Facing the requirements of management, operation and maintenance of key equipment in process industry with complex working conditions and a wide variety. Based on various monitoring technologies, edge intelligence and industrial Internet of things, designed the health management platform for equipment life cycle. The system can well reflect the condition of the monitored equipment, realize predictive maintenance to reduce the inspection and maintenance cost, avoid abnormal shutdown, and provide safety guarantee for the continuous production. The system can also integrate on-site process measurement and control, enterprise management and other business processes, realize cost reduction and efficiency increase and enterprise resource optimization, and promote intelligent manufacturing. © 2022 IEEE.

The current fault identification technique for the ultra high voltage direct current transmission system has a low success rate, the process of extracting feature qualities is complex, and it is difficult to identify high resistance grounding. This research provides a defect evaluation method for UHVDC transmission system using Deep Auto Encoder (DAE) and integrated learning. Firstly, the fault voltage signal is feature extracted using DAE, and then, a series of obtained features are feature screened by XGBoost algorithm and combined with an integrated classifier consisting of Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), K Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Random Forest (RF) classifiers to identify the UHVDC faults. Finally, ±800kV UHVDC transmission line models are established in MATLAB/Simulink simulation software to simulate different types of faults. The study's findings demonstrate that the fault diagnostic method introduced in this research may significantly enhance the poor detection success rate of current fault diagnostics methods and is more resilient to excessive resistance. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This article discusses the problems of developing rational technologies and remote control systems for the processes of water injection into the reservoir (pumping stations to maintain reservoir pressure) and oil production using mechanized methods (rod pumping units, electric centrifugal pumps, etc.) in the late stage of oil field operation, which is characterized by difficult oil *** main problems of the process of pumping water into the formation to maintain the pressure necessary to displace the oil-water mixture to production wells, and ways to extract them from production wells, are explored. For this purpose, the concentration of water and oil in the total amount of produced fluid is determined depending on the flow rate of the well, and the function of the dependence of the concentration on the flow rate for selected wells is formulated. The problem of optimizing the well flow rate and methods for solving them are *** issue of technical and computer software for the optimization problem is considered. A block diagram of the system for rational control and management of oil production processes in the late stage of operation is presented, which allows the implementation of the created technologies, algorithms and software for pumping water into the reservoir through pumping stations for injection and production from wells using deep-well pumps. oil production by achieving an increase in the oil/water ratio when extracting oil using mechanized methods. © 2024 IEEE.

This article discusses methods for free-form surface quality and the amplitude parameters of roughness, based on research and field experiments to control the condition of the tool. The methods of correlation analysis, comparison and generalization of the results were used. Data were calculated for different angles of inclination of the tool, taking into account the instantaneous cutting forces and recorded in a range of variable values of the angle of inclination of the surface. The vibroacoustic diagnostic and theoretical data of the presented models at various angles of inclination of the instrument were experimentally verified. As a result, these methods can be used to predict surface roughness parameters when using a ball-end mill. The optimal range of angles for the inclination of the surface treatment tool has been determined, at which minimum values of amplitude roughness are achieved. Empirically obtained, sound vibrations presented in spectral and waveform forms are in good agreement with data from other sources, allowing us to conclude that it is possible to predict roughness parameters and monitor the condition of the cutting edges in real time through acoustic methods. Amplitude parameters decrease with an increase in angle from 10 to 40 degrees. The interrelationships between force analysis and processing directions confirm the use of vibroacoustic diagnostics to predict surface roughness. Vibroacoustic diagnostics, regardless of the location of technological equipment, allows for quick setup of sound devices and evaluation of the effect of cutting modes on roughness parameters. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The development of digital twins (DT) for construction processes requires adequate replication of real-world spaces. Therefore, the use of Building/Civil-Construction Information Modeling (BIM/CIM) for the creation of a digital representation of the physical process and asset plays a vital role. The construction process considered for this research study is shotcrete application and surface finishing during the construction and finishing phases. The research presents the role of adaptive BIM/CIM models for the digital replication of automated shotcreting of civil infrastructure projects. For a digital twin, simulations, and visualizations are essential for the process monitoring and diagnostics alongside the control of the physical asset in real-time through real-world data synchronization. Hence this paper proposes adaptive modeling of civil infrastructures (physical assets) and their associated requirements to facilitate the simulations and visualizations during the digital twining of the related asset and process. The proposed approach takes into account the creation of adaptive BIM/CIM models at the initial stage such as modeling in parts instead of a single element to facilitate the purpose of the visualizations of the digital model in the later stages of the creation of DT. Additionally, the use of an IFC-based hierarchy is prioritized for the purpose of linking the 3D object elements to the corresponding sensor data and simulations. For applications that require precision with a resolution of few micrometers, determining the exact position of the workpiece relative to the processing laser beam in the XY-plane is a challenge that is currently solved only through time-consuming and complex to integrate, as well as expensive measurement systems. Here, we address the challenge of automatically determining the position and orientation of a workpiece in the ultrashort pulse laser machine with no movement of the workpiece and no impairment of the processing optic. Our approach involves the evaluation of spatially resolved secondary process emissions while the laser passes over the surface - either during the processing or in a separate measurement step with fluence below the ablation threshold. The measurement does not affect the duration of the processing, as it happens in parallel to it. Here, we thoroughly examine the secondary emission-based position detection of a Philips Metamorpha project workpiece. We divide the process in two steps: a coarse and a fine position detection and achieve a precision of up to 2.4 mu m. Moreover, we develop an automation algorithm and implemented it in the FPGA of our edge-device, which enables the analysis of the data while it is being collected with a temporal resolution of 10 mu s.

