This report explores the integration of Braille technology with mobile communication devices to enhance accessibility for individuals with visual impairments. The proposed system incorporates a Braille pad overlay on standard mobile devices, enabling users to input and receive information through tactile feedback. It also discusses the design, development, and implementation of the Braille pad, emphasizing seamless integration with mobile communication interfaces. The results imply that Braille pads combined with vibration-based haptic feedback could greatly increase the accessibility of communication for those who are visually impaired.

The CNN-based end-To-end learned image compression methods have already achieved a significant improvement in terms of coding efficiency. Moreover, with the capability of modeling long-range global correlation, the transformer-based image compression has further elevated the coding efficiency to outperform the latest Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard. Nonetheless, the high computational burden of the self-Attention mechanism in the transformer design present a significant obstacle for practical applications. To address this concern, we propose a relatively low-complexity end-To-end learned image compression approach by integrating an efficient lightweight attention module, which effectively mitigates the computational overhead associated with self-Attention in the transformer design. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves better RD performance than VVC. Furthermore, as compared to the prevailing state-of-The-Art transformer-based approach, our method accelerates the coding speed by over 6 times while maintaining comparable coding efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

The visual quality of the images gets decreased due to bad weather conditions. The image captured under hazy weather conditions have serious attenuation in terms of color and saturation. In addition, these hazy images have very low contrast and the visual quality will be drastically poor. Moreover, object detection in hazy environment is too challenging. So, single image dehazing is a demanding, challenging and ill-posed problem. In this paper, we propose a 9-layer convolutional neural network with deep dilated filters of different dilation rates to achieve an end-to-end mapping from haze image to haze free image. Exponential expansion of receptive field is possible with the dilated filters without increasing the model complexity. Furthermore, the dilated convolutional layers help for efficient model compactness. We did experiments on synthetic dataset and on naturally obtained hazy images. The results show that our network achieves outstanding performance over the existing algorithms in terms of PSNR, SSIM and visual quality. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

With the rapid development of low earth orbit (LEO) satellite systems, the interference between LEO satellite constellations using the same frequency has become increasingly prominent. Because of the large number and high dynamic characteristic of LEO systems, the traditional interference avoidance methods have great limitations. Based on existing interference avoidance methods, this paper establishes a mathematical model of the interference avoidance for LEO satellite systems, and proposes an interference avoidance method using spatial processing. Aiming at the fatal main lobe interference avoidance problem, the method turns main lobe interference into side lobe interference by switching the beam of earth station to other satellites within the visual range. Then it uses adaptive beamforming method of side lobe null broadening to suppress side lobe interference in high dynamic environment. The interference scenario between OneWeb and Starlink constellations is used for simulation. The results turn out that the proposed method can effectively reduce the interference between LEO constellations and improve the link quality. © 2022 SPIE.

Pictorial data is the most expressive representation of an information using the graphics and designs. Mostly pictorial text data which is needed by the user are unable to access due to a language barrier (pictorial data may be in a different language) or because the image itself prevents to doing so. On platforms like the internet or social media, millions of photographs are shared with billions of written sentences. The issue arises when a person finds an image on the internet that contains text data but, in a language, they are unfamiliar with. Presentations are crucial in the corporate world for expressing concepts through visual information. When dealing with people from different cultures, a language barrier is likely to arise. This is significant on a worldwide scale. Image text translation is desperately needed there. It takes a lot of effort and human capacity to address this problem manually by utilizing books and dictionaries. There are numerous websites and businesses on the internet that are active and offering the service of image text translation in speech form as a solution to this issue. Not just for this, but also when there is account case of a user who is blind and speaks a foreign culture's language and is unable to translate any pictorial text data. There, the issue of speech conversion and translation also surfaces. Many social media platforms are working to implement the speech recognition and translation of pictorial data so that it is simple to share the information with every user of their platform. © 2023 IEEE.

