The increasing interest in image fusion (combining images of two or more modalities such as infrared and visible light radiation) has led to a need for accurate and reliable image assessment methods. This paper gives a novel approach of merging the information content from several videos taken from the same scene in order to rack up a combined video that contains the finest information coming from different source videos. This process is known as video fusion which helps in providing superior quality (The term quality, connote measurement on the particular application.) image than the source images. In this technique different sensors (whose redundant information can be reduced) are used for various cameras that are imperative for capturing the required images and also help in reducing. In this paper Image fusion technique based on multi-resolution singular value decomposition (MSVD) has been used. The image fusion by MSVD is almost similar to that of wavelets. The idea behind MSVD is to replace the FIR filters in wavelet transform with singular value decomposition (SVD). It is computationally very simple and is well suited for real time applications like in remote sensing and in astronomy.

The capability to track individuals in CCTV cameras is important for e.g. surveillance applications at large areas such as train stations, airports and shopping centers. However, it is laborious to track and trace people over multiple cameras. In this paper, we present a system for real-time tracking and fast interactive retrieval of persons in video streams from multiple static surveillance cameras. This system is demonstrated in a shopping mall, where the cameras are positioned without overlapping fields-of-view and have different lighting conditions. The results show that the system allows an operator to find the origin or destination of a person more efficiently. The misses are reduced with 37%, which is a significant improvement.

The capabilities of tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) payloads are expanding from single sensor imagers to integrated systems-of-systems architectures. Increasingly, these systems-of-systems include multiple sensing modalities that can act as force multipliers for the intelligence analyst. Currently, the separate sensing modalities operate largely independent of one another, providing a selection of operating modes but not an integrated intelligence product. We describe here a sensor Management System (SMS) designed to provide a small, compact processing unit capable of managing multiple collaborative sensor systems on-board an aircraft. Its purpose is to increase sensor cooperation and collaboration to achieve intelligent data collection and exploitation. The SMS architecture is designed to be largely sensor and data agnostic and provide flexible networked access for both data providers and data consumers. It supports pre-planned and ad-hoc missions, with provisions for on-demand tasking and updates from users connected via data links. Management of sensors and user agents takes place over standard network protocols such that any number and combination of sensors and user agents, either on the local network or connected via data link, can register with the SMS at any time during the mission. The SMS provides control over sensor data collection to handle logging and routing of data products to subscribing user agents. It also supports the addition of algorithmic data processing agents for feature/target extraction and provides for subsequent cueing from one sensor to another. The SMS architecture was designed to scale from a small UAV carrying a limited number of payloads to an aircraft carrying a large number of payloads. The SMS system is STANAG 4575 compliant as a removable memory module (RMM) and can act as a vehicle specific module (VSM) to provide STANAG 4586 compliance (level-3 interoperability) to a non-compliant sensor system. Accurate and timely space object tracking is important for space surveillance missions. Among various sensors such as ground-based radars, a space-based visible (SBV) sensor has been considered as an important sensing technology to achieve the stringent goals of space surveillance due to its high-accuracy angle measurements, faster observation rates, and large sensing coverage. To achieve certain tracking accuracy requirements, multiple sensors and cooperative tracking algorithms are often used. However, communication loss is often ignored although it commonly exists in communications of different sensor applications. In this paper, a space object tracking separated extended information filter (SEIF) algorithm uses multiple space-based visible (SBV) sensors to track targets. The algorithm is evaluated through implementation in a space object tracking scenario supported by the NASA General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT). The root mean square error is used to compare the performance of the proposed algorithm and classical algorithms, such as the EIF. The simulation results indicate that the performance of the SEIF is better than that of the EIF when there is a communications loss between different sensors.

