The practice of releasing individual data, usually in tabular form, is obligated to prevent privacy leakage. With rendered privacy risks, visualization techniques have greatly prompted the user-friendly data sanitization process. Yet, we point out, for the first time, the attribute order (i.e., schema) of tabular data inherently determines the risk situation and the output utility, while is ignored in previous efforts. To mitigate this gap, this work proposes the design and pipeline of a visual tool (TPA, Tabular Privacy Assistant) for nuanced privacy analysis and preservation on order-dynamic tabular data. By adapting data cube structure as the flexible backbone, TPA manages to support real-time risk analysis in response to attribute order adjustment. Novel visual designs, i.e., data abstract, risk tree, integrated privacy enhancement, are developed to explore data correlations and acquire privacy awareness. We demonstrate TPA's effectiveness with a case study on the prototype and qualitatively discuss the pros and cons with domain experts for future improvement.

Flight safety during the landing phase is crucial, and many environmental factors may undermine this process. Sun glare has been identified as an important environmental factor affecting operation performance, but the empirical evidence concerning its effects requires further exploration. This study investigates the effect of sun glare on flight landing performance based on real flight QAR data. Five landing performance indicators were extracted from the QAR data encompassing 1235 flights at an east-west runway airport during clear weather conditions. We examined whether landing performance can be undermined when sun glare is more likely to happen, specifically during westward landing in the late afternoon and eastward landing in the early morning. The general linear model analysis findings reveal a marginally significant interaction effect between runway direction and time period on touchdown distance. Notably, in the morning, eastward landings exhibited longer touchdown distances compared to westward landings, while during the late afternoon, the opposite trend was observed with westward touchdown distances being longer. This study offers a novel perspective on how environmental factors can influence flight performance. The findings hold promise in devising strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of sun glare on flight operation performance, thereby enhancing overall flight safety standards.

Art is a complex subject of analysis. Nonetheless, Empirical Aesthetics has proved that the interaction between some bottom-up and top-down mechanisms shapes individuals' perception of a work of art. Recently, the Vienna Integrated Model for Art Perception [1] added that, during the observation of an artwork, the emotional state of the observer, as a top-down component, could influence the visual perception of the artwork, as a bottom-up one. Positive emotions can influence visual exploration, by broadening the attention focus during the observation of a normal stimulus [2]. However, whether this mechanism applies also for peculiar objects, i.e., abstract paintings, is still unexplored. In this study, we investigated how the emotional state of the subject influenced his/her following visual exploration of abstract works of art, featured in an immersive format. Thirty participants (20 males, 10 females) had been emotionally primed by either a positive (condition 1), negative (condition 2) or neutral affect (condition 3), as a control condition, before they observed 11 abstract paintings displayed in an immersive degrees format. Participants' eyes gazes were measured during the view of artistic stimuli through an eye-tracking device integrated in a virtual reality viewer (HTC VIVE Pro-eye). Analyses of eye-tracking metrics from participants - fixations and saccades- showed that individuals experiencing an induced positive mood broadened their visual attention, thus exploring more each painting, while participants in a negative mood explore generally less each work of art. This study confirmed that positive emotions pushed subjects to visually explore more the paintings presented in a virtual environment and confirmed the influence of the emotional state of the observer, as a top-down component, also in the visual exploration of an artwork.

This paper delves into the impact of blockchain technology on three levels of supply chain integration: Global Integration, Business-To-Business Integration, and Customer-Centric Integration. The proposed framework examines how blockchain aids in transitioning from conventional models to targeted frameworks that address various scales and complexities. For Global Integration, blockchain enhances international coordination, improves shipment traceability, and streamlines customs processes, while dealing with the challenge of diverse regulations. Customer-Centric Integration targets end customers and delivery agents, aiming to enhance customer experience and service transparency from production to delivery, while addressing issues like customer privacy and last-mile delivery complexities. By examining these implementations, the paper outlines the broad capabilities of blockchain and its specific applications in supply chain management. Each type presents distinct benefits and unique challenges that must be addressed to fully harness blockchain's potential. With the rapid development of information technology such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, big data of higher education has received a lot of attention. This article uses the visual software Citespace from 2013 to 2022 to research higher education in big data in the Web of Science database. Through visual analysis, and uses of the keyword co-occurrence function and cluster analysis function, this article clarifies the main research directions, key documents, hotspots, and limitations in the field of big data in higher education, education big data technology, learning behavior analysis, learning style exploration, education resource management, and personalized teaching reform are the development direction and research hotspots. In this paper, we present the newest version of our interactive video browser tool Vibro. For this iteration, we focused on improving the user interface to enable a more accessible temporal search, upgrading the shot-detection algorithm, replacing a keyword-based search with rich text input, and reducing query times by applying a graph-based approximate nearest neighbor search method. With these extensive updates, we feel well-equipped to handle the huge amounts of data coming our way in the next VBS competitions and achieve competitive results in the contest.

