Vehicle detection is an area of active development aimed at enhancing driving safety and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations. Despite ongoing efforts, accidents and traffic violations continue to pose significant challenges, leading to disruptions in driving. In response to these issues, the author aims to develop a more efficient traffic management system to improve driver organization and driving behavior. To achieve this, the author proposes using YOLO-LIO as the neural network of choice for the Traffic System. The effectiveness of YOLO-LIO was evaluated using three datasets: the Montevideo Audio and Video Dataset (MAVD), the GARM Road-Traffic Monitoring dataset (GRAM-RTM), and a custom dataset created by the author. The results highlight the superior performance of YOLO-LIO in vehicle detection tasks, achieving accuracy rates of 99.02% on the MAVD dataset, 99.55% on the GRAM-RTM dataset, and 99.32% on the custom dataset. This demonstrates the model's high effectiveness across various datasets. Additionally, the author conducted experiments incorporating OCR technology with the YOLO-LIO algorithm in the Traffic System. The system achieved an accuracy of 80.21% in vehicle number detection, demonstrating its effectiveness. This result reflects the overall performance of the entire system process, from data input to the final detection output, ensuring a comprehensive and accurate detection mechanism. Compared to other algorithms such as YOLOv3 + OCR, YOLOv4, and Faster R-CNN, YOLO-LIO + OCR, they have exhibited significantly better performance. These promising results highlight the potential of YOLO-LIO in creating a robust Traffic System that can significantly enhance road safety and traffic regulation compliance.

A novel reconfigurable antenna with integrated radiation and scattering performance is shown in this article. The antenna consists of a low-band antenna and four cross-polarized high-band antennas. Reconfigurable bandwidth is achieved by embedding PIN diode(s). Through dynamically switch the state of PIN diode, the bandwidth can cover 0.4 similar to 2.00GHz. Compared to metal ground of the same size, the proposed antenna achieves RCS reduction in both TE and TM plane wave, and keeps radiation pattern. The proposed antenna could be a suitable candidate for low RCS weapons and equipment.

With the gradual development of autonomous driving technology, the cost of traditional road test is becoming higher and higher. The mainstream approach of autonomous driving test has been transferred to the accurate and efficient simulation test system based on typical environment. Millimeter wave (mmWave) radar is an important part of autonomous driving and integrated sensor system. This means that the foundation of the future autonomous driving environment simulation system needs the real mmWave vehicular radar signal propagation mechanism. Therefore, the research of radio wave propagation characteristics in vehicular mmWave radar frequency band is the basis of mmWave radar simulation. In this paper, the vehicular mmWave radar signal in the expressway environment is measured, and ray-tracing (RT) simulation is conducted according to the measurement configuration. The electromagnetic (EM) parameters is calibrated through the radar Cross section (RCS). The signal propagation characteristics are researched, and a hybrid channel model is established with RT, which effectively increases the simulation efficiency and serves for future autonomous vehicle driving test.

The simultaneous use of multiple small and low-cost radars has recently become feasible due to their increasing availability and functionality. Concerning the data fusion, computing the extrinsic parameters (rotation and translation) is a well known problem. However, the calibration of the sensor system is particularly challenging when dealing with devices having low number of antennas and therefore limited angular resolution, and there is currently no standard procedure for a setup consisting exclusively of such radars. This setup is though beneficial for collaborative and safety-oriented applications in robotics;therefore, we present an extrinsic calibration method for a multi-radar system deployed in a robotic cell. The calibration procedure only requires to move a single radar-signal reflector within the perceived area, without the need for additional sensing technology. The method is based on data sequential collection and pre-processing, combined with the closed-form registration of 3D point clouds. Furthermore, we include uncertainty information with the use of a custom MATLAB Toolbox1. Two different data collection procedures, inspired by a state of the art Motion Capture system, are presented and evaluated.

The possibility of exploiting the natural motion of the vehicle for synthesizing antenna arrays makes the automotive scenario an interesting application for Synthetic Aperture radar (SAR) technology. The latter enhances the imaging resolution without increasing the hardware cost. A fundamental requirement of SAR imaging is the knowledge of position and velocity of the the radar platform along the synthetic aperture, with an accuracy that shall be in the order of the wavelength. Navigation techniques fusing data from heterogeneous onboard sensors provide a good positioning solution, to be possibly refined with radar data. This paper addresses the question of whether there exist a minimum set of navigation sensors that guarantees sufficiently accurate SAR imaging in realistic urban scenarios, to minimize the hardware cost. We develop a multi-sensor navigation algorithm, considering different sets of sensors, and we discuss the impact of each one on navigation accuracy. The latter is validated against experimental data using Real Time Kinematics (RTK) positioning measurements as ground truth and SAR imaging results.