In the work, existing software solutions and successful IT projects were analyzed and their advantages and disadvantages were identified, which helped determine the requirements for a product that would be competitive and meet the requirements of the modern market. Modeling and designing of the software were carried out, the client-server architecture of the application was described, as well as the interaction of subsystems. The mobile application was developed and tested, and further directions for improvement and development of the application were determined. The ap-plication processes a PDF file with a given metronome speed in mp3 and mp4, which gives the user the opportunity to see and listen to the sheet music. The project includes an Android application with a clear and convenient interface, integration with external utilities and libraries. In the work, the processing of files from pdf format to such music and playback files as midi, musicxml, mp3, mp4 is collected in one stream. The process of parsing and playing with full-cycle processing of music files has been improved, by providing the user with all software modules, and the process of processing visual notes and bringing them to easy-to-use files, such as videos that combine notes with sound, has been improved. The work is important because it contributes to the development of digital music processing methods. The introduction of modern technologies for note recognition and visualization of musical elements contributes to techno-logical progress in the field of music development. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

This paper proposes a visual communication optimization method for human-computer interaction interfaces based on fuzzy logic and wavelet transform, aiming to solve the problems of blurred information, unclear edge details, and noise interference in interface visual communication. First, fuzzy logic is used to quantify fuzzy areas and uncertain information in the image, and fuzzy clustering methods are used to achieve precise positioning and feature enhancement of key areas; then, wavelet transform is used to decompose the image into multiple scales to effectively separate low-frequency areas. The overall structural information and edge detail features of high-frequency areas highlight key visual elements in the interface. The optimized human-computer interaction interface has clearer edge contours, effectively suppressed noise, and more accurate expression of visual information. In the experimental part, edge detection, noise suppression evaluation, multi-scale visual detail retention, and user satisfaction comparison experiments were conducted. The results show that after fuzzy logic and wavelet transform processing, the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of the interface image is significantly improved, the edge clarity is significantly improved at different scales, and the user satisfaction level is “satisfied” and “very satisfied” The rating ratio has increased significantly. This method shows superiority in terms of visual communication quality, information accuracy, and user experience, and has strong practicability and stability. In the future, this method can be further combined with deep learning, personalized recommendations and virtual reality technology to promote the intelligent and efficient development of humancomputer interaction interfaces in more fields.

This work focuses on creating a personalized communication system tailored to the unique needs of individuals with visual impairments, using the versatile Raspberry Pi microcomputer. The goal is to improve accessibility and communication by incorporating innovative features and technologies. The system's central functionality is built around the Raspberry Pi, making use of its computational power and connectivity options. A camera module is integrated to capture visual information, and advanced image recognition techniques are applied to extract meaningful content from the captured images. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology is then employed to convert visual information into text. To facilitate effective communication, the system includes text-to-speech conversion capabilities, utilizing the Raspberry Pi's processing power to transform written text into spoken words. This ensures that individuals with visual impairments can receive information in an auditory format, enhancing their accessibility to written content. The design emphasizes simplicity, user-friendliness, and portability to enable individuals with visual impairments to easily carry and operate the system in various settings. Additionally, considerations for power efficiency are integrated, including potential solutions for battery-powered operation to enhance mobility.

With the advent of the Internet era, the continuous development of computer technology has made it more convenient for people to obtain information from the Internet. How can we make this massive amount of information simple and intuitive to display and provide to the majority of users on the Internet? To accept and understand, information visualization is an effective way. This paper mainly discusses the design of bidirectional multimedia information processing system based on computer technology. Based on the support of computer technology, this paper combines graphical user interface with multimedia interaction design to realize information visualization. Take the layout of the interface as an example, starting from the perspective of the text of interactive visual requirements and its layout, explore the effect of the multi-line arrangement of multi-text labels in the chart on the visual search performance of the subjects. The experimental results show that, in terms of the more + less arrangement, the right-aligned alignment has the shortest search performance and the highest reading efficiency;the center-aligned alignment has the longest search performance and the lowest reading efficiency. As far as the arrangement of less + more is concerned, the centered alignment has the shortest search performance and the highest reading efficiency;the right-aligned alignment has the longest search performance and the lowest reading efficiency. © 2022 IEEE.

An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) visual landing is an example of a robot visual navigation application scenario. State estimate is a crucial component of landing missions. The advancement of computer technology and algorithms has dramatically enhanced the speed and precision of visual processing techniques. We present an approach to predict the states (attitude, location, and velocity) of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) based on an onboard camera during the landing phase, with the goal of improving the autonomy of intelligent multi-rotor UAVs. First, the control points of a visual landing target are derived by detecting an ArUco marker in vision. The attitude and position of UAVs, also known as their pose, are then determined. To calculate dense optical flow, a solution based on corner point interpolation of the Lucas-Kanade algorithm is presented due to mission speed and precision requirements. The integral of optical flow is then derived from the optical flow field and certain UAV attitude limitations. Lastly, the UAV's velocity is computed based on the optical flow integral and the UAV's estimated pose. This estimate approach has apparent advantages because it just uses the visual sensor. Integrating optical flow may eliminate the influence of noise spots in the optical flow field. © 2023 IEEE
