Monitoring systems at power transmission and transformation construction sites often face challenges from complex environments such as haze, low lighting, and strong winds, leading to degraded video quality and stability. To enhance the reliability of these monitoring systems, this study employs three algorithms: image dehazing, low-light enhancement, and wind-induced blur removal. These algorithms are integrated through adaptive weight adjustment and parallel processing. This integration strategy enables the monitoring system to select the optimal algorithm in real-time based on environmental conditions and maintain stable image quality under multiple adverse factors. Experimental results show that the image dehazing algorithm improves PSNR to 28.37 dB in hazy environments, the low-light enhancement algorithm achieves a PSNR of 25.34 dB at night, and the wind-induced blur removal algorithm maintains an SSIM of 0.903 at a wind speed of 4 m/s. Transmission tests in weak signal areas indicate that a compression ratio of 30: 1 to 40: 1 can effectively balance video quality and bandwidth requirements. The monitoring system that integrates multiple algorithms demonstrates good adaptability and robustness in complex environments, providing reliable technical support for safety monitoring at power transmission and transformation construction sites. © 2025 SPIE.

Remote exams and job interviews have gained popularity due to pandemics and the advantage of remote working conditions. Most companies and institutions use online platforms for recruitment and examination. However, one of the critical problems of remote exam systems is that the exams cannot be held in a reliable environment. In this work, we present a cheating detection system for online exams. This system provides real-time detection of suspicious events such as another person, electronic device usage, candidate absent status by accessing the microphone and camera stream of the candidate's device through the browser. The cheating detection system can detect other people than candidates, electronic device usage, voice activity, and candidate absence status using state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms. When a suspicious event is detected, its moments are recorded as a video. The advantages of the real time cheating detection pipeline are as follows: 1) The system provides real time suspicious activity detection and produce instant alarm for proctors, 2) the system does not require an external program installation, 3) the number of user the system will serve at the same time has become scalable since it is run through the browser.

The quality of image and videos plays a vital role in case of real-time systems. images are captured without sufficient illumination, lead to low dynamic range and high propensity for generating high noise levels. The processing ideas and networks of several mainstream low-light image enhancement neural network algorithms such as DRBN, DSLR, ZeroDCE, EnlightenGAN, as well as the key technologies used are compared and analyzed. In this paper, the EnglightenGAN neural network is used as the core image enhancement algorithm, and NVIDIA AGX Xavier equipment and video stream processing technology are used to achieve the entire process of video acquisition, video frame encoding, image enhancement processing, frame decoding, and video stream display. It can adapt to most low-light and dark scenes which has a good enhancement effect on video streams collected in low-light scenes. The real-time performance and image enhancement effect of the system achieved good results, with FPS reaching 10, SSIM reaching 0.51753, and PSNR reaching 27.89973.

In lobster farming, monitoring of lobsters is essential and must be performed. Aruna, one of the lobster trading startups in Indonesia, is still using manual monitoring by sending divers underwater to observe the progress of the lobsters. This way is considered less effective because it is done intermittently, only at certain times and in good weather conditions. In this study, we propose to investigate object detection for underwater surveillance cameras as a means of real-time monitoring and counting of lobsters. Underwater video data is fed into the proposed system based on a deep learning-based model. This system consists of three processes: image enhancement with WaterNet as noise reduction, object counting with the YOLOv6/7/8 model, and object tracking using StrongSORT. For details, we annotated the lobster data by head only and full body. Our test results show that YOLOv7, with head annotation, has stable mean Average Precision (mAP), making it suitable for the proposed system. Then, we implemented a combination of WaterNet, YOLOv7 and StrongSORT to the proposed system architecture for the Intelligent surveillance camera.

In this paper, we present a successful implementation of a local maxima filter on a Zybo Z7-20 and PYNQ Z1 FPGA using their two HDMI ports in real-time. The proposed system uses the HDMI ports to capture video frames with a resolution of 640x480 pixels. The local maxima filter is then applied to the captured frames in real-time, allowing for the detection of peaks in the image data. The filter uses a sliding window approach to determine the local maxima, and a threshold value is set to identify and retain only the most significant peaks in the image. The system was implemented using SystemVerilog Hardware Description Language (HDL). The system was developed in the Xilinx Vivado design suite and the results show that the proposed system is able to process video frames at a rate of 60 frames per second with high accuracy and low latency. The proposed implementation using SystemVerilog presents a more efficient and flexible solution for image processing applications on FPGA, making it a promising approach for real-time image processing.

Face recognition technology is cutting-edge and in great demand in the industry, due to the widespread use of big data and the increasing value of face recognition technology. The main purpose of this article is to develop a video processing-based, facial recognition-based student detail collection system. The four significant factors in this article are the accuracy rate of the face recognition during verification, the stability of the face recognition system in real-time video processing, and the dependability of the face recognition system with real-time video processing. The investigation of the scenario leads to the idea of a detailed collection system using facial recognition technology. There are three buttons.
