to perform plasma position control experiments without using the magnetic measurement signals. While the accesses in LFS, top and bottom positions will accommodate pyramidal antennas, the strict room constraints in the HFS position required a special routing of the feeding waveguide and the design of a different type of antenna, described in the paper. The horn reflector (also named hoghorn) type was preferred which allows radiating (and receiving) a beam at a 90 degrees direction with respect to the horn axis, which will be perpendicular to the equatorial plane. After fixing a reference working frequency f = 21 GHz (wavelength lambda = 14.3 mm), an antenna fitting the available room was designed by means of the COMSOL Multiphysics Radio Frequency module. Four different versions were developed by introducing some modifications of the aperture shape to study their effect on the antenna performance. FEM analyses were run for frequencies in the 17-26 GHz interval to characterize the frequency response in terms of radiative patterns of the total and far electric field. The directivity of the antennae was also evaluated. The 4 versions exhibited comparable responses and the observed beam directional properties at the expected plasma distance were considered acceptable for the development of this application. A prototype of the antenna has been realized by additive manufacturing process.

In the present paper, an application of recursive parameter identification algorithms to the problem of diagnosing the technological process progress of a nuclear power reactor as a constituent part of the decision support system of nuclear power plant operative personnel. The diagnostics technique applied in the present paper is based on utilizing current estimates of parameters involved in the reactor point kinetic model and characterizing the magnitude of the reactivity being one of the most important dynamic nuclear power reactor characteristics. For the estimation procedure, a recursive parameter identification algorithm is proposed, which does not involve the identification criterion Hessian inversion and preserves the performance stability under closeness of the Hessian to the degeneracy. © 2021 IEEE.

Clinical guidelines represent the latest standard of medical knowledge concerning diagnostics, treatment and follow up of diseases and should support doctors and patients to choose the best treatment. Depending on the prevalence of a disease there exist less or more published data. Therefore, several levels of guidelines are possible. In case of few data the expertise of the attending physicians is of greater importance (S1, S2-guidelines). In case of a huge amount of literature, especially phase III studies or metaanalyses, a S3-guideline can be written. The article describes the process of developing a guideline in Germany under the guidance of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF) in comparison to the process by the European Association of Urology (EAU). The aim for the future is to join resources. Another aspect of the article is to inform about different procedures how to control the implementation of the guidelines.

Commercial accounting is carried out at all stages of delivery of the produced and prepared oil to the final consumer. The most common are dynamic methods, direct (mass) and indirect (volume-mass). As a rule, accounting is carried out by systems for measuring the quantity and quality of oil (SIQO). In the process of accounting, the work of SIQO is influenced by a large number of external factors that cause the appearance of additional errors. When accounting for crude oil, wax deposition on the inner surfaces of meter lines and flow meters becomes significant. The influence of this factor in practice is not taken into account due to the immeasurability of the thickness of the paraffin layer. The article discusses the effect of paraffin on the metrological reliability of an ultrasonic flow meter. It is proposed to automatically estimate the current value of the thickness of the paraffin layer by the model and determine the value of the additional error. This allows, when approaching the limits of metrological reliability, to timely carry out maintenance of the flow meter and extraordinary control of its metrological characteristics and, in general, to increase the accuracy of accounting.

Current machine learning techniques for dementia diagnosis often do not take into account real-world practical constraints, which may include, for example, the cost of diagnostic assessment time and financial budgets. In this work, we built on previous cost-sensitive feature selection approaches by generalising to multiple cost types, while taking into consideration that stakeholders attempting to optimise the dementia care pathway might face multiple non-fungible budget constraints. Our new optimisation algorithm involved the searching of cost-weighting hyperparameters while constrained by total budgets. We then provided a proof of concept using both assessment time cost and financial budget cost. We showed that budget constraints could control the feature selection process in an intuitive and practical manner, while adjusting the hyperparameter increased the range of solutions selected by feature selection. We further showed that our budget-constrained cost optimisation framework could be implemented in a user-friendly graphical user interface sandbox tool to encourage non-technical users and stakeholders to adopt and to further explore and audit the model - a humans-in-the-loop approach. Overall, we suggest that setting budget constraints initially and then fine tuning the cost-weighting hyperparameters can be an effective way to perform feature selection where multiple cost constraints exist, which will in turn lead to more realistic optimising and redesigning of dementia diagnostic assessments.