Tactical platforms benefit greatly from the fusion of tracks from multiple sources in terms of increased situation awareness. As a necessary precursor to this track fusion, track-to-track association, or correlation, must first be performed. The related measurement-to-track fusion problem has been well studied with multiple hypothesis tracking and multiple frame assignment methods showing the most success. The track-to-track problem differs from this one in that measurements themselves are not available but rather track state update reports from the measuring sensors. Multiple hypothesis, multiple frame correlation systems have previously been considered;however, their practical implementation under the constraints imposed by tactical platforms is daunting. The situation is further exacerbated by the inconvenient nature of reports from legacy sensor systems on bandwidth-limited communications networks. In this paper, consideration is given to the special difficulties encountered when attempting the correlation of tracks from legacy sensors on tactical aircraft. Those difficulties include the following: covariance information from reporting sensors is frequently absent or incomplete;system latencies can create temporal uncertainty in data;and computational processing is severely limited by hardware and architecture. Moreover, consideration is given to practical solutions for dealing with these problems in a multiple hypothesis correlator.

This paper presents the design process of a gesture control system based on the Microsoft Kinect sensor. An environment enabling implementation of the integrated system, using a variety of equipment and software was selected and prepared. A method for integrating the sensor with the Arduino environment has also been discussed. algorithms for remote gesture control of the given servodrive angle and the position of the robot arm gripper were prepared. The results of several experiments, which were carried out in order to determine the optimal method for starting, controlling, and stopping the drive and for assessment of the accuracy of the proposed method for the arm control, are presented.

fusion of information from different sensor systems is vital for automotive safety systems. In a typical automotive sensor fusion setup the fusion can be a measurement fusion or a track level fusion in a centralized fusion center. Track level fusion is desired due to communication, computation and organizational constraints. Track level fusion algorithms have to deal with different correlation issues among the sensor systems and the fusion center that maintains the global track. This correlation problem leads to a degraded fusion estimate which is not desirable in a safety and time critical application. This paper presents an overview of track level fusion algorithms to fuse two homogenous sensor systems and evaluates their performance.

Multi-sensor Data fusion (MSDF) is very rapidly growing as an independent discipline to be considered with and finds applications in many areas. Surplus and complementary sensor data can be fused using multi-sensor fusion techniques to enhance system competence and consistency. The objective of this work is to evaluate multi sensor data fusion algorithms for target tracking. Target tracking using observations from several sensors can achieve improved estimation performance than a single sensor. In this work, three data fusion algorithms based on Kalman filter namely State Vector fusion (SVF), Measurement fusion (MF) and Gain fusion (GF) are implemented in a tracking system. Using MATLAB, these three methods are compared and performance metrics are computed for the evaluation of algorithms. The results show that State Vector fusion estimates the states well when compared to Measurement fusion and Gain fusion.

This paper illustrates the use of smart device sensors in various real time applications. Two types of sensor data processing architectures have been discussed. The on-device data processing architecture allows processing of the sensor data locally on the smart device itself and taking a desirable action. The on-server processing architecture requires the device to send the sensor data to a remote server for further computation and action. The pros and cons of these two types of architectures are pointed out. We have designed and implemented realistic Android applications using the smart device sensors and have categorized them broadly into these two architectures. The algorithms of the applications are described in detail along with the results. The paper also demonstrates an application of the atmospheric sensor, currently in research stages, in a virtually simulated device. Android platform is chosen to develop these applications since it is widely used and open source operating system.

This paper presents a solution for information integration and sharing architecture, which is able to receive data simultaneously from multiple different sensor networks. Creating a Common Operational Picture (COP) object along with the base map of the building plays a key role in the research. The object is combined with desired map sources and then shared to the mobile devices worn by soldiers in the field. The sensor networks we used focus on location techniques indoors, and a simple set of symbols is created to present the information, as an addition to NATO APP6B symbols. A core element in this research is the MUSAS (Mobile Urban Situational Awareness System), a demonstration environment that implements central functionalities. Information integration of the system is handled by the Internet Connection Engine (Ice) middleware, as well as the server, which hosts COP information and maps. The entire system is closed, such that it does not need any external service, and the information transfer with the mobile devices is organized by a tactical 5 GHz WLAN solution. The demonstration environment is implemented using only commercial off-theshelf (COTS) products. We have presented a field experiment event in which the system was able to integrate and share real time information of a blue force tracking system, received signal strength indicator (RSSI) based intrusion detection system, and a robot using simultaneous location and mapping technology (SLAM), where all the inputs were based on real activities. The event was held in a training area on urban area warfare.