The current standards for controlling pollutant emissions require that diesel engine vehicles be equipped with increasingly complex and efficient exhaust gas after treatment systems. One of these systems is the so-called Diesel Particle Filter (DPF) for retaining combustion polluting particles. To prolong the life of this system, which is normally quite expensive, there are precautions that must be taken by the driver and the most important consists of not interrupting the regeneration cycles, during which the retained particles are turned into ashes so as not to clog the filter. This paper presents a system that uses a proprietary algorithm which adapts to the available information that the vehicles provide through On-Board diagnostics (OBD) and when no specific information about the DPF is available, uses fuzzy logic to process other data to detect the need of a regeneration and advise the driver about the correct procedures to extend the useful life of the DPF. The system outputs to an integrated display if a regeneration is being performed, the DPF state of health and a prediction of when the next regeneration will happen. Amongst extensive tests, two were selected to be discussed where a regeneration was detected and cancelled and another test where a faulty DPF was used.

Photonic production chains represent a transformative approach to manufacturing, leveraging the unique properties lasers for material processing. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into these processes further enhances efficiency and adaptability, paving the way for more intricate designs and optimized production outcomes. This became even clearer in the context of battery and e-mobility applications. AI-driven methods in photonic production chains enable real-time monitoring, adaptive control, and predictive maintenance of laser systems. By analyzing vast amounts of data from the manufacturing process, AI can dynamically adjust laser parameters such as power, pulse duration, and beam shape, ensuring optimal performance and reducing material waste. Machine learning algorithms also facilitate defect detection and quality assurance, making the process more reliable and less dependent on manual intervention. Shaped light, a technique involving the manipulation of laser beam profiles, plays a critical role in enhancing the precision and versatility of laser material processing. By customizing the intensity distribution of the laser beam, shaped light allows for more controlled energy deposition, enabling the processing of a wide range of materials with varying properties. This capability is particularly useful in applications such as micro-machining, additive manufacturing, and surface texturing, where precision is paramount. The combination of AI methods and shaped light in photonic production chains leads to a highly adaptable and intelligent manufacturing system. This integration not only improves the accuracy and speed of production but also opens new possibilities for creating advanced materials and components.

The problem of quality control is of one the most relevant issues in food industry, because it impacts both consumers safety and manufacturers reliability. While current technologies have reduced this issue, accidents still occur, especially due to the difficulty of detecting low-density contaminants. To cope with this problem, electromagnetic sensing techniques can provide a viable solution, thanks to the non-negligible electric contrast existing when low-density materials are immersed in food items. In this respect, the authors of this contribution have proposed the synergic use of terahertz and microwaves frequencies, in order to both exploit the high spatial resolution of THz images and the capability of inspecting items in-depth using microwaves. In this paper, the ongoing work concerned with THz time-continuous monitoring, experimental demonstration of a low-complexity microwave imaging algorithm, as well as with the use of machine-learning techniques to process microwave data will be described.

the DC/AC interaction and the presence of the high nonlinearity in the HVDC links, these problems needs to examine the behavior of the system in steady-state and transient conditions in order to define the great role of protection functions and control parameters. Furthermore, control and protection systems are a vital part of an HVDC system to guarantee the safety, reliability, and stability of its operation. This research aim is to provide the solutions for control and protection problems that can occur in HVDC link. In this paper, we study how we mitigate this serious malfunction of commutation failure process in the operation of HVDC converters. Indeed some protection functions like the commutation failure prevention. Furthermore, HVDC transmission systems are vulnerable to DC faults and its protection becomes ever more important with the fast growth in the number of installations. Finally, the dynamics of the studied power system including the HVDC link is thoroughly investigated through various simulation scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.
