The article deals with a systematic approach to the design of software and logic control systems and the use of formal methods for the synthesis of processcontrol algorithms and functional diagnostics algorithms, which makes it possible to create logical control devices for cyclic processes with lower costs for the design, debugging and operation of equipment. The addition of control algorithms to diagnostic algorithms allows you to quickly determine the cause and location of the fault, reduce downtime of technological equipment and thereby increase its productivity. The possibilities of different programming languages of logic controllers in the implementation of tasks of functional diagnostics and control of command execution are compared. The differences and advantages of the methodology of joint synthesis of the initial control algorithms and diagnostic control of discrete automata in comparison with the traditional approach in the separate synthesis of control algorithms and diagnostic control of the execution of operations by actuators are considered.

The article describes the development of a universal power supply and an in-situ impedance spectroscopy unit for plasma electrolysis research. Schematic solutions are based on the analysis of current-voltage and frequency response characteristics of the plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) process. The power supply has a modular structure, remote PC control and high power factor. Its flexible internal structure allows studies of the plasma electrolysis in DC, bipolar and unipolar modes with broad variation in the pulse frequency, magnitude and duty cycles. The software part of the equipment allows the power supply control, registration of instantaneous values of current and voltage from the sensors, and necessary mathematical calculations. The in-situ impedance spectroscopy unit is operated in a step-sweep frequency mode, and it helps in diagnostics of the equivalent circuit of the PEO process. The calibration results of the power supply and the impedance spectroscopy unit show the recommended frequency range for equipment application from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The equipment was tested during PEO of titanium and zirconium alloys, and it showed the effectiveness of the proposed research methodology.

Step response-based identification is important topic related to modern processcontrol and diagnostics. Although there are several adequate identification methods available, namely graphical and computational techniques, still there is increasing requirement to develop methods for the diagnostics of electric drives. Particular importance can be found in industrial applications where step input might be the only option for excitation-based identification. In this paper, parameter estimation of a diesel engine dynamics is carried out by considering automatized time continuous method of moments approach. The applicability of the proposed moment-based parameter estimation method is validated with experimental step response tests obtained from a hybrid bus operated in diesel engine only mode.

The article describes the developed model of controlling the process of means of transport operation, in which the choice of control strategy is carried out using non-deterministic methods. The model presented in the paper allows one to evaluate the quality of the transport system operation from the point of view of selected evaluation criteria: the risk of occurrence of undesired events and the availability of means of transport. The article presents a description of the method for determining the optimal (quasi-optimal) strategy for controlling the process of the use of means of transport taking into account the semi-Markov decision-making processes. The selection of the optimal (quasi-optimal) solution is carried out using the genetic algorithm and the simulated annealing algorithm. As a result of numerical calculations, for the criterion functions used, a set of quasi-optimal solutions is obtained in the form of the so-called Pareto front. This applies to the selection of possible decision variants, such a strategy for controlling the operation process, for which the functions constituting the evaluation criteria achieve values belonging to the Pareto-optimal solutions set.

The research deals with the specific characteristics of swimmers' training management taking into account typologies of bioenergetics. For an effective and quick functional state and reserve capacities of athletes' organism diagnostics we held the test according to "D&K - TEST" express-diagnostics methodology created by Karlenko V.D. We created a block system of swimmers' sports training control. The block system includes the stages and the main components of management structure, where great attention is paid to information gathering concerning swimmers' functional training taking into account their typology of bioenergetics. We studied the ratio of swimmers' bioenergetics typology at the training stage according to the years of study. We estimated the level of functional state and swimmers' organism reserve capacities depending on their bioenergetics type. Specially selected training means and methods for swimmers were used in accordance with their typology of bioenergetics and it provided their physical readiness improvement, characterizing the effectiveness of competitive activity. We received the results of swimmers' functional state and reserve capacities of their organism, combined according to three types: aerobic, mixed and anaerobic.

Several methods, which have been suggested for tuning PI controller parameters by obtaining the centroid of the stability boundary locus, can be found in the literature. However, all those methods rely on graphical plottings which are time consuming. Here, a new analytical approach is introduced to find centroid of the stability region for PI controllers to control time delay integrating processes. For this purpose, it is assumed that time delay integrating process can be modelled by integrating plus first order plus dead-time (IFOPDT) model. The suggested method cancels the necessity of plotting the stability region. Simulation examples were performed to ensure the efficiency of the suggested method.

Digitalization should not be limited to a simple conversion of all technological parameters into digital form. This transformation should generate conceptually new tasks, the solution of which gives a significant economic effect. It is necessary to strive for the maximum (within reasonable limits) "revitalization" (telemechanization) of pieces of equipment, which should act as elements of the Internet of things. The principles of digitalization and integration with the Internet of Things for the tasks of managing power grids are formulated, it is shown that the selection of events and intelligent processing of information are necessary conditions for digitalization. An example of solving the problem of analyzing emergency situations is considered; a digitalized software system is able to quickly issue advice for dispatching and operating personnel. The method of complex diagnostics of SF6 electrical equipment is stated.