The study's main objective was to conduct a heterogeneity analysis to understand the nature of the complex carbonate reservoirs by integrating geological, and petrophysical parameters to comprehend the different types of facies and their effect on reservoir characteristics. The approach utilizes borehole electrical images to measure the extent and type of the vuggy fraction, porosity dissemination, and its impact on reservoir quality. The heterogeneity analysis of reservoirs from borehole images is carried out using proprietary software that examines the resistivity spectrum to extract information on porosity, layering and other heterogeneities to quantify, characterize and provide a distribution of these relevant heterogeneities. Several iterations are needed to optimize parameters. Each iteration is validated by comparing core data, and density-neutron x-plots with a visual examination of the images to see whether all heterogeneities are identified. Single-depth histograms were generated from the derived porosity spectrum to show the distribution of primary and secondary porosity. The Upper Shuaiba Member (USH) is the main pay zone in the Daleel field in northern Oman and is subdivided into 5 layers comprising of A, B, C, D, and E of which layers D and layer E are the most productive. These layers consist of thinly bedded bioclastic packstones and wackestones. The exploration development of the Daleel field requires knowledge of the composition and collocation of these various layers in the sedimentary system. Our method consists of several steps that combine a probabilistic image analysis with petrophysical properties to derive electrical facies based on the texture, heterogeneity, resistivity spectrum, fracture identification, and petrophysical properties. These facies are translated into curves, codes and colors that represent the porosity distribution as volume fractions. Primary and secondary porosities (vuggy porosity) are common in this field. Here we present the first prototype of the E-TAN ANALYST, an app that is able to analyse spatio-temporal data developed in Python. This app was developed to analyse the Enhanced Baking Tray Task (E-BTT) data, an innovative task that exploits Tangible User Interfaces (TUI) and returns a series of sixteen ordered coordinates as output. The E-TAN ANALYST allows the automatic computation of a series of indexes on these coordinates and the graphical representation of E-BTT performance. This elaboration can then be used by the clinician or by the experimenter to analyse the single subject's performance and their spatial exploration.

visually impaired individuals face immense challenges during navigation. A comprehensive understanding of orientation and mobility (O&M) skills would shed light on the difficulties they face and expand the scope of therapeutic interventions. Here, we aim to complement the existing metrics of performance measurement in O&M assessments by presenting the methodological implementation of body tracking using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. We video-recorded a participant navigating a line marked on the floor within an indoor environment designed to replicate real-world conditions. Utilizing the YOLOv8 neural network for human detection and tracking, we transformed raw data to determine participant locations. To assess the efficacy of our body-tracking system, we examined deviations from the designated route. We found minimal disparities and a strong positive correlation between the marked path and the tracked route. Hence, our YOLOv8-based body-tracking system accurately captures participant locations. Furthermore, we provided two practical applications of the body tracking data: first, the real-time estimation of participant speed throughout the task, and second, the precise measurement of the total path length covered. Here, we presented a body tracking implementation which can capture the precise locations of participants in complex environments. This data analysis offers insights into the dynamic interactions between individuals with vision impairments and their surroundings, complementing existing measures of Orientation and Mobility (O&M) performance with additional outcome metrics.

In recent years, the domain space interaction of subway stations based on computer-aided design has become a new trend. This article takes urban rail transit as an example to explain the importance of using computer to realize functions such as graphics and images. The system uses B/S structure to process graphic information, and stores the results in the server database for later analysis and feedback of changes in user needs. Through the simulation based on virtual sample technology, the effectiveness of the model and algorithm is verified. The visualization coefficient of the subway station domain space guidance system is between 0.7 and 0.9, the accuracy of landmarks is between 96% and 97%, the ease of use is between 84% and 89%, and the system operability is 80% above. Finally, in the computer environment, the interactive interface of the subway station domain space is designed to provide passengers with a better experience. This move means that the space interaction in the subway station has a higher technical level, and has played an important role in improving user satisfaction and convenience. In the research, it was found that the visual interaction method of the subway station spatial guidance system based on computer-aided design can be improved through the following aspects. These data may include passenger flow, train operation status, and safety information, and can be presented in the form of charts, heat maps, and animations. These research findings aim to continuously improve the spatial guidance system of subway station areas, enhance user experience and efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.
