This paper investigates distributed strategy to improve the control efficiency for unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) in cooperative coexistence. We propose a distributed method of cooperative formation control and navigation with sensing information under motion constraints. Firstly, a distributed unmanned surface vehicle (USV) system model is developed using the dynamics model of the USVs. Local coordinates are employed to optimize the heading vector, enabling the USVs to navigate toward their destination while maintaining a specific formation. Subsequently, a control gain optimization model is formulated for the distributed USV system based on motion constraints. Lastly, the sensing information-based gain matrix design involves no-convex optimization, which is solved via a semidefinite relaxation (SDR) approach. Numerical results validate that the proposed approach significantly improves the control efficiency of the USV system and reduces communication overhead. © 2025 SPIE.

In order to improve the efficiency and safety of airport unmanned tower scheduling system, genetic algorithm is used to design and optimize the intelligent scheduling system, integrating advanced sensors and data processing technology to achieve efficient management of airport ground traffic. The results show that the system can effectively reduce the total scheduling time and conflict rate, improve the execution efficiency of scheduling strategies, and demonstrate excellent environmental adaptability and reliability. © 2025 SPIE.

Passive bearing-crossing localization technology has an important application in the scenario of UAV (unmanned Aerial Vehicle) target positioning, in which the removal of false intersection points in the process of multi-target location is a key issue. To address this problem, a bearing-crossing localization technology based on the signal characteristics of UAVs is proposed. Firstly, the algorithm analyzes the characteristic parameters of the image transmission signal of UAV. Then, according to the characteristic parameters, the correlation between the signal and the corresponding UAV target is established, and the multi-target bearing-crossing localization problem is transformed into multiple single-target location problems, so as to eliminate false intersection points. Finally, the pseudo-linear least squares method is used to complete the bearing-crossing localization of multiple UAV targets. Simulation results show that the algorithm has good positioning effects and reliability in the positioning of multiple UAV targets. © 2025 SPIE.

With the continuous progress of drone technology, the safety issues of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) avionics systems are increasingly becoming a focus. As a nonlinear coupled system, the avionics system has a high degree of integration and mutual influence between its components. Traditional fault analysis methods often analyze accident processes from the perspective of linear causal relationships, but this method is clearly not applicable in avionics systems. Therefore, this article proposes to use the System Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) method for safety analysis of avionics systems. By analyzing the working characteristics of embedded software, this article proposes the spatiotemporal control action between functions and extends the STPA method to the field of embedded software. Taking the cooling system as an example for safety analysis, software defects in the control process were discovered, proving the effectiveness of this method. © 2025 SPIE.

With the increase in maritime activities, traditional communication methods can no longer meet the needs of today’s maritime work, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) relay communications in marine scenarios has attracted more and more attention. In this paper, A long-distance three-node two-hop UAV relay system for maritime users is investigated. The UAV aerial relay node first transmits an energy-carrying radio frequency (RF) signal to the maritime user node, which then harvests energy and sends data information back to the UAV aerial relay node, which in turn forwards it to the land node. Considering the peculiarities of maritime communication channels, a novel land-air-maritime communication channel model is proposed. Utilizing Zero-Forcing/Zero-Transmission (ZFR/ZFT) technology, a precoding matrix for the aerial relay node is designed, followed by simulation and emulation, the performance of the channel is tested in the case of different transmission power of relay nodes or different number of antennas of relay nodes. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2025.

[Objective] As unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) inspection technology becomes increasingly prevalent in routine transmission line inspection tasks, this paper addresses the limitations of traditional UAV navigation systems, including low precision, significant adaptive inspection errors, and difficulties in identifying and tracking inspection targets. To address these issues, a vision-based autonomous precise landing and adaptive inspection system for UAVs is proposed. [Method] Firstly, a precise landing marker is designed utilizing vision navigation technology. An optimization model for UAV pose recognition is constructed based on the mapping relationship of coordinate systems, where feature point coordinates serve as the foundation for algorithm-based relative pose estimation between landing markers, thereby enhancing the precision of autonomous precise landing. Additionally, to improve the accuracy of adaptive inspection positioning and tracking for UAVs, an optimal threshold selection algorithm based on changing scenarios is proposed. This algorithm enables precise predictive and continuous parameter selection, further enhancing the accuracy of target localization and autonomous tracking during inspections. [Results] A robust adaptive federated Kalman filter tracking algorithm is employed for adaptive positioning recognition and detection comparison. The proposed scheme exhibits significantly higher precision than the other two alternatives, with an 83% improvement in accuracy. [Conclusion] This paper's vision-based adaptive inspection technology for UAVs, integrated with robust adaptive filtering and tracking algorithms, effectively resolves the issues of low precision and tolerance in traditional navigation systems. It enhances the intelligence and finesse of UAV adaptive inspection technology. © 2025 SPIE.

The mobile measurement system has promoted the development of photogrammetry, drone mapping, and 3D laser scanning technology and has made breakthrough progress in supporting software development and professional applications. As an emerging surveying method, mobile surveying systems have been widely used in terrain surveying. In response to the advantages of fast information acquisition speed, comprehensive acquisition of ground features, and high data accuracy in mobile measurement technology, it is proposed to use unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with laser scanning systems and aerial digital cameras to collect data in coastal areas and obtain three-dimensional data information of ground features through post-processing. At the same time, combined with quality inspection work, the system analyzed the efficiency and accuracy of terrain surveying using mobile measurement systems;this provides a new technical method for large-scale terrain surveying and mapping. © 2025 SPIE.
