Indoor acoustic source localization can be efficiently performed by modeling the sound propagation in the room, and by solving the arising inverse problem by means of cosparse regularization and convex optimization techniques. However, previous methods relying on this approach used to assume the knowledge of a number of room characteristics: its geometry, the walls' absorption or reflexion properties, as well as the speed of sound. In this paper, we show that this model, and the corresponding algorithms, can be extended to the case where the specific acoustic impedance of the boundary is unknown. The proposed method allows to jointly estimate the boundary impedances and the sound pressure in the room, without any preliminary calibration phase, from the only knowledge of the room geometry. Validated on simulation, this new algorithm constitutes a important step towards practical applicability of sound field cosparse modeling.

In this paper, both software model visualization with path simulation and associated machining product are produced based on the step ring based 3-axis path planning to demo model-driven graphics processing unit (GPU) feature in tool path planning and 3D image model classification by GPU simulation. Subtractive 3D printing (i.e., 3D machining) is represented as integration between 3D printing modeling and CNC machining via GPU simulated software. Path planning is applied through material surface removal visualization in high resolution and 3D path simulation via ring selective path planning based on accessibility of path through pattern selection. First, the step ring selects critical features to reconstruct computer aided design (CAD) design model as STL (stereolithography) voxel, and then local optimization is attained within interested ring area for time and energy saving of GPU volume generation as compared to global all automatic path planning with longer latency. The reconstructed CAD model comes from an original sample (GATech buzz) with 2D image information. CAD model for optimization and validation is adopted to sustain manufacturing reproduction based on system simulation feedback. To avoid collision with the produced path from retraction path, we pick adaptive ring path generation and prediction in each planning iteration, which may also minimise material removal. Moreover, we did partition analysis and g-code optimization for large scale model and high density volume data. Image classification and grid analysis based on adaptive 3D tree depth are proposed for multi-level set partition of the model to define no cutting zones. After that, accessibility map is computed based on accessibility space for rotational angular space of path orientation to compare step ring based pass planning verses global all path planning. Real-Time monitoring of downhole temperature and pressure in injection and production wells equipped with permanent downhole gauges as well as distributed temperature and acoustic sensors plays an important role in production optimization, improved hydrocarbon recovery and daily well operations management decisions. To fully take advantage of the real-Time data, there is currently a pervasive need in intelligent oilfield application areas for near real-Time, high-fidelity, dynamic data-driven inversion methodologies combined with fast forward flow models comprising partial differential equations. Such methods facilitate dynamic data-driven interpretation of temperature and pressure measurements that can be used to provide continuous downhole production performance characteristics and forecasting, and are key to optimizing and controlling intelligent well production systems under closed-loop conditions. However, a central challenge is the construction of robust computational algorithms for near real-Time solutions of the underlying datadriven inverse problem which is often more challenging to obtain than the corresponding forward simulation model. This paper presents the development and testing of a robust computational algorithm for the estimation of multi-layer reservoir flow in addition to static and dynamic formation properties. In this work, a new modeling framework which incorporates a forward simulation engine and an inverse model is developed. The forward simulation engine employs a fast and accurate mathematical model to predict flow and formation properties profiles in advanced completion wells. It also introduces specific measurement response functions for numerical simulation of permanent downhole gauge data in the advanced wells. The inversion model employs a modified Levenberg-Marquard algorithm and is used to interpret field-measured downhole pressure and temperature data to estimate permeabilities, transient reservoir pressure and temperature response

The strong market trend toward lower fuel consumption for heavy road transports requires more frequent gear shifting and increased gear shift performance, i.e. shorter shift time. Increased shift performance means higher loads for the synchronizer which brings component and shifting process optimization more into focus. Traditionally, synchronizer development has relied on physical testing of complete synchronizers in general gearbox test rigs or in specialized synchronization test rigs leaving much of the causes of the observed effects unclear. This paper presents a generalized FE-based thermomechanical simulation model to be used for model-based synchronizer analysis and design. The model is targeted for studies of how different external loads and the values of different synchronizer design parameters affect the temperature transient in the friction lining. Recommendations of how major modeling complications should be treated are presented. The developed simulation model is verified and validated with a combination of analytical means and transient temperature measurements of bulk and surface temperatures. The applicability of the presented model, as well as its limitations, are discussed and exemplified with different design cases.

Based on the coaxial HPGHP system experiments, the mathematical model of the various components of the coaxial HPGHP system is established to research the matching relations between the drive system and the load demand of the compressor. This paper establishes the thermal efficiency of the engine model based on load rate, to maintain the thermal efficiency always be above 0.25, combined with the thermal efficiency map of the engine, the best economic zone of engine operation is determined. Finally, Torque optimization model of the coaxial HPGHP system was proposed, the transmission ratio of the HPGHP system was optimized and mode control strategy of the coaxial HPGHP system was determined. simulation results show the thermal efficiency of the HPGHP system can be always been guaranteed above 0.25 and the transmission ratios are respectively 2.9, 1.8 and 1.4 in three different load demand range. Medical robots are frequently used in minimally invasive surgery of the human body. A significant role to reach the position near the back wall of operating or artificial organs, play here the flexible or multibody effectors. This paper proposes a method of dynamics simulation of the effector serial chain with an electric drives in the form of DC motors and PID controllers in the Simulink. The effector consists of four rigid bodies with six degrees of freedom in RRRS configuration. Every joint of the effector is driven by the mathematical model of the DC motor. The PID controllers are applied to steer the movements of joints in velocity feedback loops and their parameters are identified by using the descent gradient optimization algorithm. A created model of dynamics will serve to instill algorithm running the effector on trajectory using the method of potential fields inside the tunnel, which will be obtained by using the medical imaging. The model in Simulink allows to connect the model of dynamics, which was built by using the block diagram and SimMechanics with code lines stored in the C language, where there is kept the created path planning algorithm.

Intel® CoFluent™ Studio is a visual model-driven development (MDD) solution for creating executable specifications of complex systems. It can be used at any point of the project lifecycle for modeling and validating any electronic or information systems in any application domain: hardware block, software stack, System-on-Chip (SoC), mixed hardware/software embedded system, networked/distributed system, end-to-end Internet-of-Things (IoT) infrastructure and Big Data networks. Intel CoFluent Studio can predict performance data from the application and use cases model execution on a multicore/multiprocessor platform model. Intel CoFluent Studio is a system modeling and simulation toolset based on Eclipse. Models are captured in graphical diagrams using Intel CoFluent optimized domain-specific language (DSL) or standard UML notations—a combination of SysML and the MARTE profile. ANSI C or C++ is used as action language to capture data types and algorithms. Non-functional system requirements or model calibration data such as execution durations, power, or memory values, are added through model attributes. Models are translated into transaction-level modeling (TLM) SystemC code for execution. The SystemC code is instrumented and generates traces that can be monitored with various analysis tools. Fast host-based simulations allow designers to observe the real-time execution of their application models on multiprocessor/multicore platform models. Performance figures such as latencies, throughputs, buffer levels, resource loads, power consumption, memory footprint, and cost can be extracted. We will present this system-level technologies and associated methodology with a poster. Introducing compliant actuation to robotic joints can obtain better disturbance rejection performance and higher power efficiency than conventional stiff actuated systems. In this paper, inspired by human joints, a novel compliant actuator applied to underactuated bipedal robot is proposed. After modeling the stiffness of the compliant actuator, this paper gives the configuration of the bipedal robot actuated by compliant actuators. Compared with the elastic structure of MABEL, the compliant element of our robot is simplified. Based on the dynamics of the compliant actuator-driven bipedal robot, a feedback linearization controller is presented to implement position control of the compliant actuator for power efficiency analysis and stiffness optimization. Co-simulations of MATLAB and ADAMS are performed under the defined control trajectory by altering actuator stiffness. The simulation results indicate that, compared with the actuator maintaining very high stiffness like a rigid actuator, the power efficiency of the compliant actuator is improved, and the stiffness optimized to 375 N.m/rad can reach the highest power efficiency.

We present a novel methodology to model inter-well connectivity in mature waterfloods and achieve an improved reservoir energy distribution and sweep pattern to maximize production performance by adjusting injection/production strategy on well control level. The method involves a reduced-physics based fast numerical tracer test on each well that yields inter-well connection strength or well allocation factors, and then a data-driven efficiency model on each inter-well connection calibrated automatically from the production/injection history of the reservoir. The latter one identifies the undesired connection suffered from water cycling or aquifer coning. A producer-injector/aquifer communication network is established which enables instantaneous forecast on reservoir response to various hypothetical well control strategies. An optimization algorithm is applied to improve the flux pattern by strengthening efficient connection and weakening inefficient connection. The objective of the optimization can be to maximize oil production or to minimize water cut. A set of physics constraints (lift limits, injection limits, liquid capacity, etc.) and economic constraints (e.g. oil target) can be enforced in the optimization process. The methodology is tested based on a full-scaled history-matched simulation model of a real carbonate field. The field is a large waterflood with 200+ wells and 5 years history, and the current water cut is above 30% and rapidly increasing. The full field simulation model was regarded as the true reservoir in this study. The network model was trained up to a time point, and then used to optimize the waterflooding strategy for six months. Reservoir response to the optimized strategy was simulated on the full field model, as well as the historical strategy and do-nothing strategy. The results demonstrated that the optimized strategy maintained oil production and reduced water production by 50% without adding new well, while the historical operation
